What the greatest strive for, indeed.

"Mah boi, this YouTube Poop is what the greatest strive for!!"
Ganon, TUBEPOOP: Storymode

TubePoop Storymode (stylized as TUBEPOOP: Storymode) is a series of YouTube Poop collabs hosted by Kneesocks Kirisame, TWM YTP, and Virtua YTP. The first collab (currently) was originally hosted by EditsOfGreatBritain, originally as part of a YouChew festival, with ownership then being transferred over to Kneesocks. The first part was released on December 27th, 2020, and the second part was released on January 13th, 2023, originally slated for a 2022 release.

King Harkinian realizes that Hyrule Castle has no dinner, and after months of famine, Link dies of starvation, so Hark goes on a quest to search for spare Links. Lamentably, all of them are missing, which springs Hark into stealing all of the toasters from the Mushroom Kingdom so he can perform black magic. Unbeknownst to him, Mario and Luigi get onto Hark’s scheme, and then they go on a quest to find the toasters. However, their plans go south after technological threats, memory loss, and the almighty Ganon burden their adventure.

In Part Two, Ganon confronts Michael after catching him and Hark work together, which causes a panicky Hark to hide. After losing his grip, Hark falls into the future, whereas Michael is tortured with a screening of The Wicker Man, to serve his punishment. With their plan moving along swimmingly, Ganon and Frollo then kidnap Hyrulian citizens for their involvement in Ganon's "greatest YouTube Poop". After the prisoners incite a prison-wide breakout, the story intensifies, involving rail-and-road-bound capers, many high-stakes battles with powerful foes, and a confrontation with an all-knowing deity.

These tropes are what the greatest strive for!

    open/close all folders

    Both Installments

  • Big Bad: Ganon is the main antagonist of TUBEPOOP. His villainous plans stem from his failed attempts at making "the greatest YouTube Poop in Koridai."
    • Frollo becomes his assistant in Part Two.
  • Cliffhanger: Both of the collabs use a cliffhanger to end the story:
    • Part One ends with Ganon cornering Harkinian and Michael.
    • Part Two ends off with Tobias, Patrick, Red, Dark Zelda, and Gwonam inside of a spaceship.
  • Death as Comedy: Most of the characters’ deaths are greatly exaggerated and are not meant to be seriously taken.
  • Deep Cover Agent: Maniacal Michael is actually someone sent out by Ganon to seek out Harkinian. Somehow, Michael actually gains Hark’s trust to the point where they become close acquaintances, that is until Ganon finds out in the beginning of Part 2.
  • Fictional Video Game: The series is a video game being played by King Harkinian.
  • Fire and Brimstone Hell: Hell in the TubePoop universe is depicted as a fiery wasteland with lava rivers and dead trees.
  • Inconsistent Coloring: The forced-in Spill Suppression feature in Sony VEGAS' Chroma Key effect gives Gwonam inconsistent colors. For when he’s supposed to be magenta, he is red.
    • Dark Gwonam's carpet is blue, but briefly appears orange when Dark Link reaches the Island Warrior.
  • Our Gods Are Different: While Allah is usually depicted as an Arabic character (letter in this context), he is depicted as the Hindu god Shiva.note
  • Palette Swap: Along with Morshu, recolors of him exist with different colored outfits such as Worshu (blue), Horshu (red), and Dorshu (green). A purple Morshu also appears in Mr. Krabs’ interrogation but is unnamed.
    • Link has a clone of him named Dark Link who looks exactly the same. They are pretty much impossible to tell apart without Dark Link’s ahegao jacket. note
    • A green version of Gwonam is dubbed “Dark Gwonam.”
  • Plot Armor: None of the characters officially die off for good. At least most, or all of the characters have gone to hell/heaven, escape, and shrug things off like it’s a common reoccurrence in their lives.
  • Special Guest: Maniacal Michael from CaptainPlums' videos becomes a recurring character in Part One and Two.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: Both collabs have an ungodly amount of explosions, mostly exaggerated:
    • When the toastermech falls onto the ground, just right after Gwonam and Luigi escape, it explodes. Justified since the mech went under a nuclear meltdown thanks to its core overheating.
    • After Mario and Luigi escape a Wal-Mart, it explodes. Justified, since a bomb was actually in it.
    • Blitzo uses fires a rocket at the pizzeria via a bazooka, and the entire place blows up.
    • Homer causes the wall of the prison to explode when he throws a bottle of Coke and Mentos at it.

