I don't think any of those tropes fit. I'm also not sure you really need to pick one trope to encapsulate all the things you listed.
Been too much time out of this.

Kyon; He's in his harem, All's right with the world Scratching at the cat box since 1986 while Battling with Dread Shoelace Robots.Welcome back, Agasa!
... Did I just see how Agasa split in two?

Re. Tropes question.
How about:
- Discard and Draw: After her disconnection from the IDSE, Yuki lost access to the Entity's assistance and resources, which severely limited her effectiveness to detect and deal with the threats that could affect her protection targets*. To compensate this, Yuki now makes a point to analyze and reverse-engineer any new supernatural power available for her study in order to enhance her abilities' library. So far Yuki has learned teleportation from Kanae, the ability to create a Pocket Dimension from Haruhi, a specific kind of invisibility from Kuyou and she also adapted Mikuru's Augmented Reality technology for the SOS Brigade's usage.

What do you mean?

My K:BDH Recursive FanfictionI hadn't heard of Discard and Draw. That seems to fit pretty well.
Notice.
New chapter here.
For some reason it didn't go through proofreading as usual.
My K:BDH Recursive FanfictionAlready I like where this is going.
Welp.
A wild Sasaki appears.
We were all like "OMG TIME TRAVEL HER TO FRANCE" and then we were like "BUT WHAT IF SHE MAGICALLY REWRITES THE WORLD SO IT'S NOT FRANCE ANYMORE" repeat in circles of hypothesizing and then Durandall was all like "Hey cool, Hinamizawa. Little debate about how we got here then let's mellow out and think about it later because Hinamizawa. Yup."
I think we were more uptight about how Sasaki's reveal is going down than Brian or the characters themselves are. I feel silly. -_-
My Fanfic, My Fanart@ Specular: He greeted himself.
Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often.Just a little thought for now. I will wait a little more to post without the need of spoiler tags.
It's just me or the Sumiyoshi-rengo tried/will try to kidnap Sasaki on Saturday because they saw Kyon in Hinamizawa and heard about his plans to attend to the festival? I mean, maybe they thought something along the lines of "dude, if we're going to catch that girl, we have to move fast and do it while the Kowa-Keigo is far away."
Of course, Sasaki's words imply that future!Kyon (and apparently future!Haruhi) got/will get in the way of that. IMO, it would be awesome if the Sumiyoshi-rengo ends thinking it was all planned to make them walk into a trap. Bonus Points if after all is done one of them says something close to "what kind of crazy bastard hires a freaking Body Double and sends him to a remote village just to smoke us out?". Doubly so if his allies in the Yamaguchi-gumi thinks he did it to kick some ass without going against the Kumichou's orders (after all, they attacked first, didn't they?).
My K:BDH Recursive FanfictionGood points, both paragraphs.
Now, am I the only one who suspects that what Yuki is working on with her laptop is related to Kanae's missing drawing book from a few chapters ago? Has Yuki been converted to the Yaoi Fangirl side? My oh my, Haruna would be ecstatic.
... Yuki, patting Kyon on the head. MUST. SEE. IT. ANIMATED!
And just when I thought that Sasaki would sadly not join the group... WOOT!
Wait. Waitwaitwait. Those "outside vendors"... Are Sumiyoshi guys?! Oh God, this is hilarious! Now they will be paranoid that Kowa-Keigo-Kyon is everywhere!
Gah, I need to ask Durandall to put some time-tags at the start of each chapter to remind us of the in-universe date and rough time. I am getting lost in these temporal transitions!
And... SCORE! One point for SOS Brigade versus Sasaki's psychological walls!

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I think the "and" should be "then."
I don't think what Yuki's working on is at all related to Kanae's yaoi art. She's been working on something secret using a text editor on her laptop as far back as chapter 9. If it's some kind of surprise for Kyon then now I'm really curious.
Also, this happens less frequently in the anime than the visual novels, but Yuki patting Kyon on the head strongly reminds me of one of Rika's mannerisms in Higurashi - she always pats people on the head when she thinks they need comforting.
Also, unspoilered because it's not related to the chapter, I didn't realize until just now that Mikuru didn't tell Kyon she was handling the Hinamizawa trip at the same time she actually set it up because Kyon was in disguise at the time.

