What a great movie. The horror and helpnesses of being so small is clearly self evident, giving it a disturbing aura.

A long-standing series about the life of the Pines siblings struggling to survive in a hellish world infested with dream demons, it is absolutely great. Seriously. Just- just everything is great. The emotions, the suspense, the characters, the music. Hell, even old man Hirsch himself acknowledged it!

Though I'm worried about it- even more incestous subtext is slipping in.

That wolf was fairly funny, but I couldn't understand much of what was going on. I guess that growing up in a western society makes it difficult to understand the culture of Russians, and that was hard to translate for another audience.

In the grim darkness of space, there is only war. The tensions between the Empire of Mankind and the Xeno powers remains at all-time high. In this world, a child is born: a child of two worlds. Can she find friends, banish the Chaos Gods, and bring peace to this world?

I... have mixed opinions on this. On one hand, the visuals are brilliant, the characters are fairly good, and the Chaos Gods make Hades look like Neutral People in terms of ham and epicness. On the other hand, while the main character isn't a Disney Princess, she still feels like such, and I scratch my head at the thought of a half-human somehow not dying. In Warhammer 40K. The sheer removal of GRIMDARK made this adaptation universally despised by Warhammer 40K fans, so I wouldn't recommend this work.

Ken's a lot more manly, for once. I think he's like in his twenties now. And the Jurals are much more powerful, and Maou is an even bigger asshole. "You thought you had lost your ascot, but it was me, Maou!"

A far-cry from other Disney films that it aspires to be (read: Big Hero Six.) Brimming with obnoxious stereotypes, a plot that emulates your over-the-top action-comedy fantasy, and writing that is the farthest thing from self-aware imaginable, this adaptation's hype has nothing to do but vanish into cult-obscurity as suddenly and unexpectedly as the film was announced.

The upcoming Sanic movie gets taken over by Children of Men and Gravity director Alfonso Cuarón. The film is marketed as "a dissection of the mindset that drove 90's culture."

An interesting psychological observation of a loner and his motivation for fighting evil. I enjoy how it avoid the Loads And Loads Of Characters of the newer games, only having Sonic and Eggman as the major characters. It really gave it a personal feel that many video game movies lack.

To be fair, very nice-looking. Disney's technologies and CGI have helped, and who knows, maybe it'll be the next cash-earning trilogy of George Lucas?

Though it still is very cheesy.

Holy shit, I'm reviewing a work based on something I know jackshit about! Ain't that a surprise? Anyway, doing research, Chargeman Ken is an infamously bad anime from the 70s known for shit writing and shit animation. So who else should handle a reboot than Rebecca Sugar, creator of Steven Universe, a show known for excellent writing and excellent animation? As expected, the animation makes a huge leap in quality, going from a 1 to 10 almost immediately. And the characters are amazingly well-rounded as opposed to the good-versus-evil plot of the original. The Jurals aren't invading because they wanna blow shit up, they're invading because their old home was destroyed and they need to survive. Yet Ken and his comrades have to fight to keep the human race alive as well. So you're thrown into a situation where no matter who wins, there will be dire consequences and innocent lives will be lost, so all you can do is hope for a draw. I've never watched Steven Universe, but if it's anything like this, I need to do it pronto. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

It's kinda terrifying, considering the dysfunction of the family, the messages, the audio logs...

There is something wrong.

Still the same brazen, ballistic fare, only now flaunting overt themes of Bolshevism, Chargan Kremlin is a testament to the diminishing mental state of the creators.

The moment I saw Alan Resnick I jumped all over that shit.

Good news! I'm reviewing a movie by Alan Resnick, the Unedited Footage of a Bear guy! Bad news! It's about Sonichu, so buckle the fuck up! First off, Alan Resnick treats it as a satire of webcomics, kinda like how Alantutorial was a clear satire of tutorial videos. Also like Alantutorial (and the Unedited Footage series to an extent), it starts out as a comedy but very quickly becomes the shit of nightmares. I'm not gonna say what happens, because that would ruin the surprise. Let's just say Sonichu is a fusion for a reason. Anyway, the most baffling thing about this is the fact that Resnick managed to get Chris-Chan. HOW THE FUCK DID HE DO THAT?! Also, just like Alantutorial with the blue chair and This House with pizza and clay, it has a recurring item in the form of a pickle... just roll with it. If you're gonna watch it, just be sure to bring your brown pants.

AMAZING. I'm dead serious. It's brilliant and humorous. It's very amazing how a simple yet very hot-tempered mascot can do for his console. I should note that the Starter Villain is Microsoft, who is portrayed as a Boisterous Weakling who is crushed very quickly. However, I also should note the greatest moment in the movie... SEGATA SANSHIRO VS. REGGIE FILS-AIME. YOU CAN'T GET MORE BADASS THAN THAT.

It's time for a meta-post.

What a cool thread this is! The Retool is coming up on 100 posts, and has been only visited by, what, six people? I'm thinking of expanding on this thread so some more people can notice it. Considering the creative talent that lurks on this site, I think I want to tease out the userbase's artistic skills a little more. Who's for me making The Retool: Poster Edition? Read on.

Poster Edition could be one of two things. For the first option, it would work a lot like this thread, except poster 2 creates and posts a poster, DVD box art, ad, etc based on the retool from poster 1. Or, for the second option, the rules could be to post images that are only related to the remakes mentioned in this thread.

I want to know if anyone else thinks this thread would hit. If not, I'll just sketch a few Retools myself and share them on here, because some sound too fun not to make.

@arcada Not sure if I could do that one in particular, but I'm thinking Poster Edition would be a thread where you can find someone who would. It would be like an image requesting thread specifically for The Retool. So what do you think? Should I make it?
