Just gonna bring this from Space Battles, in case anyone might want to use them.

Arrival/MGSV: No warfare or alien shenanigans needed, just a little thing where Louise meets Code Talker. Not to expect anything special of it, but it'd be interesting to see them exchange experiences around linguistics involved in conflicts. He doesn't appear in the chronologically later games, but it seems reasonable to think the parasites would still keep him alive for a few more decades, and she might imagine some interesting ideas between the Heptopod language and the vocal parasites.

Misfile/REDLINE: This one is a bit long but basically, the Misfile crew get transplanted to the Redline universe when a second and bigger misfile occurs, and must win a bet: win the Redline race to get their old universe back, or loose and disappear.

At some point Rumisiel is convinced to sneak into the heaven archives to fix at least Ash's misfile and turn him back to a boy. And he's actually pulling it off correctly. But you know, shit happens. And the entire universe gets misfiled.

Ash (still a girl), Emily (still younger) and Rumi (this one is totes not his fault!) find themselves in the Redline universe, in front of Satan having tea with either Machinehead (because he's that good of a host and for his racing experience) or the Supergrass Princess (because of course she would relish on how even beyond batshit insane things are), in the former's mansion. Turns out this last mess rewrote the entire universe, as it follows heaven's archives; and now that these are FUBAR, an entire (insane, mismatched) reality from the mess has taken place instead of their own. Satan has his own archives in hell, much more well managed than heaven's, that he can use to recreate the previous reality and turn Ash and Emily back to how they were before if so they wish, but the big cheeses at heaven are opposed to it, considering that their archives are the only ones to be, period, and that there has been enough messing around with them for eternity. So, Satan made a bet. Machinehead, or Princess, graciously agrees to help the Misfile team get started in the Yellowline races and start ranking up until being eligible for Redline, and depending on their final position in the next one, his archives will be used alongside the old ones: both realities are preserved, everyone wins. Otherwise, heaven keeps the Redline version for eternity and only Rumisiel is left in existence.

Ash freaks out because a) "you want me to race in this freaking unholy excuse of a wheeled war impersonating as an illegal race?!", b) "is that my old male me!?!?", and c) only one Ash can exist, and whatever happens with the archives, both will race for the right to be the one that stays.

Not sure how else to follow it as Misfile is still unfinished and I wouldn't know where to even start writing about semi realistic driving, but I imagined things like: Ash taking notes off Sweet PJ as they both seem to share similar sensitivities on cars and racing ethics (Ash prefers to rely on skill and terrain knowledge while JP never adds anything to his car that isn't directly related to driving in a world of gun/missiles/chain-missile-hooks sociopathic nuts, and both are showoffs when pushed too hard), and Emily off Sonoshee; Emily navigating for Ash in the copilot seat; PJ and Sonoshee racing as a 2 car team (no rules in Redline, anyway), trolling the Misfile team while they try to teach them the ropes, and being awesome all the while; Ash facing his gender insecurities with a very present, sentient and strongly disagreeing male himself that doesn't want to disappear; Rumisiel and Cassiel looking into a connection between the Archon murders and the Big Misfile; and an impromptu heaven vs hell war or skirmish in the middle of the already heated Redline. And Machinehead officially retired but still racing in the Redline to make sure things are interesting. Lesser Misfile characters may or may not appear. And of course, lots of hot-blooded deadly crazy illegal racing maneuvers between the obligatory coming of age making-sense-of-our-lifes dialogues.

Off and on I often think of a Pokémon fanfic idea I had since forever but never followed through with, adventures focusing on two trainers, Will & Fuka.

Will is a Spirited Competitor from Gold/Silver's Blackthorn City who loves a challenging battle above all else, but has no interest in going the To Be a Master route himself. Indeed, he turns into a complete whiner at the prospect of facing Gym Leaders because he regards them as inherently beatable and, thus, no fun to battle no matter how strong they are. I've had a roster in mind for him since roughly the Red/Blue days. Headed by a Jigglypuff, and including a Spearow and a Cubone. As the generations have progressed, a Nuzleaf and Monferno have since been added. Nothing special behind the name, desite my usual preference for puns. I've just always thought Will was a good heroic sounding name ever since I played Illusion of Gaia.