    TUBEPOOP: Story Mode Part One
  • Against My Religion: When Link offers Gwonam a trip to the merchant shop to buy some beer, he refuses because he is a Muslim, and therefore cannot drink beer. Gwonam, however, is pulled into it anyway.
    • Allah eventually catches on to Gwonam and takes away his memory because he "changed his mind." This is Truth in Poop, because it is haram to drink alcohol if you’re Islamic.
  • Alternate Universe: The Tubepoop universe has an alternative version of it, which can be visited via one of the toaster teleporters. However, everything is made with MS Paint in that universe.
  • Artistic License – Law Enforcement: Mario gets sent to jail for proclaiming to Sir Topham Hatt that he wants to have sex with his toast. The police wouldn’t arrest someone over such a trivial situation, let alone the fact that it would waste time if there was a real emergency.
  • Berserk Button: Ganon HATES being called a furry. He even threatens to kill Hark and the Mario Bros when they call him a furry.
    • Allah will wipe your memory if you drink beer.
  • Black Magic: King Harkinian resorts to this when all of the Links are gone.
  • Broken Record: Gwonam goes “party, party, party, party…” whenever there is a party. Did we forget to say “party?”
  • Clone Army: Harkinian uses a toaster to make a clone army of Link, but the clones disappear when Dr. Phil insults them.
  • Companion Cube: Consider King Harkinian’s goblet as one. When Mario falls onto it and breaks it, Hark gets very emotional.
  • Cool Shades: Maniacal Michael wears these when he makes his debut.
  • Downer Ending: Ganon captures Maniacal Michael and Hark and then the video ends. Or does it?
  • Dude, Where's Our Car?: When Mario goes into a Chili’s, I.M. Meen teleports into the car and drives off without him. Justified, since the car was actually stolen.
  • Electrified Bathtub: Or Electrified Ocean in this case, Mario dies and gets sent to hell this way when he and a toaster fall into the ocean.
  • Everybody Has Lots of Sex: A bunch of Filthy Franks invade Morshu’s shop and start a “Filthy Frank Gang-Bang,” which involves the Franks killing each other, shoving stools up their asses, and many other unspeakable actions, much to the horror of Harkinian, Michael, and Morshu.
    • Mario can and will fuck your slice of toast, whether you like it or not.
  • Extradimensional Emergency Exit: Maniacal Michael tells Hark and Mario to escape from Satan by jumping into a portal that leads them back into the real world.
  • Eye Pop: King Harkinian’s eyes pop out when Gwonam takes him in a carpet ride.
  • Ghost Memory: Gwonam talks about his fourth birthday as a memory of his but then proclaims that it “wasn’t even his own.”
  • Humongous Mecha: The toastermech, sometimes called the Island Warrior, can be summoned when someone touches an eligible toaster.
  • I'll Kill You!: Ganon utters this when Mario calls him a furry.
    • Dr Phil says this also when he corners Mario and Hark.
    • I.M. Meen mentions how Gwonam is going to die when he gets a hold of him.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: When Gwonam drinks beer, Allah wipes his memory as punishment.
  • Literal Ass-Kicking: Harkinian, Luigi, Mario, and I.M. Meen fight on the island, and one part of the battle involves Luigi kicking Meen’s rear.
  • Oh, Crap!: Mario makes an “Oh, Crap” face after seeing an MS Paint moon headed towards the island in the Paint dimension. Complete with an “uh oh!”
  • Orgasmically Delicious: Exaggerated, as Mario has an uncontrollable lust for toast. He even threatens to fuck Sir Topham Hatt’s slice of toast and gets arrested for it.
  • Random Events Plot: The sequence of events that begins the story is as follows: King Harkinian loses his dinner, he steals toasters to make a new Link, and him and Mario get trapped inside Ganon’s PC.
  • Saved for the Sequel: Ganon’s confrontation against Harkinian and Michael is left off for Part 2.
  • Shoddy Shindig: Gwonam’s party is… underwhelming, to say the least.
  • Smoke Out: I.M. Meen and the two Links escape from the falling Island Warrior via this.
  • Stylistic Suck: The beginning of the actual video is made to look like late-2000’s YTPs, down to the crusty quality to the shoddy sentence mixing.
  • Trapped in TV Land: Of the computer variety, the Mario Bros and Harkinian get trapped inside Ganon’s copy of Sony Vegas by black magic.
  • Trash the Set: Hark and the Mario Bros destroy Ganon’s copy of Sony Vegas using their car.
  • Unfolding Plan Montage: Ganon shows his process of creating Dark Link in this format.
  • Weird Moon: The moon in the MS Paint dimension is literally just the Moon from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, but drawn absolutely shoddily.

