So, Rapunzel Hair is a trope for characters with long hair and the connotations associated with long hair. In practice, it's used for any character with long hair which isn't a trope in my eyes. I don't think long hair is notable by itself unless it's floor length.The femininity aspects that the description notes already covered by Long Hair Is Feminine. The other aspect (long hair as a symbol of royalty/high status) seems tropable to me but we didn't many examples with that context in the wick check.

- Characters.Rebuild Of Evangelion: When Shinji reunites with Rei in 3.0+1.01, it's shown that her hair has grown past her waist after 14 years of being stuck inside EVA-01's core,]] giving her an uncanny resemblance to KOS-MOS (one of her many expies).
- Characters.Mortal Kombat 3: It can attack people, too. It's been cut a bit shorter since her debut.

- Rinne Sonogami: As the Spirit Ruler, her locks are around waist-length, with one braid even reaching to her knees. This is notable as no other Spirit has been shown to undergo such drastic change upon transforming. Ruler?? Seems high-class but the latter example less so.
- Rio Sonogami: Not as long as Rinne's in her Spirit form, but Rio's purple hair does reach her legs even when she is standing.
- Leia: Her hair reaches to her knees.

- Fafal Armalite: Her hair goes down past her waist.

- Main.Action Prologue: Pibgorns arcs start this way, but they're so confusing they're pretty much Mind Screw prologues. For example, the latest arc began with a Rapunzel Haired Pibgorn messing around with dewdrops in a meadow, with the panels interrupted by a giant rack-focused number 8 on a plain white background out of nowhere. It then switched to short-haired Pibgorn and Drucilla talking on a glacier (Rapunzel-Hair Pib is a flashback). Pib suddenly fainted then attacked Drucilla who fought back, and then the giant 8 explodes in a shower of Photoshop brushes.
- NiceHat.Video Games: The male protagonist of Legend of Mana wears a big red floppy hat that gets complimented (and made fun of) on at least one occasion; for the female one, it's her kickin' Rapunzel Hair (pothole) rad hair pipes.
- Webcomic.Scarred Eden: Dream-Woman is depicted to have very long blonde hair that goes past her feet.
- Characters.Yu Gi Oh 5 Ds WRGP: To take full advantage of the Samus Is a Girl reveal.

- YMMV.Shin Megami Tensei V: Memetic Mutation: The protagonist's haircut, which was mocked upon its reveal for looking like the protagonist had done a bad job cutting his own hair. Though some pointed out that it was oddly topical, since the reveal was made during the COVID-19 Pandemic, where many individuals self-quarantined for months and had to cut their own hair. This became a bit ironic in hindsight after the reveal that, post-transformation, the protagonist's hair grows into flowing locks of borderline Rapunzel Hair that has even been described by members of Nintendo Treehouse as gorgeous.
- Characters.Drakengard 3: Each Intoner has an aspect of themselves that increases constantly. In Three's case, it's the length of her hair, which grows more swiftly than normal. She carries her scissors so that she can always cut her hair when she needs to.

- He has a long, flowing mohawk style haircut.
- His helmet fashions his har into a long ponytail.

- Fridge.Naruto: Both [Kushina and Hinata] are considered very beautiful by their husbands partly because of their Rapunzel Hair (pothole) long flowing hair.
Rapunzel Hair + additional context
- Characters.Compass Of Thy Soul: Kita's hair falls well below her waistline as is proper for a noblewoman. She mostly keeps it in buns or braids so it doesn't get in the way.
- Characters.The Rising Of The Shield Hero Main Characters:
- Her hair goes past her hips, previously because the slave driver didn't bother with her upkeep (he didn't even purchase medicine when she was sick). Later, Naofumi cuts it and styles it into its present shape. It suits a noblewoman well, don't you think?
- In her human form, she has long blonde hair that reaches down about her waist, adding to her Angelic Beauty trait, and is appropriate for a rare Filolial Queen.
- Characters.Goblin Slayer Traveling Companions And Loved Ones: When brushed out it extends past her butt. She is a princess in her homeland, you know.
- FinalFantasyIX.Tropes Q To Z: Princess Garnet has hair that reaches her butt until she cuts it, and it also has very rapid growth as it grows back to that full length over the length of a year (though this could be attributed to the devs not bothering to make yet another model for the ending scenes and her hair growning back would be a good indicator that time had passed).
- Literature.Chronicles Of The Kencyrath: Foil: Jame and Brier: They have a Red Oni, Blue Oni thing going on. Brier is solemn, very military and highly disciplined, and Jame is kind of a loose cannon. Physically they contrast too: Brier is dark-skinned, tall and sturdy, with Boyish Short Hair, and Jame pale, skinny and waif-like, with Rapunzel Hair. They are also both masculine or androgynous after a fashion, making them a Bifauxnen and Lad-ette duo. Used as a contrasting element to another character.
- Manhua.Choukakou: Lots of characters have this and is a staple for noble women. Chang Ge's hair is around knee length though she usually has it up, Mimi's is down to her calves and is wavy on top of that. Astrologer Li Chunfeng's hair is actually touching the floor. Mujin at least has the sense to put his into a braid but Ashina Sun finds no problem in jumping onto horses and fighting with his butt length hair loose. The person who takes the case is probably Chang Ge's mother, Li Jin, and is said to be incredibly beautiful.

Conclusion: I don't think there's any way we can salvage this trope if everyone is using it for any character with long hair. I think we will just have to turn the page into a disambiguation between long hair tropes like Long Hair Is Feminine, Long-Haired Pretty Boy, Barbarian Longhair, Power Makes Your Hair Grow, and Rapid Hair Growth. The "long hair as a status symbol" can be probably be yarded.

I mainly chipped away at the Characters namespace today. Orange Right and Random Troper 123 (and potentially other tropers I missed) get credit for clearing away other namespaces such as Webcomic, Wrestling, Music, Creator, Funny, etc.

I just shaved off the Fanfic and Sandbox namespaces (outside of the Wick Checks and Trope Report Dummy Edition), though there were some phantom wicks I couldn't get rid of. I am not sure what to do with those.

You can request ghost wicks from non-existent pages to be removed here
However, if the page exists, you need to add a wick from a page other than Rapunzel Hair, and then remove it. Pages act weird when you leave them with no wicks so you need to add a wick to them in order for the related to page to update itself.

Rapunzel Hair is "long hair in fiction has multiple meanings" but in practice that just boils down to long hair. Most wicks on the wick check don't have any context beyond the character's hair length. How should we fix this?

Seems Wootzits is working on this one and from what I've seen, she is really fast at deleting wicks. (For reference, there's only 1.3k wicks remaining.) I expect RH to be one of the next projects to close as a result, so might be worthwhile to pitch in or at least keep an eye on?