Fuka Rubens is a Genki Girl who adores cute Pokemon, only her taste in Pokemon is the thing that, way back when, inspired me to create the Fluffy Tamer trope. In other words, her defintion of cute includes fangs, scales, and/or the capacity to breathe fire. Her main Pokemon is a Gyarados, and she can scold blood deep enemies Zangoose and Seviper into submission and obedience. Fuka comes from Japanese words for fear and cute (kyofu and kawaii), and in-story she's named after her mother's first/original pokemon, a Gible (or Fukamaru). Flip the N in Rubens and you get Rubeus, as in Hagrid.

The thing that's kept me from ever writing it is a lack of real plot to go with it. There's a few one-off ideas, like a tournament where Will becomes a dark horse and has to deal with the sabotage attempts of a trainer who thinks Second Place Is for Losers. Or a Safari Zone trip where he gets his Chimchar/Monferno and Fuka tames her Zangoose & Seviper.

A Star Wars fanfic: Commodore Davin Vance of Corellia, Admiral Ackbar's best fighting captain and the greatest human commander in the Alliance Navy is given command of Admiral Raddus's bloodied fleet from Rogue One and embarks on a quest to find the lost Katana Fleet, or the "Dark Force," a lost armada of cutting-edge dreadnoughts from the late Republic's final decades that could bolster the Rebellion, which finally has the initiative in the Galactic Civil War after years of fighting tooth-and-nail against the Empire. The trouble is, he's a total Blood Knight in an organization that tends towards Martial Pacifist, which means he has few allies in the dominant political leadership of the Rebellion, which he hates and looks down on. Meanwhile, the Empire, under Admiral Zsinj, is searching for the same thing, setting both fleets on a game of cat and mouse, and eventually a collision course when the Dark Force is finally found.

Central Theme is being Born in the Wrong Century: Commodore Vance is a Blue Blood from a prominent and now nearly-extinct Old Republic family who really wishes he was alive when the Republic was mighty, fighting against the Sith; his nemesis, Zsinj, is an Old Soldier from the Republic's Judicial Starfleet and is an Officer and a Gentleman in a service that's filled with Sociopathic Soldier types; his political rival Senator Nower Jebel is a soft aristocrat who thinks the Old Republic's effete and peaceful political culture has any place in the Age of the Empire; and the fleet of dormant starships that forms the basis of the plot is literally from a bygone era.

Getting caught up with season ten of Doctor Who and also slowly getting back into My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is making me revisit my own personal "Doctor Whooves". I've done one story with them, two if you count what's basically a pony version of "An Unearthly Child". Though my twist of a preference for the Classic Doctors (my one story is the Seventh Doctor and his companion, the Alicorn Celestia of Equestria).

That said, the idea I'm thinking on is actually for the Twelfth Doctor, with Pinkie Pie in place of Clara Oswald and going into how her plotline (diving into the Doctor's timeline and causing duplicates of her to protect the Doctor across Time and Space)) and the episode "Too Many Pinkie Pies" (where Pinkie uses a magical pond to duplicate herself and creating exactly what the title suggests).

This idea has been pestering me for a while but it's a little unwieldy...

Basically, rewriting Marvel's Canon around 'Secret Empire'. Asking one simple question (on a meta-textual (?) level): "What if it had actually been planned from the start?"

So, Hydra infiltrates the United States and the superhero community over the course of several decades (beginning in either the 40s or 60s - haven't decided which). Then, around the Current Year (2012 to 2015, subject to change) after all the main heroes have started popping their clocks or going missing and the younger/inexperienced legacy characters have taken over, Hydra makes its move.

It would essentially be a peice of creative criticism of the direction that Marvel has recently been going in, and the whole 'Nazi Cap' controversy. Problems that I'd have to solve would be: how to best manage the necessary economy of original characters and how to maintain consistent characterisation for the Hydra agents (without any convenient mind-control excuses).

