This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

Looking through at the examples section, it seems that the Disgaea entry has quite a good one:
—>SARDINE! You want to know the secret to my power? It's the sardines. Eat them, and you will grow stronger as well.
How does it compare to the Popeye? Or the current?

I had found a number of page quotes that seemed fit for discussion:
- Badass Teacher: Too long, basically a scene recap. No idea for a better quote yet.
- Gladiator Games: Too long, goes on for a paragraph. The Quotes tab has some options, but almost all of them are just as long, if not longer.
- The Abridged Series: Too long, basically a scene recap. No idea for a better quote yet.
- Eight Legged Freaks: Two quotes. I'm inclined to keep the first.
- Threads: Two quotes. I'm inclined to keep the first.
- Afterlife Tropes: Two quotes. I'm partial to both.
- Uniqueness Value: Two quotes. I'm inclined to keep the second, which is much more emotive.
- Blind Without 'Em: Two quotes, but they can just be merged; it's apparently from the same scene.
- Sssssnake Talk: Two quotes. I'm inclined to keep the first, because I think a straight example demonstrates it better than a lampshade.
- Academy Award: I think that illustrates Oscar Bait, not the award ceremony or its reputation itself.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"- Badass Teacher: There's an El Goonish Shive quote that might work.
- Abraham: Feigned frailty, no "En guarde"... Have you no honor?
Raven: The lives of my students are more important. Besides which, I did warn you.
- Abraham: Feigned frailty, no "En guarde"... Have you no honor?
- Gladiator Games: The BIONICLE one isn't bad, but I'd like to find something better.
- "You honor the arena with your combat. May your swords and shield preserve the peace."
- — Raanu, BIONICLE
- "You honor the arena with your combat. May your swords and shield preserve the peace."
- The Abridged Series: Maybe it could just be cut down a bit.
- Eight Legged Freaks: First one.
- Threads: First one.
- Afterlife Tropes: First one.
- Uniqueness Value: Second one.
- Blind Without 'Em: Eh. I guess we can merge the quote into one, but it feels like just repeating the name. I know it's not, but it still feels like that.
- Sssssnake Talk: First one.
- Academy Award: Agreed, does not demonstrate. Maybe the standard parody of "I'd like to thank the Academy" would be better.

@Adept: I like that.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettAlright. I made the change, and moved the X-men quote to the subpage.

I don't talk soft, that's the other guy.None from me.
Done, except for Blind Without 'Em. What's the compressed version of the quote?
Listed further down the page as well, it'd look like this:
—>Velma: My glasses! I can't see without my glasses!
Johnny Bravo: My glasses! I can't be seen without my glasses!
—>— Scooby-Doo and Johnny Bravo Crossover episode "Bravo-Dooby-Doo"
I've combined the quote.
Sufficiently Analyzed Magic and Scientifically Understandable Sorcery have the same page quote. The latter article is short and murky, and has 12 examples; whereas Sufficiently Analyzed Magic is clearly written and has over 100 examples. The quote is not just restating the trope name, it is also communicating the idea of the trope. I think it should stay there.
It is kind of too bad that the page name, page quote, and page image all say "sufficiently analyzed magic". They are all referring to the same idea, though.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Passion Is Evil has two quotes, and they're both sort of long.
Fangs of the relentless thousandI prefer the first quote, as the second one relies on potholing words to show why the passion mentioned in it is evil.
Agreed and changed.
The Jeeves have two quotes. Not sure which one is better.
First one.
New theme music also a boxA while ago, the quote on Theatre. The King And I changed from a very long excerpt of "Getting to Know You", to a few lines of "Shall We Dance?" Does it seem worth worrying that the current quote doesn't make sense out of context?
I like the old one better. Have the changed been discussed here by any chance?
Also the quote in Beast and Beauty is only restating the Trope Name, three times. Barring any suggestions, would anyone object its removal?
I think The King and I was brought up, but I don't remember any discussion on it as such.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettI went ahead and changed the quote to a shorter excerpt of "Getting To Know You".
I tagged the change, just in case.
Any more thoughts about Beast and Beauty?
"As the years passed, he fell into despair and lost all hope. For who could ever learn to love a beast?"
+1
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
Eh, considering that the only other one I can think of is the apple from the maze in the Yu-gi-oh Capsule Monsters movie, and that quote would need way too much context tucked after it to explain why it's an example of the trope, it might be the only workable one.
