So, I'm getting close to the end of the Incredibles world, and I've hit a very minor snag.

See, I know that Syndrome's line about selling his inventions/everyone being super is very iconic... but I'm not sure I can work it into this scene without it feeling awkward. I don't wanna just regurgitate movie lines, and where in the film, Bob was the only one present, Riku's group is there too. Syndrome knows ordinary people can become Keyblade wielders and that magic's a talent that is easily picked up by even ordinary humans.

Heck, even darkness grants extraordinary powers.

What I have in my draft is a little different. He still comments on his plan to showcase his "heroics" against the Omnidroid. When the others snap back at him, he takes a... slightly different approach. Through Lexaeus, he's learned that Riku abandoned the Door to Darkness, willingly allowing worlds to continue suffering for the sake of one person. I was thinking he'd bring that up, because he seems to enjoy taunting his foes, AND to possibly spread some dissent among the Parrs and Riku's team.

After all, what Riku did is far from heroic, even if he and his friends have fought hard ever since. I think he'd see the potential in causing a rift, on the off chance they DID manage to escape (which idk if he'd account for, seeing how he didn't in the movie, but hey).

I'm also thinking he may hint that the Organization's been tracking Riku, but refuse to elaborate before he takes off for his flight.

I dunno, though. I'm basically trying to account for the altered circumstances so I don't copy the movie beat for beat, but sometimes that's tricky.

EDIT: Actually got another angle. The worlds are suffering at the hands of darkness, so this makes a prime business opportunity. He can sell his inventions while the worlds are suffering (though not all, 'cause he's gotta keep some to himself). He can make bank with alliances and give the worlds hope where the real heroes have failed. :')

Where Mr. Incredible has failed.

Not so sure if I should write this, but I am currently in the middle of writing a Kingdom Hearts fanfiction (In fact, it is my first ever foray into fanfic writing) named A Battlemage's Journey (A WIP Title), and I though I should post up the main characters here in order to see what you guys/girls, as fellow fanfic readers, think of them; Now, as stated above, this is my first fanfiction, so I would be very thankful if you would give me any sort of constructive criticism that would help me improve them. Anyways, the characters themselves:

Elijah Dalton - The de-facto protagonist of the story, Elijah is equal parts Magic Knight, Gentleman Wizard, Stoic Woobie, Lovable Rogue, Blood Knight, Magnificent Bastard and, later in the story, Badass Gay; at the very beginning of A Battlemage's Journey, Elijah is unaware of the fact that there are other worlds out there besides the one he lives on, as well as the ever-present conflict between the forces of the light and the forces of darkness, a fact that Elijah's family (Who, unbeknownst to him, are all Keyblade wielders) are very keen to keep from him for his own safety. However, his world is soon attacked and destroyed by the Heartless, and his family, for reasons unknown to him (at the time), leave him behind to die and be captured. After a few years of rough imprisonment, Elijah teams up with fellow prisoner Malick (Who I will talk about in a minute) in order to escape, costing an arm and a leg (Literally) in the process; after recuperating for a couple of months, he and his new-found friend Malick, both now aware of the fact that there are other worlds, decide to train and prepare themselves in order explore what the many planets have to offer, and maybe break a few rules in the process (Okay, a LOT of rules).

In terms of personality, at first Elijah is an 'Average Joe' type of character, someone who isn't all that special and just wants to get along with their life without any mishaps along the way; however, one all the shit stated above happens to him, Elijah becomes a combination of Han Solo/Gerralt of Rivia/Log Horizon's Shiroe/Corvo Attano, a Badass Longcoat-wearing snarker of the nth degree who is skilled in magic and weaponry, and has a pragmatic and intelligent edge to him. Whilst this does make him out to be a Gary Sue (A term I've seen thrown around often when it comes to OCs), Elijah does have his weaknesses; as stated above, he went through a lot of shit whilst imprisoned, which made him rather damaged both physically and emotionally, and whilst it doesn't show through much with his new personality, he can break down if pushed hard enough, and does suffer recurring nightmares and flashbacks akin to PTSD (Though he tries his hardest not to show this).

Probably the most unique thing about Elijah is that he does not wield a Keyblade (Which in this story I have reserved to those of the forces of light and darkness only); instead, Elijah wields a spear (Stylized after Prince Nuada's from Hellboy II: The Golden Army) as his own signature weapon, which he discovered near the beginning of his journey when he and Malick were still training. On top of that, much like Corvo and Gerralt, Elijah has a wide verity of spells and potions/poisons available at his fingertips during battle, slotting him firmly into the Battlemage archetype.

Malick Moreau - The co-protagonist alongside Elijah, the two share a similar backstory leading up to when they met, both being left behind when their worlds were destroyed by the Heartless, though in Malick's case it was by transport ships and not by his own family. Left to rot in a cell for years, he eventually met Elijah, and the two of them plotted their escape plan. Whilst he lost an eye and gained some heavy scarring on the left side of his face, Malick was none-the-less alive and well. Feeling a moral obligation to Elijah, Malick stayed by his new friend's side whilst he was in a many month-long coma, believing that he was responsible for his current condition. Once his friend finally woke up, the two got to know each over much better than they did in their cell, and decided on their plan to travel the planets.