The following idea(s) are inspired by the "ship of the line" challenge on twisting the helmouth, I'd write them myself but I don't know enough about stargate sg-1 to do the idea justice, though I'd love to read other people's attempts:

"Its a normal day at the SGC [well, as normal as it ever gets] when all the sudden the alarms go off and there's a supposedly fictional starship in orbit around earth."

I'd like to have it that this is the result of someone transforming into a character rather then a space anomaly induced crossover. Though not involving the buffyverse is both acceptable and preferred. It could be the actions of a random omnipotent being, or simply not be explained at all. Also the ship that appears should be impressive and well known, and at least able to out do gouold (sp?) technology.

Some specific ships I'd personally like to see are:

The "Great Fox" from the Star Fox games

The "Blue Typhoon" from Sonic X (preferably with some well written ship to ship combat unlike what canonically happened in episode 61).

The "Spear of Adun" from Starcraft II

I know this is very specific, so feel free to be inspired by it however you like. I'd love to see the result.

I recently re-watched Avatar the Last Airbender.

I want to write a prequel story from Iroh's point of view.

The idea won't leave my head. I want to write his entire journey home from the Earth Kingdom after he lost his son, Lu Ten in the siege of Ba Sing Se, and pulled back from the battlefield.

It's going to be heavy on the angst for sure but there will be bright spots too.

I'm in a sort of turbulent place in real life right now so maybe this is the outlet I need.

I really need to get this out and so I hope that at least someone will take notice of this and reply— In the midst of planning ahead for a future part of my American Dragon fan made sequel series, I have once again reached an impasse in a very important plot point; for you see, at some point in the future of this particular story arc, I was going to have Jake Long be placed within the confines of a machine that actually places him on the inside of dream world of sorts, which shows him a whole world where everyone in his life is living their lives without him and are apparently glad that he is gone from their lives, even lamenting about how disappointing and sad a character he was to them and everything. Now the point of this particular part of the story was to give Jake’s enemies a means to remove him from the equation in order to grant them the freedom to attack Lao-Shi, Fu-Dog and all of the rest of them, since they all viewed Jake as the only real threat to their initial plans.

However, I’ve encountered at least two problems with this scenario, which is one that I can’t go back on now, by the by, and here they are;

1. The point of Jake’s little dream sequence was to crush his spirit and to strip him of his will to fight and to go on by showing the heartbreakingly negative views about who he is as a person coming from just about every single person he knows and loves. To cause him to feel hurt and betrayed by all of them through no fault of his own. However, my ever-on-the-move mind keeps trying to turn this into a ‘Ghost of Christmas yet to come’ type of moment where Jake is shown things that reflect on the kind of person that he needs to stop being if that makes sense. And that is not my intention

2. Then there is also the matter of just how Jake will respond to all of this, I mean sure; having him lose complete and total faith in everyone around him is a gimme, but, i have also come up several other different possibilities for what should happened as a result of that—

A. Jake becomes so angry and vicious that he becomes violent and is ready to attack anyone at any given moment

B. Jake just decides to angrily lash out everyone

C. Jake just decides to stop interacting with people in general and just sits there, without talking to anyone, showing no signs of the cheerful type of person that he used to be

D. Jake is still left in the hands of the enemy and is locked up tight on the inside of some prison of some sort

E. Jake is taken away far-far away from New York City by the enemy and is left somewhere all by himself

F. Jake simply runs away all by himself trying to find out where he belongs

Now the problem with these ideas are as followed—

A-B. Jake would have to apologize for his aggressive and incredibly violent behavior

C. It makes no sense that he would continue to live somewhere that he didn’t feel like he was welcomed at or that he would continue to be around people who he felt did not want him

D. It feels kind of depressing for Jake to spend a very long time in a prison cell with no one looking for him

E. People would be asking him why he didn’t make any attempts to try and come back home

F. People would be saying that he abandoned his role as a protector

Please can someone help me out on these problems?

Why not have the machine be the prison? Have Jake be trapped in a dream world where he's gone and no one misses him, while the villains believe their free to do as they please and Jake's friends and family search for him?

