There do seem to be some questionable examples on Dead Unicorn Trope, though.

Could this get a new crowner after Jerkass Dissonance and All Animation Is Disney are called? The crowner is becoming long and the other options in green also have large amounts of opposes.

Bumping to votes. Jerkass Dissonance needs 1 vote and All Animation Is Disney needs 2.

Can someone create a new crowner, as Mikuru Fan suggested, please?

Squick is a YMMV tidbit, but I think it should be "upgraded" to a full-fledged trope. Otherwise, it's redundant with Nausea Fuel.

I'm not LGBT. I just think Rain's really cool. Apologies if my humor gets too painful.

We've already dealt with this here, for the record. See also here.

Yeah. I've changed my tune. Squick should be an In Universe Examples Only trope.

Like the conclusion of the other thread, I think it's too broad.

So, what? Squick is the reaction. Seems like a trope more than a YMMV item.

I don't think "Guy Reacts To Something Disgusting" is any more of a trope than "Guy Reacts To Something Pleasant" or "Guy Reacts to Something Funny".

It's an Audience Reaction, for what it's worth.

Yeah.

Compromise? How about just works with proven negative reactions. That's really the only way it could seem anymore than a duplicate of Nausea Fuel.

This isn't a TRS thread, by the way.

I decided that I'm going to go ahead and add Discredited Trope to the list. I've been watching it for awhile and people just add just all the time on their own whim based on arguments that amount to little more than their personal opinion on whether or not the trope matches up with current reality, not whether or not the trope is still widely accepted in fiction. Often as not, their opinion isn't even based on accurate facts. Such as one person that tried to add Suicide by Cop because they think that cops in Real Life shoot to disable. Heck no. Cops, like all professionals with guns, aim center mass and shoot to inflict as much damage as possible in order to immediately stop a person from doing whatever provokes the cops to shoot to begin with.

If so, it would have to have its indexing removed and made into a trope as indexes are not subjective.

I think that's a change too major to deal with here by crowner.

Discredited Trope should not be an index. Indexes are navigational aids to keep related tropes together; this at best looks like an example list.

Crown Description:

YMMV is for items that are reactions of the audience to works and tropes that need a significant judgment call to tell whether they exist objectively or not.

Should these items become members of YMMV?

Note: Audience Reactions need to be subjective, emotional responses and things that are likely to cause arguments and disagreements. Merely being outside a work or inside an audience don't make things YMMV