Malick has a personality that is a combination of Genius Bruiser, Lightning Bruiser, Pragmatic Hero, Badass Bookworm, The Gunslinger, Master Swordsman, Friendly Sniper and The Musketeer; in all honesty, Malick is a smart and polite individual, polite even to the enemies that he combats (Though if they push his buttons, this polite demeanor will fade away). If he is in a battle or something of the sort, he will calmly assess the situation and come up with a plan. Whilst not as snarky as Elijah, he will not resist to say a witty comment whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Malick relies a lot less on magic in his fighting style than Elijah does, who usually incorporates it into his attacks; instead, Malick uses a combination of swordplay and gunplay. His sword and gun (Based off of Glamdring from LOTR and the Colt 1851 Navy Revolver respectively) are both magical in their own rights, as Malick can manipulate his sword to strike opponents and perform other actions even when not holding it, in a way similar to telepathy, whilst his gun fires 'magical bullets', regular bullets enhanced with magical energy that can pierce armor and track targets, among other functions; the strength of his bullets can be adjusted by controlling the flow of magical energy sent into them, and can range from normal bullet strength to the strength of a 50 caliber.

So, what do you all think so far? Too OP or Garry Stue-ish? Anything needing to be changed or improved?

To be honest, the final boss fights in II had buildings being sliced in half, destroying a space station thing, destroying a dragon-like starship and blocking a Touhou amount of lasers before defeating the final boss.

So, it's all about how you write it.

You gotta start somewhere.

[up][up]This. OP and Sueness doesn't happen in a vacuum, it's a function of how the character interacts with everything else.

I think he'd see the potential in causing a rift, on the off chance they DID manage to escape (which idk if he'd account for, seeing how he didn't in the movie, but hey).
Syndrome acts like a classic supervillain in many ways, like getting caught monologing and alienating his assistant because he was less concerned about her life than Mr. Incredible was. So I could totally see him saying stuff that would drive a rift just to be a dick.

Although I suppose that's irrelevant if your new angle is outright replacing the old, instead of just supplementing it. Not entirely clear on that.

Oh, the new angle is a combination of both. He still brings up the Door to Darkness, but he adds salt to the wound by then bringing up the new stuff, too and... maybe hints that Riku's being tracked still. Still debating on that.

You know...the new Darth Vader comic features as one of its antagonists a scientist who seeks to prove that the Force is obsolete through technology, and has created several technologically enhanced warriors to replace Vader.

Maybe go a similar route with Syndrome? Proving superpowers and magic obsolete by making technology that's just better?

I had ideas for some AU fanfics crossing Kingdom Hearts with classic tabletop RPG's. There will not be any Disney characters in these crossovers, but the Square Enix characters shall remain in, including the Final Fantasy ones.

I'm thinking of doing a crossover with either the original Dungeons And Dragons from 1974 (complete with all the Early-Installment Weirdness that Original D&D had) or with 1991's Vampire The Masquerade

[up][up] She's the thirteenth member like Roxas and deconstructs Mary Sue tropes like Xion but won't be sympathetic. At all. This is also to contrast the new Organization XIII who for the most part are tragic anti-villains.

The New Organization XIII is one of the new groups that are apart of the Legions of Chaos because they were really small and were going to be utterly destroyed if they didn't. Thanks to them increasing the Heartless and Nobody populations to make more Engima, people who gone through the whole Heartless/Nobody thing who keep their powers and said powers are evolving as the story goes on.

I want to portray them as a group except 3 of them are a group of tragic villains. I was thinking of having Xehanort experiment on them. And by experiment, I mean brutally torture.

If I was going to do a Kingdom Hearts/Final Fantasy crossover fic with one of the following tabletop RPG's, which one should I pick?

I want the initial party of protagonists to consist of Sora, Riku, Yuffie Kisaragi, and Squall Leonhart. Other characters from Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy XV, and the Dead Or Alive fighting game series may also appear in both major and minor roles.

Either D&D (simply on virtue of it being the most popular) or Shadowrun (for mere merit of having a nice actiony pace for Sora)

I: A dark messiah who believes what he and his organization is doing is right, regardless of how many lives are ruined. I was going to have him show up as a Kaworu expy and have him be The Man Behind the Man. He's actually lovers with Number II and is an actually devastating Battle Couple with her. He has control over fire and ice. He also uses two swords at the same time which he can combine in a BFS or a BFG.

II: The Face of the group and the acting leader of the new Organization XIII. I was going to have her be a subversion of the Rei Ayanami expy trope by having her be outgoing and generally being really friendly. As stated before they are a Battle Couple in a Guys Smash, Girls Shoot vibe though one of her weapon's forms has bayonet and is long enough to be used as spear. She has control over water and lightning, her weapon's forms are two pistols, a railgun and a sniper rifle.

I'll post more when I'm off of job training.

[up][up][up][up]I'd probably go for D&D, since the rest are pretty grimdark for somewhere Sora's supposed to be romping through. Unless that's the point, in which case rock on.

@Alchemical Assassin: I actually was responding to you when I was talking about Sueness and OP not happening in a vacuum. Make your guys as badass as you like, as long as you can still challenge them somehow.