[up] I’ve been thinking about what you just suggested to me and, honestly, I feel that the idea most certainly has merit. It even offers me a pretty good chance to work in yet another important plot point to the story. However, it also does present yet another issue to deal;

For you see: yet another aspect of the whole ‘Jake gets trapped inside of a dream where nobody misses or cares about him through no fault of his own’ is the fact that the rest of cast was supposed to become enlightened by the results of Jake’s little experience and realize that they have all not been treating Jake as well or as fairly as they initially believed that they were.

Jake’s parents and Lao-Shi were all supposed to realize that they have been putting far too much pressure and expectations upon the boy and have been very sympathetic or understanding to his own issues and feelings

While Fu-Dog, Trixie and Spud were all supposed to realize that, while they truly did want to be there for Jake, they too were not as understanding or sympathetic to his plights, troubles and POV as they probably should have been.

And finally, his little sister, Haley, was supposed to finally be made to realize that she had been going too far with her playful teasing and that she too should be more sympathetic and understanding of what Jake’s life has initially been like.

Hmm... Alright, I've got two ideas for that:

The first idea is that there's a TV/monitor on the machine that shows Jake's dream, so the villains can watch his spirit break. The ones rescuing him watch the monitor and see what he's experiencing, which they later tell everyone else about.

The second is that they rescue him and have no idea what he went through. Getting rescued actually reassures him a bit; if they didn't care about him, they wouldn't rescue him, right? But that doubt is still in the back of his mind, and he wouldn't tell anyone about it. Eventually it'd reach a boiling point and he'd lash out, and then everyone finds out what happened.

So this is only a half-baked idea - there’s a lot of things I need to fully consider - but I may want to write a Deconstruction, or at least a Darker and Edgier take, on soul mate A Us. Basically, Kirishima and Bakugou are soul mates, despite the fact that they are merely close friends, and neither are at all interested in being romantic or intimate with the other. Unfortunately, once they do become close friends, every time they’re separated, the other’s voice manifests into their mind and essentially forcibly encourages them to develop romantic feelings for each other and make a move. Naturally, things don’t go so well after that.

I still need to really think about the worldbuilding aspect of it and how the phenomenon can manifest in the first place. Depending on how Quirks and whatnot in the My Hero Academia universe work, I may just make this an original story instead. I also don’t want it to be too grim dark or anything, but, again, if it goes too far in that direction, it’ll be an original fic.

In Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Darth Vader tells luke, if they couldn´t turn Luke to the Dark Side, then maybe they will be more successful turnin his sister, Leia, to the dark side. I always wondered how they would try to do that, and what would happen if Leia actually becomes evil.

The same thing with Rey from the new Star Wars-movies. How and why would she turn to the dark side?

BTW I think this forum is very interesting, I really enjoyed reading your thoughts on various topics!

I'm slowly going through with a Stardew Valley diary fic. I'm trying to keep the diary entries short and in-character - it's written from the perspective of Penny. I'm trying to keep it true to her backstory, and while I plan to ship her and the farmer, I'm starting things off with "this new guy moved in, he's pretty nice. Anyway today I saw Maru in town, and we talked about..." I don't want the diary to be all about how great and amazing this farmer dude is, it's a plot that develops between different events in Stardew Valley.

And I'm working on giving the farmer something of an Archie personality. I've seen too many love-at-first-sight self-insert fanfics like this, including a good few for Harvest Moon - I don't do self-inserts.

And with events, I'm thinking of going beyond the diary format and writing a more traditional first-person fanfiction. The diary stuff is past tense and talking about doing things, while the events are intended to be in-the-moment musings coming straight from Penny as they happen.

Alright idea, modifying the timeline for Touhou. Reisen instead arrives just Eo SD. Instead of making Eientei her refugee, it is instead the Hakurei Shrine that takes her in. Reimu Hakurei gains a diligent worker for the Shrine and this throws off everything as Reisen Hakurei (formally Reisen U. I) tags along with Reimu helping to solve all of the incidents. I'll attempt to mix in some fluff as well. I'm open to the idea of shipping and I can justify this scenario.

