Season 1

    Volume 1 
  • When he suddenly appears, Rentarou asks the God of Love if he's a Tokyo Ghoul.
  • The God of Love claims his mistake of adding two extra zeroes to Rentarou's soulmate count was when he was distracted by watching Castle in the Sky.
  • In Episode 2 of the anime, Karane jabs Rentarou repeatedly before saying "You Are Already Dead", which Rentarou lampshades as a reference to Fist of the North Star.
  • Hakari compares Rentarou’s kissing game in Chapter 2 to Liar Game.
    • A montage of Karane hurting Rentarou during said game includes her performing a Kinniku Buster.
  • Karane gives the Vice Principal a modified camel clutch. Rentarou starts to call her Ramenman.
  • Karane delivers Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs while chanting "Baka!" in a manner reminiscent of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

    Volume 2 
  • Chapter 8 has Rentarou imagine himself recreating Raoh's death.
  • In chapter 10, Rentarou compares Kusuri's "human magnetization" drug to something out of Doraemon.
  • The last panel of Chapter 11 mentions Resident Evil.
  • The kissing zombie arc in chapters 12 and 13 is nicknamed KissBiohazard. Rentarou also mentions Resident Evil while being attacked by Shizuka in the infirmary.
    • In the same chapter, Rentarou mentions the Universal Chojin Tag Tournament.
    • In the anime, Nano breaks the doorknob off the closet door and peers through the resulting hole while Rentarou screams in fear, evocative of Jack leering through the broken down door in The Shining.
  • In Chapter 14, the famous "Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!" Catchphrase is misquoted in reference to a flying Shizuka.

    Volume 3 
  • Chapter 16 is entitled "Love Mission: Impossible."
    • Doraemon is mentioned again when Kusuri rhetorically asks if Karane thinks that she (Kusuri) is Doraemon.
    • Kusuri compares being confronted by the dog to something out of Pooh's Hunny Hunt.
    • At the end of the chapter, Rentarou mentions that getting through the infer-red sensors is "impossible even for Tom Cruise".
  • In Chapter 20, Karane quotes Hanzawa Naoki while rubbing Rentarou's stomach.
    • Rentarou claims that both Shizuka and Kusuri are so cute in their hooded outfits that they could get away with claiming that they're from Sanrio.
    • Rentarou mentions Tom Cruise after being spooked by Kusuri hanging down from the upper floor.
  • Chapter 23 (which involves a "Freaky Friday" Flip) is entitled His Name, and the splash page resembles the poster for the movie.
  • In the volume extras, Rentarou namedrops Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind when Kusuri mentions "the bell peppers of a wealthy family".

    Volume 4 
  • In Chapter 24, Kurumi gets a craving for fried egg on toast after hearing people talk about Laputa, and the symbols for the Apple corporation and McDonald's are seen.
  • Rentarou claims that Kurumi's energy consumption rivals Kirby.
  • At the end of Chapter 25, Takeko Super-Deluxe's design is explicitly compared to someone "straight outta the One Piece world".
  • Karane does the Kinniku Buster on Rentarou at one point.
  • In Chapter 26, Nano is compared to Rapunzel while standing on top of a tall platform.
  • In Chapter 27, Takeko's cheating is compared to something out of Kaiketsu Zorori.
  • Chapter 29 shows a penguin character who bears resemblance to Tuxedo Sam (albeit with Big Ol' Eyebrows slapped on top).
  • In chapter 30, the Imagine Spot of Mei laughing with her eyes open bears an uncanny resemblance to Light Yagami pulling an Evil Laugh.
    • In the same chapter, Rentarou clenching his fist bears a strong resemblance to Arthur's fist.