    TUBEPOOP: Story Mode Part Two
  • Accidental Murder: Subverted, as Red intended to kill Blitzo by throwing his knife at him, but he misses and kills Millie instead. Still a win?
  • Air Vent Escape: Mario and Patrick tag along with Red as he plans their escape using the prison air vents.
  • Anyone Can Die: Nobody is safe, even including the main characters.note
  • Balloon Belly: There is a train car full of round-abdomened characters. They’re even used as a weapon in the train battle.
  • Bar Slide: When Link gets agitated at the bartender for not knowing where Maya Fey is, the bartender slides a beer at Link to calm him down.
  • Butt-Monkey: Impa gets shoved into a coffin, gets slammed by Worshu when she opens a port-a-potty’s door, gets her mouth removed, and so many other unfortunate occurrences.
  • The Cameo: Literally any character from any movie or show, hell, even famous/infamous people can appear at any time. They include but are DaBaby, Peter Griffin, and even Nikocado Avacado, just to name a few.
  • Call-Back: During the end of the fight between Homer and Worshu, Agent 47 uses his gun to pistol-whip Worshu. After Gwonam asks why he couldn’t shoot him, Tobias states that he lost all of his ammo back in Hell.
  • Cast Herd: The numerous characters in the saga are split into five separate teams. These include:
    • Team Dinner: Michael and King Harkinian
    • Team Spaghetti: Gwonam, Link, Luigi, and Dark Link,
    • Team Triforce: Impa and Zelda
    • Team Sus: Mario, Red, and Patrick
    • Team Hellfire: Ganon, Frollo, Dahlia Hawthorne
      • Other teams also include Team Jailbird (Worshu, Mr. Krabs, and Derek Savage).
  • Chase Fight: The chase fight in Part Two begins with a car chase and then escalates onto a moving train.
  • Chekhov's Gag: During the train chase, Mario finds a train car with bloated characters inside of it. He runs out of the car, and then later he, Patrick, and Red find Moxxie and then lock him in there, letting him suffer. Moxxie then returns later by throwing the bloated characters at the trio, knocking Mario and Patrick off of a towering train car.
  • Curse Cut Short: Worshu exclaims “Son of a bi-“ until it cuts to Team Spaghetti in Hell with Agent 47.
    • While escaping their cell, Impa says “I’m too old for this shi-“ and then it cuts back to Team Sus.
  • Creator Cameo: In their entry, MLPFun’s persona appears on a tv screen. The cameo is very brief, however.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: After Tobias takes a CD to the chest by Worshu, Luigi blasts a fireball at him and instantaneously gets killed.
  • Death Is Cheap: Some characters die and get sent to hell, but are eventually revived.
  • Disney Villain Death: Moxxie gets smacked by a train signal while fighting, and then he falls off of an extremely tall railcar and into a ravine.
  • The Dragon: Claude Frollo is Ganon’s second-in-command partner-in-crime.
  • Failsafe Failure: Mario pulls the brakes on the train in an attempt to stop it, but it doesn’t actually do anything, and then the train crashes into the other trains.
  • Fetishes Are Weird: Peter Parker is depicted as someone who has an inflation fetish. After the train crashes, Mario goes to Peter for help, but after Peter tells Mario to back off, he proceeds to pull out his dong, and jerk it to a bloated character right in front of him.
  • Filching Food for Fun: When Link goes to the cruise ship cafeteria to get a meal from Dorshu, he realizes he has no money and steals Dorshu’s food, then he eventually runs and crashes into Hungry Pumkin. Pumkin eats Dorshu’s stolen food, Dorshu catches up, and then he throws Link off of the cruise ship into the sea.