So, I don't know if I'll ever get around to writing this, but I was thinking about how to do a crossover between My Hero Academia and western superhero comics. In particularly, I'm thinking of rolling both DC and Marvel into one to make up America's superheroes. There is a possibility that just one would fit better (in which case, I'd probably go with Marvel), but I really do want to do both.

I'd do what I could to integrate the verses together. For example, Quirks would probably be the major source of powers, with heroes who canonically got their powers through accidents or experiments now having them from Quirks. Quirkless heroes, like Batman and Iron Man, would be much more common in America than in Japan, even if they are a minority. I would, however, like to integrate various cosmic and magic stuff in somehow if I could - the Fantastic Four, for example, aren't really the Fantastic Four if they're not exploring other dimensions and the like.

The basic plot would be Class A competing against a similar class of American heroes-in-training in friendly exhibition battle - think the Hunger Games, except it's voluntary and non-lethal, after which (or before, maybe) the Class A kids would basically travel around the U.S. on a field trip, in order to build better relations with the American heroes (there are rumors that the League of Villains is seeking an alliance with American supervillains, so the senior heroes are hoping to build stronger relationships).

Sorry if that all sounds a little haphazard - I had some difficulty summarizing. I'm willing to give some more specific details, but first, anyone have any thoughts?

I don't know much about MHA but a few things came to mind. I'm assuming superheroes with Quirks (i.e. natural-born powers), if they were transplanted into the Marvel universe, would be considered Mutants (in the X-Men sense). With that in mind, and if the Marvel heroes who aren't already Mutants (if you did go with Marvel) all had retconned power origins so they were in-born, that'd be interesting considering the Marvel-verse USA's history of Fantastic Racism against Mutants. Unless you retconned that, as well - which you may want to do if you plan on going in a Lighter and Softer direction. Plus, it'd set up Xavier's school for the gifted as a Western counterpart to the Academy from MHA the name of which I don't recall. :V

In addition, if you wanted to expand the crossover on the Western side of things by bringing in Marvel and DC, I think it'd be a good idea to do the same for the Eastern side and reference other superheroes or superhero-esque characters of Japanese origin, if only to add some flavour. Maybe Tatsunoko Production characters like Science Ninja Team Gatchaman or Yatterman?

I definitely wanted Xavier's School to be the counterpart to U.A., yeah. I actually just read a fic that did something similar, but I think I'd do it considerably differently, particularly if I bring in the DC characters.

In MHA canon, there was discrimination against people with Quirks in the past, but it's long since died out, especially since the majority of the world population now possesses them. I think I'd do the same here, with Xavier and Magneto playing key roles in protecting the Quirky population (Magneto would probably be less of a villain, and more of an Anti-Hero from the start). "Mutant" would have been a word back then, but it's since fallen out of use, because again, the majority of the population now possess Quirks. Xavier has since passed away, with Jean Gray as his successor; Magneto's still around, but has taken to Walking the Earth.

Tatsunoko characters are a good idea, but I'm not very familiar with them, so I'm not sure if I could use them effectively. Maybe they could be past heroes?

One thing that's difficult with DC characters is that a lot of them are aliens, which is territory that MHA hasn't gone into. This shouldn't be too difficult to fix - it'd be easy to make Superman a human who lost his birth parents somehow, and it wouldn't be too hard to make Starfire and Martian Manhunter strange-looking humans. Guys like Thor and Loki would be harder, but I could either integrate Asgard into the world, or make it so that people think it's just a theme they have going for them, but no, they really are Asgardians. And Grant Morrison has practically gift-wrapped a way to bring the New Gods into this setting...

Magic is harder, though - I'd be willing to ignore it, but I really want to use Wiccan, and I don't know what sort of Quirk I could give him without it being extremely overpowered (I could give it an extremely long charge time, I suppose). And of course, I'd love to use the likes of Zatanna and Doctor Strange. Maybe it could be a secret thing?

What do you think?

Oh God! Natural light!