Spoiler blocks are now lifted.
...Damn, I don't think any of us expected it to be that easy, preventing Sasaki from undoing the time travel. Ah, we can all laugh about it later.
That bit with the Sumiyoshi-rengo vendors was hilarious, especially since you only find out once Rika mentioned that Kyon was here. Boy, if Mion and Rika were uninterrupted a bit longer, they could have taken them to the cleaners.
Kuyou and cake? That shall prove to be either funny as all can get, or one of the most epic soliloquys about mundane life yet.
Kyouko... is certainly being dealt with in an interesting manner. Being a hothead turned waif, she's certainly going to give off this awkward vibe for a good while. I wonder if it will affect the plot...
And anyways, I'm rambling. I'm looking forward to another chapter, and I beg of you. Durandall, please answer what Kyon's tie to Watanagashi is.
Great chapter, as usual, as all these plot points we've been waiting on converge. Breaking the Masquerade to Sasaki, Watanagashi, potentially the Beta-Harem.
I don't know if this has been discussed, and it seems unlikely to be true, but has there been any indication that Matsuri can interact with Hanyuu also? Rika mentioned being able to see more of the spirit world or something during the full moon during the Fanservice arc when she was trying to perceive Yuki, but does Matsuri have similar abilities?
Also, has Brian given any indication that he/someone with his permission will write the story of Higurashi between the end of that series and now? (Or at least up to after the relationships get resolved.) I would absolutely love to read that story.
Five posts already, so you don't need spoiler tags. The spoiler rules are all in the thread's first post.
No, we do not have any indication that that is true.
No, he hasn't said anything for or against, but you can ask him anyway. He doesn't mind such inquiries.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. So, we have Haruhi and Tsuruya in the same room... Gentlemen, I fear shenanigans. In fact, I can even see it:
...
Opening her eyes, the girl confirmed that yes, Kyon was, indeed, sleeping peacefully right next to her. Sasaki couldn't help blushing. Then he mumbled something and pulled her closer. The girl could feel all her face flush crimson. And then, across from Kyon's chin, Sasaki noticed Haruhi's amber eye, looking at her mischievously. The color flooded Sasaki's neck and crept lower.
When Suzumiya grabbed her hand and moved it across Kyon's chest, Sasaki was too surprised to resist. Suddenly, the other girl said something even more surprising:
"Bliss," she whispered, cuddling to Kyon herself.
Sasaki opened her mouth to reply that, no matter how pleasant and safe it felt in the boy's arms, he still was somebody's else fiancee... Then, a wave of green hair covered them all.
"Isn't it, Saki-nyan?" Tsuruya breathed in her ear, and Sasaki knew that all her body was blushing now.
A few moments she spent feeling mortified - but on other hand, wishing desperately to just stop thinking and let things go.
The was a yelp across the hall, and suddenly, Sasaki was alone in her futon, looking at a startled Kyoko.
"Did you too... Did you just..." Kyoko rubbed her eyes and shook her head. "Nevermind, it was just a weird dream."
"Yes," Sasaki agreed. Just a dream. No matter how nice it felt, this dream was, possibly, just a result of a stressfull Saturday, and her hormones were getting better of her. Because it wasn't even physically possible...
Except that, if Haruhi's group had access to teleportation, it probably was, and they could more often...
No! It wasn't right, wasn't proper, and even if one of the girls involved was Kyon's fiancee, it didn't make things any better, because she could not have encouraged such things to have her way with girls attracted to Kyon, even if it might have looked like that for a moment, and even if Sasaki could probably bear with...
She realised that she was spacing out only when Tsuruya glomped her, a few feet away from the breakfast table.
"You look thoughtfull, Saki-nyan," the fanged girl grinned. "Had a nice dream?"
"Something you won't mind seeing more often, I bet," Haruhi added.
So, the reasons I think this won't do:
- Haruhi is not that much of a raging Bi;
- Tsuruya's mischievous scheming streak is not that large;
- Sasaki, like any teenager with a crush that has been saved from kidnapping one time too many, would probably not think that long, and give in as soon as she has reasons to think it's a dream (most likely, as soon as she finds Kyon in her bed).
Edit:
- Oh, and this snippet has too many ellipses (the ...s)

Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often.<sends copy of above post to Durandall>
I'd be mighty disappointed if we didn't at least get Les Yay between Haruhi and Sasaki, on account of them being diametrically-opposite reality-warping entities.
That reminds me... Weren't Haruhi and Tsuruya blushing when Mikuru arrived for the trip? I wonder what they were up to...

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Thanks?
Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often.Ninj'ad.
You're welcome. Durandall actually loves reading such snippets; it's a shame that he stopped following the thread after what seemed to be the third or fourth Flame War between two posters who have since been banned from the forum/site (one in that incident's aftermath, the other much later due to an unrelated offense).
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus."maybe Tsuruya" ???
Maybe?
You remember Haruhi's outright declaration that she feels the same way about Tsuruya as she does about Kyon, don't you? You remember the Haru-Tsu snogging that followed, don't you?
I think it's pretty safe to say that Haruhi is most definitely bi for Tsuruya.
Edit: Okay, she didn't actually word it quite so strongly as I remembered, but there was still much Tsu-Haru snogging. From Laying Low 4, Out of the Frying Pan:
Not that she minded being close to both Haruhi and Kyon.... She pursed her lips to form a question, but didn't manage to get it out; prompted by the action, Haruhi leaned forward and kissed Tsuruya just as deeply as she'd kissed Kyon before.