    Volume 5 
  • In Chapter 34, Kusuri tries to use three baseball bats at once, holding one in her mouth, like Zoro. She can be seen performing Zoro's "Oni Giri" in the next panel.
  • In Chapter 35, the harem's rage over Shizuka being mocked causes them all to go Super Smitten. And in Chapter 38, Shizuka's singing, combined with Kusuri's "super-sensitive to cuteness" drug, sends everyone who hears it blasting into the far wall in a Yamcha-like crater from the Cuteness Overload.
  • In Chapter 36, hitting the Tyranno Cannon Full Burst causes Iku's clothes (except for her underwear) to fly off in the wind, "just like in Shaolin Soccer!"
  • In Chapter 37, the end tag is "12,858,051,967,633,865 things a boyfriend likes about his girlfriends."
  • In Chapter 39, Rentarou mentions Anpanman when Mimimi claims that soiling her clothes would sap every ounce of strength from her body. A few panels later, he mentions Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Princess Mononoke.
    • When Nano accepts Mimimi's challenge, the former is dressed like Klara from Heidi, Girl of the Alps while Rentarou and Shizuka are dressed like Heidi and Peter, respectively. The latter two are also drawn in the same art style as Heidi, Girl of the Alps.
  • In Chapter 41, Rentarou's kiss causes Mimimi to suddenly appear naked on a sparkly background, and two of the other girls ask if this has become a cooking manga.

  • In Chapter 52, Meme's desperate attempt to hide her eyes is compared to Colonel Muska's final moments.
  • In Chapter 55, Mimimi asks Toruru if the so called "trending topic" she mentioned was Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
  • In Chapter 56, Rentarou dreams about letting Iku use him as a Bey Blade, and an alien similar to a Xenomorph appears in the dream he has while using Kusuri's lap as a pillow. He also dreams that he is Evangelion Unit-01, and Meme is Rei.
  • In Chapter 57, Naddy calls herself Captain America.
  • In Chapter 58, Mei is compared to a Sanrio puppy in her "freedom outfit", while Rentarou's "freedom outfit" is just Luffy's clothes. Also, Disneyland makes a cameo in the Imagine Spot Nano has upon seeing Shizuka's "freedom outfit", while Iku's is said to come from Kyojin no Hoshi.
  • In Chapter 59, Nano's explanation of what's going on in the arcade is lampshaded as being basically Kaiji, which is followed a bit later on by a panel with a Kaiji-alike and friends.
  • In one of the extras, Hahari mispronounces Toruru's name as Totoro, while the God of Love compares the childish drawing of himself to a kodama.

    Volume 8 
  • In Chapter 61, the Twitter logo briefly appears. Also, Chiyo and Kusuri read what is clearly a Where's Wally? book.
  • The splash page for Chapter 62 resembles the poster for The Idolmaster.
  • After seeing how much animals love Yamame in Chapter 64, Rentarou wonders whether they're in Nausicaä, or if she's a Laputian robot.
    • At the end, when Yamame gets the idea that Rentarou's a representative of all living things, and therefore she's been caring for him all along, Rentarou rejects it, saying "This isn't like the story of 'The Crane's Return of a Favor'.".
  • In Chapter 65, Hahari announces "I activate my Trap Card!" before giving the girls their new white dresses. Rentarou literally explodes, claiming to have lost all 4000 of his Life Points upon seeing them in their new outfits.
    • In addition, Kusuri calls herself, Chiyo and Shizuka the "Attack Titan" upon being given a piggy back ride by Yamame, and the group kiss at the end of the chapter is compared to something from the same manga. Three expies of Eren, Mikasa, and Armin also stumble upon the sight, drawn in Isayama's artstyle.
      • The chapter's ending tagline uses Reiner's "Why is he being eaten?" line after feeding Marco to a titan.
    • Kurumi parodies Nico Robin's "I want to live!" cry twice.
  • In Chapter 66, Kusuri's discovery of a sunflower seed in the nabe gets someone asking if Hamtaro brought it, and Kusuri jumping off on that to say sunflower seeds are great because it's like she's really Hamtaro. There's also a fair few things that get referenced as being in Golden Kamuy.
  • In Chapter 67, Hakari calls Rentarou a "fullmoral alchemist", while the phrase "super smash gfs" is used again.
    • Hakari also parodies Lupin III's iconic "Sorry for the wait!" strip when she thinks she's about to score with Rentarou.
  • In Chapter 68, Rentarou calls Yamame the "Mother Theresa of the plant kingdom".
  • In one of the extras, Yamame says that a talking bug (really her father) the size of Nausicaä's Worldbuilding gave her lessons in stilt walking.