  • Fluffy Cloud Heaven: Heaven is portrayed as an endless plain of clouds, and is where Allah lives in the video’s canon.
  • Gag Penis: In the void that grants any and all wishes, Mario wishes for a huge penis. Nothing changed.
  • Getting the Boot: When Link steals food from Dorshu, he catches Link after crashing into Hungry Pumkin. Dorshu then grabs link by the hand, and then throws him off of the cruise ship.
  • Ghost City: The city that Agent 47, Dark Link, and the rest of Team Spaghetti (excluding Link) are located in when they reunite is devoid of life, and gives off an apocalyptic vibe (the static meteors in the background don’t help at all either).
  • Growling Gut: Mario’s stomach rumbles when he gets hungry in the Mushroom Kingdom simulation.
    • Parodied with Link in the cruise ship scene. Instead of growling, Link’s gut literally says “I’m very hungry” when it needs food. Link immediately repeats what it said, with his stomach lampshading this.
    Link’s stomach: I’m very hungry!.
Link: I’m so hungry, I could eat PBG!.
    Link’s stomach: That’s what I fuckin’ said!.
  • The Immodest Orgasm: When Mario has intercourse with his slice of toast, the toast shares its feelings loudly.
  • Improvised Weapon: Moxxie throws many inflated characters from the railcar at Mario and Patrick to knock them off of the train.
  • Land, Sea, Sky: Several team’s journeys involve this:
    • Team Sus escaping I.M.P via car and train.
    • Team Spaghetti ending up in the ocean.
    • The gang operating a flying toastermech.
  • Lost Food Grievance: Exaggerated to a LARGE degree. Derek Bum shoots Mario's toast when he has sex with it, and in response, Mario kills Derek and a bunch of guards.
  • Lotus-Eater Machine: Downplayed, as the numerous characters of the gang wake up in simulations of the real world controlled by the YouTube Poop logo:
    • Mario, Luigi, and Impa wake up in a simulation of the Mushroom Kingdom.
    • Link, Dark Link, and Zelda wake up in the simulation of Hyrule.
    • Red, Agent 47, Dark Zelda, Gwonam, and Patrick wake up in a simulation of a ship from Star Trek.
  • Low Clearance: Moxxie gets defeated when a train signal hits him and causes him to fall off of the train and into a ravine.
  • Made of Iron: Zigzagged, as Mario, Red, and Patrick survive a giant train crash unscathed, but die when they get hit by bullets.
  • Massive Multiplayer Crossover: Outside of the characters used in the infamous Phillips CD-i games, characters from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hitman, and Spongebob Squarepants among others make appearances.
  • No Fourth Wall: After their toaster warps, the gang gets teleported to a white void, and the YouTube Poop logo (who is the controller of all of this) talks to them about why they are even here, and many other self-aware statements.
    • After waking up into a simulation, Zelda, Dark Link, and Link walk to the game room and it shows the events that are transpiring right now on the TV screen. Keep in mind that the whole collab is a video game being played by King Harkinian.
  • No, You: This is said verbatim by Luigi when Worshu threatens to kill him and his friends.
  • Non Sequitur: Maniacal Micheal delivers his lines in one scene in a way that just doesn’t make sense when you put it together with the other scenes he’s in.
Michael:I’m far away. I’m so horrible in all my life. I was thirty years older than me. I fucking hate Harry and my brother.