My Fanfic, My FanartForgot about that. Day-umn! Now I wish that Durandall would adapt that Haru-Tsu Marshmallow Heaven scene that he originally wrote ages ago into some future chapter.
And when the hell is Kyon gonna call Haruhi "Haru-Haru" like he did in that one Audio Drama? (the same one we got "Yukirin" from, to boot.)

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.@Marq FJA:
Filraen's timeline is a good way to go about that.
Now you mention it, I use a patch file to get a custom version of the PDF with little notes to indicate the time in-story at the beginning of a chapter, when a scene switch signals a date change and when a time leap occurs. I could post it if you are interested, but I must warn you beforehand that it may contain errors here and there.
My best guess is Yuki's writing "Snow, Verses: A Compilation" and considering that her poems tend to be (directly or indirectly) about Kyon, I can understand why she doesn't want him reading them just yet. Maybe she will give him a selection as a present for his birthday.
Humor Mode: ... that or spending half a century with Kyon in the hyperbolic time chamber gave Yuki enough inspiration to write several martial arts and Science Fiction flavored Mentor Ship Romance Novels.
IIRC, Haruhi hates that nickname.
Also, I don't remember a Marshmallow Heaven scene. Could you refresh my memory?
@Eamil:
Me too. In Rika's case, it's also part of her repertory as a Little Miss Snarker. From the Characters' page:
Satoko | : | Mion must have caught a cold, she looks a bit feverish. Hey, Rika, why are you patting my head?! |
Rika | : | Satoko, you too will catch a cold someday. |
I would like to know the exact context of it, though.
Random thoughts about the new chapter.
I think now we know what Ryouko thought of the "Kiss by Proxy".
Kuyou's small face offered a happy smile, and her arms reached out, as though to grab him in a hug. "That's.... No, Haruhi," he sighed, looking away. "It's—"
I want Fan Art of that. Very much so.
So easy to make costumes for, too!
How come I didn't think of that!? *invokes Corner of Woe* I Fail Rule of Cute Forever.
Is she pondering what I'm pondering◊ [source]
Are they pondering what I'm pondering◊ Nah, probably not. For this to work, Haruhi or Tsuruya would need to know everyone's sizes in advance* .
"Like Mikuru-chan and Kanae-chan?" Tsuruya snickered.
I think I will be using the expression "100% pure dere-dere-tonium" from now on.
Mion burst into laughter, Tsuruya chiming in with her. "You snuck up to Hinamizawa behind her back?" she exclaimed. "Oh, that's perfect!"
It's just me or Mion was way too happy about that?
She smiled slightly, giving no other answer.
For some reason I felt a vibe of smugness from Kuyou when I read that. If I have to put it into words, I would have to say she gave Kyon a smile with a something-very-good-happened-last-weekend-that-I-can't-tell-you-right-now-but-don't-worry-you-will-find-out kind of quality. Weird.
This post already ran too long, so I will stop here for now and just say I'm looking forward to imminent meeting between Kyon and Miyuki.
Kyon blinked, then rolled his eyes and said, "I've been getting up early ever since you- wait... "You both?""
Haruhi grinned a little wider and glanced quickly downward. Kyon let out an embarrassed yelp and rolled away from his unexpected bedmate, directly onto her co-infiltrator, Tsuruya. "Good morning, Kyons! Your weapons are still in your coat, so I know you're happy to see us!" She winked at him.
Kyon rolled off of her and hit his head on the nightstand before falling to the floor in a tangle of sheets. Rubbing his forehead, Kyon mumbled, "... Special Hell." Haruhi scrambled onto the still smiling, still blushing Tsuruya to get a closer look. "Are you ok?" A muffled Tsuruya answered, "Everything is wonderful."

Re. "cracky-hilarious feedback"
Don't tempt me. Motivated enough, I could go on and on about very strange trains of thought. For example, if the subject is outfits...
Ex. #1
Ex. #2
Ex. #3
See what I mean?
Tropes question.
I noticed that (as far as I could tell) there is no a real mention in the tropes pages about the measures Yuki took after her disconnection from the IDSE to keep herself efficient. I mean, she copied the idea behind Haruhi's Closed Space to get rid of the "junk data", to train Kyon, Mikuru and Kanae and to create the opportunity to get him to help her to prevent a "error state". She also learned to teleport from her observation of Kanae's power, the Augmented Reality system used by the Brigade to interact with Achakura and chibi!Kuyou seems to be an implementation of one of Mikuru's tools given to her as a time-traveller, and the "occlusion field" used in LL-1 was apparently copied from the technique used by Kuyou to remain unnoticed by normal people.
So, what do you think would be the best trope to encapsulate all that? Awesomeness by Analysis, Power Copying, Indy Ploy or none of the above?
