All Purpose Digimon Fanfiction Thread

As much as I want Tagiru to die in a fire (after five years of being in said fire), I believe he did realize that as soon as his first hunt.

If he didn't then, then he did when he defeated Quartzmon.

Does anyone know of any Digimon fanfiction that crosses over all the series together without woffing or exaggerating anything? I tried reading one fic that tried the idea but stopped reading it when Kiri didn't get along with Koichi and then got slapped by her brother for getting emotional and not trusting him. Yeah that didn't sit right with me.

So I mentioned this idea a long time ago.

It's still being thought out. I actually wrote up some background info for it a while back. It's a sort of Fusion Fic / Alternate Universe, taking characters and concepts from every single one of the Animated shows, along with some manga series as well.

This was inspired by Digimon World Redigitize; well more like re-inspired, since like I mentioned before, I'd had a vague idea of it in my head for years.

The basic idea is to use minor characters and humans without partners as the Main characters. I already got Takato's cousin Kai as the hero, Ken's brother Osamu / Sam, as the second character, and either Thoma's little sister Relena or Rei Saiba as the female lead.

The plan for the digimon is a digimon from each series (or barring that, something that hasn't been used yet); representing three types —Vaccine, Data, and Virus— and three types — Dragon or Reptile, Beast, and a third category that varies depending on what I'm leaning towards.— in a homage to how Tamers and Savers did it.

I'd like to use some characters from Redigitize as well, but since there are no damned translations of the game (well there are two, but they don't go very far) I have no idea what they are like, and it's kinda brought the whole thing to a halt.

Despite that, I'm still figuring things out for when I do get that info I'm looking for. One other problem I've hit upon is the main three digimon:

I have 2 possible trios:

Guilmon, Palmon, and Liollmon for the first group.

Veemon, Renamon, and Hagurumon for the second.

Veemon would use the Veedramon line (I finally realized what a non-Zero Veedramon looks like, Hagurumon would evolve into a Virus type Guardromon (the wiki says it can be Virus, and I hope that's accurate), then Assaultmon, and then Rajinmon, and Liollmon would have either Panjamon / Iceleomon or Grappleleomon as his Ultimate / Perfect, and then Saber Leomon as his Mega.

The reason I'm alternating between the two groups is as follows:

1) I like both Renamon and Guilmon, but I don't want to use two digimon from the same series with the main trio, so I can't use them both.

2) I also want variety of attacks, so I want to avoid two digimon both using fire attacks. Veedramon's V-breath arrow is kinda a Fire attack, but his Wiki entry describes it as a beam of heat, and I'm wondering if that would count, since Kyuubimon has a strong Fire motif.

3) I'm desperately trying to avoid overlapping attributes as well, so only one Virus, one Vaccine, and one Data type, and I want the Digimon to stay a single attribute across their entire line. It's surprisingly hard to find digimon who don't change from Virus to Vaccine or something else at one point.

4) Liollmon is great, except that as a lion digimon, he carries the curse of his kind and I keep expecting people to ask me if he's going to die at some point (provided I ever actually get this thing written)

Also, depending on which trio I end up using, I'll go with either Relena or Rei. If I go with the Guilmon group, I'll use Rei. If I go with the V-mon group, I use Renamon. That's because using Renamon with Relena would be a good nod to her brother. Also, Veemon with Kai would be cool (a reptilian digimon who's final evolution is a Royal Knight? Just like his cousin eh?]]

So there we go. I'm hoping to get some possible advice on which three to use. Even then, I've also considered going in a slightly different direction, and just using Agumon and Gabumon so I can give the main character Omegamon, who I also love due to blatant Awesomeness.

I haven't even mentioned everything I know I have planned for this fix (I've barely scratched the surface really), but these are the issues that are hanging me up right now. I can't do anything about using the Re-digitize characters, but I can at least fix this.

So, Guilmon, Palmon and Liollmon, or Veemon, Renamon, and Hagurumon?

Huh, there was a general Digimon fanfic thread? That other thread was kinda redundant, then...

I've got a crossover with Tamers and Fate Stay Night called Fate/Digital Hazard. It's up to the fourth chapter, where Rika and Renamon basically go turncoat and join Caster's side, plus I've been working on other stuff, you know how it is. I've also been planning another Fate crossover, except this time with Savers. Considering the Digital World Expedition and the Fourth Holy Grail War both occur ten years before the main events of both Savers and Fate Stay Night, I'm surprised I didn't think of it sooner.

I've also been considering a Savers / Attack On Titan crossover, but I'll pass on that until Titan is actually finished, and I have enough on my plate as it is. Regardless, for fun, I decided to write up a brief snippet on a possible scene...

This would probably be followed by an absolute massacre outside the guardhouse, and then GeoGreymon and Titan!Eren beating the absolute crap out of each other.

I'm curious as to what Masaru is doing in the Attack On Titan world. The Digvice is way too advanced for that world.

And his ability to punch out things bigger than him gives him quite a higher survivor rate then any other character.

Also, anyone got some advice for me on my question above?

So, not to be a nag or anything, but is there any advice for me on that thing I mentioned?

I don't think I'll be writing the story for a long while (not until I get that bit of info from Redigitize I'm looking for, and that won't happen until the english patches are done, or it gets translated) but it would help a lot.

