openCensorship
Just thought you should know that Tropers/Shawnlongtrope has censored swear words here and here.
openCreating a page for the command and conquer generals contra mod Videogame
I feel like the contra mod for cnc generals is unique enough to warrant a page, with its revamped units, tactics, special ranking system lock, and an epic unit for each subfaction, 2 in the case of one general.
So can it be given the green light to create? And if I'm chosen to design it can I get some help?
Edited by ssbob90openScarlet Nexus pages got nuked after all its tropes got hidden
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/ScarletNexus
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/ScarletNexus
Used to exist, but after the tropes got hidden by other users due to speculative troping, the entire pages, with opening blurbs and all, got cut.
Need to know if there will be mechanisms that will restore the pages wholly in the future, or if the standard practice is to just recreate the pages entirely when the time is appropriate.
(Vaguely feel like the pages were singled out in particular, considering other pages for yet-to-be-released products never got this treatment.)
openReporting a Troper
I'd like to report the troper Kryticreviewer. This user has been making numerous bad faith edits to pages of, or relating to the Fate/stay night franchise, including accusing critics of the DEEN adaptation as the anime as "badmouthing and snubbing" it in some of their YMMV edits, removing the approved Magnificent Bastard entry for Caster along with removing any trope from her page that portrays her in a redeeming light as mentioned below, and using the Flame Bait trope, Tsundere Sue for Unlimited Blade Works' adaptation of Rin Tohsaka.
Edited by Awesomekid42openReporting Troper
I would like to report a troper by the name of Aftermath Jack. I'm a frequent troper for the fan work Null, and here's the page's edit history.
Aftermath Jack consistently makes bad edits, with no semblance of proper grammar or attempts at spoiler tagging, leaving someone to always have to go back in afterwards and fix his messes. I have reached out to them regarding this and have never received a response, yet they continue to make their bad edits and leave other people to clean up the mess. It's getting tiring, and looking through their edit history makes it clear that this is a universal problem.
A recent problem, however, is that they'll try to add tropes that are already there; in Null, they did it with Curb-Stomp Battle and Deus ex Machina. There were already examples, but because they apparently didn't bother reading the page they didn't see that and tried to add them somewhere else (in places that were incorrect from an alphabetizing perspective, as well).
In short, they don't use proper grammar, spelling, spoiler tagging, or formatting. Any of those issues would by annoying on their own, but all four at once is an absolute pain to clean up after and I'd appreciate it if something could be done.
Edited by STARCRUSHER99openGeometry Dash page problems (again)
Despite a sweeping cut back in 2019 following this ATT query to remove all references to real players and UGC, it seems that a Hydra Problem has risen up out of the initial gutting effort.
Awesome.Geometry Dash has been fully repopulated with gushing about user levels after giving those kinds of examples the axe a first time, NightmareFuel.Geometry Dash is entirely user levels, and ThatOneLevel.Geometry Dash only really has enough examples to warrant a subpage because of user levels.
Do I need permission to grab the chainsaw again, or can I just terminate with extreme prejudice whenever?
openadding new trope page to main index?
I proposed "Bookshelf Of Authority", it got 5 net hats, and 15 examples. I launched it tonight, more than 24 hours after announcing 24 hours to comment or edit: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BookshelfOfAuthority
I just got done crosswicking all of the examples.
I thought I was supposed to add it here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/index_report.php
but I can't see how to edit that page. Do I need to ask someone to edit it?
Thank you!
Edited by realbiptuniaopen Moral Event Horizon crowner
There is currently an active crowner in the TRS thread for Moral Event Horizon. If you want to vote on it or otherwise participate, now is a good time.
Please do not respond to this query. This is an effort to draw attention to an important crowner.
openTime limit or something else?
Moving on from my previous ATT (I'm sorry, Grotadmorv), when I edit a page, I see "Edit Lock expires in:". At first, I thought it was a time limit and that when it went to zero, my changes would be saved, regardless if I actually finished them or not, but now I'm not sure. So my question is, what does that countdown do if it reaches zero?
openHow do I put images in the comments?
Like in this one? What should I hypothetically do in order to upload an image into this comment?
Asking this question because I want to put an image in a comment for Trope Launch Pad discussion as an image suggestion.
openBoxes on Squished in too small
So, recently, I was checking in the Dueling Works pages, and I found that I can barely read the titles of the dueling works because the boxs are so thin, each row (or is it column) is a single letter per line.
openMohs Scale Pokemon Music
This might be a weird and hard-to-answer question, but on what level on the Mohs Scale Of Rock And Metal Hardness are the battle themes of Team Yell(including those of Marnie and Piers) from Pokémon Sword and Shield considered to be? I've imagined the standard one to be around a 7 or 8 due to the somewhat abrasive multilayered electronic guitar, heavy and fast drums, and soft but bearing background bass. Marnie's is slower and has only one layer of guitar, so I'm thinking a 6 or low 7, but I'm not sure about Piers? Any decoders here?
openRogue discard and possible agenda-based edit
mewt rogue-discarded a Useful Notes draft for the Black Lives Matter movement despite a net positive hat count and no calls for discard. On its own, that's just normal bad troper protocol, but (thanks to homogenized for catching this) apparently their only edit in the past year was to change "George Floyd's murder" to "George Floyd's death" with an edit reason of "accuracy." They've made about one or two edits a year (they were last regularly active in 2013) that don't appear connected to racism debates, but their recent behavior combined looks like an agenda.
Edited by mightymewtronopenWork with 1 trope but high inbounds Anime
Caste Heaven was created 4 or so years ago, and it currently has only 1 non-ZCE example.
It also somehow has 2,700 inbounds.
I'm not familiar with the work, and the page creator hasn't edited since 2016. Do we just cut the work and accept the lost inbounds?
open What was this called again?
its a trope where someone ends up falling in love with a character who isn't their normal type (example: guy who spends the whole series going after girly girls or femme fatales ends up with the rough and tumble tomboy).
I remember reading the page but can't remember what the name is.
openMechanically Unusual Fighter vs. Class
Does the MOBA folder belong on Mechanically Unusual Class or Mechanically Unusual Fighter? It's on class currently, but MOBAs are more about individual characters than they are customizable roles. However, they are generally closer to action RPGs in mechanics. There's a lot of grey area between these tropes, and I'm not sure what's better.
For that matter, where should The Binding of Isaac characters go? It has specific characters that function like traditional classes.
openDeleted without reason from Fatal Method Acting
Vinichagas deleted the following from Fatal Method Acting without a reason:
- Brazilian voice actor José de Magalhães Graça had a pretty prolific career in VA, particularly in Disney works. He died from a heart attack in 1989, while recording his lines for Duckworth from Ducktales 1987.
I don't see what's wrong with it and I know that all deletions require a reason.
openQueerMedia
The user Fireblood has been going through every work listed on Queer Media and adding tags saying what kind of the representation the work has. While I understand the idea behind it, no other index does this, and it feels like it's bloating the page. The tags themselves feel like something you'd see on Archive of Our Own and are just kind of there.
Do we have a forum thread for pages with too much hidden contents via spoilers?