    Volume 9 
  • In Chapter 69, Momiji explains her ability to tell if someone's fatigued even through their clothes as being a skill that develops naturally with massage experience, just like Goku's ability to judge how strong someone is by looking at them, to which Rentarou's reaction is "You have an internal scouter?!". Momiji also keeps comparing Rentarou's body to Astro Boy's, due to how stiff it is, and wonders if he's being forced into slave labor in an underground facility. Rentarou shoots it down, saying "This isn't Kaiji.".
    • Momiji compares her full name to that of Nobi Nobita. The crew also asks if her father's name is Momisuke, mirroring Nobita's father Nobisuke.
    • Momiji has a pillow of Nami to stuff her face in.
  • In Chapter 70, Momiji is referred to as "the Momi-nator".
  • Chapter 71 sees the crew debating what Totoro's supposed to be.
    • The whole delinquent part is a reference to this Japanese comedy duo bit.
    • Chiyo suggests her delinquent classmates buy manga rather than cigarettes. They retort that there're so many volumes of One Piece out they wouldn't even get through the "East Blue" arc on their allowance.
  • In Chapter 72, the shrunken Nano is called a "nano-putian", while Doraemon is mentioned again.
    • Naddy compares a shrunken Nano to Ant-Man.
  • In Chapter 73, the reporter interviewing the girls compares a word-covered Rentarou to Hoichi the Earless, while Momiji mentions that Rentarou has bulked his forearms up to pre-timeskip Franky proportions. Astro Boy is also mentioned.
    • In the same chapter, the reporter thinks of Rentarou as a "monster matsutake hunter", and Mei tells of the time he got her to open her eyes on a date by telling her he had been wearing a Frieza costume the entire time.
    • When Hahari talks about how Rentarou carried her for the entire date after her heel broke, the reporter privately compares him to the Dragon Quest hero.
    • Shizuka, Naddy and Chiyo go off on a tangent about berserkers:
      Shizuka: "[Rentarou] is the" "so-called berserker."
      Naddy: Huh. I'd never heard'a vehicle like that before.
      Chiyo: Don't tell me you're thinking of a berser-car.
    • Rentarou mentions Doraemon's inventions while describing what his "girlfriend" is like.
  • In Chapter 74, Kusuri and her parents are called a "Kusurylvanian family" The phrase is repeated in Chapter 75, when Kusuri's grandmother appears.
    • Renatarou compares Kusuri's father to The Incredible Hulk upon seeing just how muscular he is.
  • In the splash page for Chapter 76, Naddy dresses up like Jason Voorhees, while Meme dresses like Little Red Riding Hood.
    • Meme's Ninja Log of the chapter (for when Momiji starts groping her) is a doll of Dengakuman.
    • Naddy calls herself "Yankee Doodle Dandy", a reference to the song of the same name.
    • Kusuri describes the Imagine Spot of a giant Shizuka as something out of "Nobita's Little Star Wars".
  • In the bonus chapter, the pharmaceutical spy quotes Team Rocket after Kusuri’s dad launches him through the roof.

  • In Chapter 89, Rentarou vows to protect his girlfriends even if Laputa itself plummets down onto them.
  • When introduced in Chapter 94, Uto's musical instrument of choice is shown to be an ocarina, playing into her chuuni mentality.

  • In chapter 97, Ahko is challenged to dress up as No Face's final form.
  • Chapter 103 is A Day in the Limelight for Hakari, with the chapter number and plot referencing the Foreigner song "Hot Blooded".

  • In chapter 110, Iku said shyly, "I'm just a girl." This pose is similar to Feminine Subaru meme from Hololive.

  • In Chapter 121, Rin’s doll sprouts mini chainsaws from their arms and head, just like Chainsaw Man.
