I feel like this thread is missing something.
Oh. Here it is.
'Nuff said.
I don't cotton much to Halloween novelty songs, but I do have a soft spot for some spookiness. Silent Shout by The Knife is both quote macabre sounding and one of my favorite albums of all time. An Empty Bliss Beyond This World by The Caretaker is incredibly eerie.
As for songs, I quite like "Howl" by Florence and the Machine.
Since the day is just about upon us, I'll put up my last post on my playlist.
- Alice Cooper - Keepin' Halloween Alive
- Annihilator - Never, Neverland
- Avenged Sevenfold - Not Ready to Die (as silly as this band is, that organ in the opening is pretty good)
- Black Sabbath - Electric Funeral (still find these to be some of the scariest lyrics ever)
- Danzig - Long Way Back From Hell
- David Bowie - Please Mr. Gravedigger
- Devil May Cry 3 Soundtrack - Stage 2 (Temen-Ni-Gru 1F-2F)
- Disturbed - The Night
- The Doors - The End (Cooper himself finds this song pretty creepy)
- Godsmack - Witch Hunt (a little hidden track after "Voodoo" ends)
- Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark (obvious, but undeniable)
- Judas Priest - Living After Midnight (because Halloween should be fun above all else)
- Korn - Word Up!
- Marilyn Manson - Sweet Dreams
- Metallica - Enter Sandman (this song is designed to sound ominous, but in a somewhat approachable way; basically that makes it perfect for this holiday)
- Ozzy Osbourne - Diary Of A Madman
- Rob Zombie - Superbeast (this song is very danceable; I think that's a good trait to have for one of these playlists)
- White Zombie - Super-Charger Heaven

I hate Halloween.
That said, "Mama" by Genesis kicks ass
Here in Michigan, it's also deer hunting season, so we have our own flavors of seasonal music heard every year, including "Second Week of Deer Camp" by Da Yoopers and "Da Turdy Point Buck" by Bananas at Large, NOT DA YOOPERS.
