I'm shutting this down until the TRS thread resolves...no telling when that's going to happen, and I don't want to have a thread hanging around that long just for that. It can be re-opened and moved back here if/when the TRS thread comes up with something.

As lakingsif said in the TRS article, he suggested one of these three images from Supergirl juxtaposed with one of these two from Glee.

Hm, to me that could be mistaken for Those Two Actors unless we got a clearer shot of them as having the same relationship in both

Feel free to add your suggestions for this trope until the clock's up...

I still think some organization of [28] — I'll see if I can mock something up.

OK, option 1 is Sebastian and Marley being cast as Barry and Kara and then being given a musical episode

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barrykara.jpg
This standalone story arc is basically Glee with aliens. So we cast Glee.

and option 2 is after having cast Sebastian and Marley from a musical TV show to be their lead heroes, DCTV decided to do a musical event episode which would use a character to bring the heroes together via forcing them to sing, for which they deliberately cast Blaine

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barrykaramusicmeister.jpg
And featuring Darren Criss as some guy who makes people sing

and option 3 is a more attractive crop of #1

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barry_kara_crop_3.jpg
A musical show has a special episode where the characters become superheroes; two super-hero shows do a crossover special where the characters end up in a musical. Starring Grant Gustin, Melissa Benoist, and (unpictured) Darren Criss.

I do personally prefer #3, especially because it's a good contrast with the image on Actor Allusion; that image is of the same actors in the same physical position but it is clear that nothing else about the two scenarios is similar and so it's a small allusion, whereas this picture has the same actors in a different physical position but it is clear that everything else is similar and so a humorous choice in casting overall rather than a little back reference.

Alternate caption for any of the images: "Sebastian and Marley, and Barry and Kara are brought together by and made to sing with Darren Criss."

I like it, but objectively it’s so similar that the shots could be mistaken for the same show; is there an alternative shot for part deux?

35.1 doesn't break the 180° rule, but 35.2 has better angles on his face.

I think a caption can help explaining that the two images are from different works.

We're almost out of time on this thread, so let's go with 35.2.

Counter-suggestion:

Top: Richard Crenna as the Colonel in Rambo.
Bottom: Crenna as the Colonel again... but not in what you think.

[up] it doesn't show how the roles are similar, also falls into mistaking for Those Two Actors. Because of the previous misuse/misunderstanding of the trope, we either need an image without room for doubt or no image at all, really
