Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Bump. I'd also like to add that the Nightmare Fuel page includes a meta-example about a YTer receiving a real heart attack from his own stress over the game, which I'm 99.9% sure isn't okay.
"If you spent as much time fightin' as ye did hidin', maybe this wouldn't have happened!"^ Correct, that should be cut cuz NF is no real life examples.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. The page itself should be cut anyway.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessCutlisted the NF page and sent the axe back to the Awesome page for another round, and added commented-out warnings to both the Awesome and YMMV pages. I'm currently unsure of what to do with That One Level since I know some of these levels were integrated into unique mechanics and reward systems.
"If you spent as much time fightin' as ye did hidin', maybe this wouldn't have happened!"Considering Geometry Dash has an official level editor and user-made levels seem to be a big part of the game, they should be allowed to be troped on the game's page and subpages. Maybe the main work page and subpages should have a separate subheader for user levels?
Edited by rjd1922 Keet cleanupThe main work page used to have a dedicated subheader, but the examples were beyond saving as it did things like call the community a World of Badass, call fans of people busted as cheaters Broken Pedestals, and most egregiously, call some actual creators Jerkasses.
I see now that there's obviously been opportunities to improve since then, but it's still an issue I'd like to be cautious around since something feels off about the whole idea of troping UGC in my opinion. I can't quite put my finger on the specifics, but considering it mostly relates to clutter and relevance, I'm happy to put that aside if it's decided the previous ATT I linked gets overturned.
Edited by TrocyteV "If you spent as much time fightin' as ye did hidin', maybe this wouldn't have happened!"Troping real people on this page is obviously wrong, but I don't see the issue with troping user-made levels.
Keet cleanupI think I've asked this before, and the typical response seems to be that troping UGC on the whole with a single page is bad, like the former "Portal Custom Maps" pages, but troping individual mods/level packs/standalone releases that have enough content to fill out a whole page, like Aperture Tag: The Paint Gun Testing Initiative, is fine.
"Come on! Let's get this show on the road."That's what I was thinking. My main gripe with troping UGC as a whole is that it feels way more scattered than it should be, since it risks hopping from one very specific bit of content like a level or mod to the next and lumping vastly different types of content together as if they represent UGC as a whole (which, admittedly, they do, but that can't be great for organization.)

Despite a sweeping cut back in 2019 following this ATT query to remove all references to real players and UGC, it seems that a Hydra Problem has risen up out of the initial gutting effort.
Awesome.Geometry Dash has been fully repopulated with gushing about user levels after giving those kinds of examples the axe a first time, NightmareFuel.Geometry Dash is entirely user levels, and ThatOneLevel.Geometry Dash only really has enough examples to warrant a subpage because of user levels.
Do I need permission to grab the chainsaw again, or can I just terminate with extreme prejudice whenever?