  • Plot Threads: In Part 2, the pizzeria gets blown up, and the three teams are split into separate arcs. Team Spaghetti and Triforce escape via hijacking a limousine and meeting Sunset Shimmer, with Agent 47 and Dark Link getting seperated. Team Sus escape from I.M.P via train but miraculously fail to do so in a giant derailment.
  • Professional Killers: I.M.P from the Helluva Boss series are the hitmen that Frollo and Ganon hire to assassinate the gang.
  • Regained Memories Sequence: When Gwonam meets Allah again, he is forgiven, and as a result, Allah returns Gwonam’s memories, with a sequence showing his many memories that have unfolded throughout the past collabs.
  • Runaway Train: Team Sus’ getaway train is a barreling runaway when it spots a second train that is about to collide with it. Mario pulls the brakes in an (unsuccessful) attempt to stop the train, but they are of no use, and then the engine and its coaches fly off the rails and crash into the second train.
  • Shout-Out: When Agent 47 shoots at Adolf Hitler in hell, Hitler dodges the bullets in a fashion similar to how Stanley Ipkiss dodges the bullets in a scene from The Mask.
  • Sentient Vehicle: The train in the train battle is manned by itself.
    • A cruise ship with Tom Cruise’s face also makes an appearance.
  • Sequel Escalation: Part Two expands on Ganon’s plans from the first movie, and turns it into an imprisonment nightmare.
  • The Smart Guy: Canonically, Impa is really smart, and has the literal ability to solve everything. Nobody chooses to listen to her though…
  • Special Effects Evolution: CGI animation can be seen in Part Two, such as when the Island Warrior makes an appearance, and when Ganon confronts Michael.
  • Steam Never Dies: The train that Team Sus hops on is pulled by a steam engine, in a time where toaster robots are an actual thing.
  • Traintop Battle: Several elements of the train chase take place on top of the train cars.
  • Tropical Island Adventure: Impa needs to go to the bathroom, and so, the gang ends up on a tropical island which has an outhouse. However, they also meet Worshu, right as Impa opens the outhouse’s door.
  • Two Scenes, One Dialogue: Tobias proclaims that he was sent out to kill Maya Fey, and right before he says “end her pathetic life,” it cuts to Morgan saying the line in his place.
  • Villainous Friendship: Frollo is introduced in Part Two and he and Ganon are quite inseparable.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Dahlia Hawthorne from the Ace Attorney games serves as a shapeshifting robot who can turn into Zelda herself, Stromboli from Pinocchio, and numerous others.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Homer Simpson was a prominent character in the prison scene leading up to the scene where the teams retreat to a cave. After he glitches out for no apparent reason, he is never to be seen again.
    • Atom also tags along with Michael for a majority of his screentime, but when Michael teleports into Maya Fey's apartment, Atom is never to be seen or mentioned again, presumably being left for death on the island.
  • Wraparound Background: This technique is used in some scenes, including Link running from a bunch of wrestlers in a saloon, the train chase, Link running with the food on the cruise ship, and the train chase aftermath.
    • The last example parodies and lampshades this. When Red, Pat, and Mario run past the same derailed train cars, Red notes that something is off, with the camera cutting to the cloned piles of railcars right next to each other.
  • You All Meet in a Cell: Team Sus’ arc in Part Two begins with them plotting their escape in a jail cell.
