Hey, could we get a YMMV banner for Tentyrian Legacy ? If so, that'd be great.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. That's a work, not a trope.
Do you mean a YMMV page for it? Just edit and add examples to YMMV.Tentyrian Legacy.

Well, new crowner time?
Maybe. In any case, it's good if we list all the downvoted items here, to prevent recurrences.
Speaking of these, I have to wonder whether using the repair shop for discussing YMMV status may be good. A lot of these items are ambiguous enough that they should get dedicated discussions (I have always thought that dedicated discussion is the best way to do YMMV classification, as it's a fairly big change and often rewrites and example cleanup can solve the problems better) and the thread cap in TRS doesn't exist anymore.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI already questioned this and use the TRS to this is not okay.
My idea is more to can this thread and use the repair shops instead. Of course using the repair shops when we have this topic already wouldn't be OK.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCould have sworn that Portmanteau Couple Name used to have a YMMV tag; but if it hasn't, then it should.
It's already mostly listed in YMMV pages; plus its sister trope, Idiosyncratic Ship Naming, is already a YMMV trope anyway.

Can please wait by a new crowner? The crowner currently is too crowded.
Just pointing out that Digital Destruction is one upvote away from YMMV status.
EDIT: Well, it isn't anymore.

So what do we do if a trope clearly needs a YMMV banner, considering every other related trope has one, but it's losing in the crowner. :-/
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! Then we don't make it YMMV.
Check out my fanfiction! Also, "related trope" does not mean "it also needs a YMMV banner".
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI could add that I don't find it particularly honest to wait for a couple months to see if a trope vote will finally weigh over to a 2:1 ratio just so you can call it. That's sort of like auction sniping.
Check out my fanfiction!Well, i created a new crowner here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/crowner.php/PageAction/YMMVBanner4
Might want to record all the current entries somewhere if we keep going with the crowner format. Also, my idea from @1458 still stands.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI like Heap's idea.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The new crowner's hooked.
Voted down Broken Aesop due to insufficient supporting argument.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAnd again I'm going to posit that Portmanteau Couple Name is trivia as a type of Fan Nickname, rather than YMMV as a type of Shipping.
Crown Description:
YMMV is for items that are reactions of the audience to works and tropes that need a significant judgment call to tell whether they exist objectively or not. Should these items become members of YMMV? Note: Audience Reactions need to be subjective, emotional responses and things that are likely to cause arguments and disagreements. Merely being outside a work or inside an audience don't make things YMMV
Upvoted Memetic Troll - obvious Audience Reaction there (these can be indexed only on Audience Reaction, they don't need to be put on YMMV as well).