Shin Megami Tensei / Digimon crossover.

The two series share a few concepts actually, particularly the fusion part.

Hell, Tamers, Frontier and Savers even used the concept of humans either fusing with or becoming digimon, just like humans can fuse with Demons.

Digimon can crave digisoul instead of Magtetite or Macca or whatever it is they like.

And the digivices are a lot like Comps.

It works pretty damned well truthfully.

I recall a crossover between Digimon Xros Wars and Pokémon Black and White (zone transfer+entralink=hilarity ensues), though the site went down and the last chapter started with Lilithmon capturing Cheren, Bianca, Hilbert and Hilda. It ended with Xros Heart being defeated by the Bagra Army. There was also a sequel fic to the V-tamer crossovers where Taichi and Zeromaru teamed up Imperialdramon Fighter Mode, Justimon and Aldamon.

I've searched to see if either story was being continued elsewhere but The Teacherof All Things is the only thing that's caught my interest. It's basically What If? Digimon Adventure was a direct sequel to Digimon V-tamer 01, taking the aforementioned V-tamer sequel in the opposite direction.

Ryouga Hibiki Quest: A quest that I'm running over on Sufficient Velocity. The quest is about Ryouga Hibiki of Ranma One Half as he wanders around perpetually lost. Currently, it is crossing over with Digimon Adventure. You can find the start of the quest here. However, the crossover with Digimon doesn't start until here, although there are a handful of hints that it's coming up scattered throughout the quest before that.

So, with Digimon World Redigitize finally fan-translated, I've been catching up on the info I want from it.

Not only that, but someone has also done some initial fan translations of Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth (though it's only three parts, and the dude might have stopped now that the game is coming to North America), so I was able to learn a bit about that game as well that I might use in my idea later.

Maybe, sometime in the next century, this might actually get done.

I came up with a joke idea (if I mentioned this before, feel free to tell me) where Lilimon sues Lilamon for stealing her Mega/Ultimate form.

That's what happens when two digimon share the same potential final form.

I've recently started working on a Digimon fanfic of my own. Before this, I've mostly just written scenes out of context, just for fun, without any intent to post stuff online anywhere, but I'm thinking maybe it's about time to take the next step and commit to an ongoing fic.

With that in mind, I have no idea whether to use dub names and terminology in this fic, or whether I should use their original counterparts. I get the feeling that using dub terms would make the fic more accessible to a wider audience. Then again, I'm not part of any Digimon communities aside from the Digimon General thread here, so I don't know how hardcore the online Digimon fandom is about sticking to Japanese terms. Or is there some sort of optimal split, like using dub terms (eg. "Digivolve" instead of "Evolve") but Japanese names (eg. "Tailmon" instead of "Gatomon")? Do any of you have advice on how to proceed?

When I was writing, I used all the dub names and terms, honestly, and only one person gave me any grief, but that person was a terrible writer and kept telling me to ship Izzy and Mimi even though I repeatedly said it wasn't a shipping fic. so make of that what you will.

I'm personally going to advocate generally using the English names and terminology, with occasional exception for cases of particularly terrible bowdlerization (such as Lilithmon being renamed to Laylamon).

Hm, I'm torn. Do I go full anime-look in my fic by giving one of the kids green hair, or pick a more normal color?

Thanks for the quick replies. I'll stick to dub terms, then (aside from Digimon Natural Ability, because Digisoul sounds at least a dozen times better).

Digimon's human characters have had, for the most part, pretty realistic hair colors. I can only think of a few exceptions off the top of my head.

Though I'm rather torn on whether to keep my villain or change to another Digimon...it's a Mephistomon for now (and he gains power by doing the Tamers "absorb data to get stronger" thing) but idk if that'll be enough of a threat at the end, though I guess it will?

So I had an idea.

Basically it's a rewrite of Digimon Adventure tri., but writing it around the idea that the secret organization is more or less out to retcon the events that occurred in 2002 and the epilogue that happened later. We're talking taking out the 02 Destined to blanking memories from the Adventure Destined (and handing the old Digivices to TK and Kari while they're at it), and probably brainwashing Ken so that he could become the Digimon Emperor again.

With the ideas I have so far:

• The group will consist of a guy named Kurama with a male Renamon as his partner, and Maki's probably going to have a Dorumon as her partner... and he's a little hesitant to carry out the tasks she gives him.
• Daigo's probably going to have a hit put out for him for even encouraging Tai to go the route he took in the epilogue.
• At some point, it'll be revealed that they already took out the Frontier and Xros Wars/Fusion Destined.
• And because I sort of want to point this out, Tai's reluctance to fight Alphamon ends up gravely injuring Meiko, resulting in him pretty much leaving the team after Matt gives him crap.
  • And why not, Meiko will be revealed to be an artificial human made to give Matt someone to love (The fight with Alphamon was going to be Matt's Rescue Romance, but Tai fucked it up by having Vietnam flashbacks to a stupid phone) and probably get killed at the end of the fanfic.
• Not sure if I'll involve an Expy of Mykan.

Might want to wait until we fully know what happened to the 02 kids first before you do this.

Or what the purpose of the bad guys really is....or who the villain is anyway, since we can't be sure if Alphamon is really an enemy or not.

It's already gonna be a full AU fic with all the Ron The Death Eaters I'm throwing around.
