The playable protagonist of Cyberpunk 2077. As an up and coming mercenary out to make a name for themselves, V's appearance, past and skills are up to the player.- Action Genre Hero Guy: Male V's appearance in the 2020 Night City Wire previews is that of a fairly attractive white man with a buzz cut hairstyle.
- Combat Stilettos: In the promotional artworks, female V wears platform motorcycle boots with a noticeable heel.
- Cyborg: The Aug 2020 Night City Wire shows off cybernetic augments including a Blade Below the Shoulder concealed in the forearm, a rocket launcher Arm Cannon, a brain interface that allows V to direct smart guns' micro missles to home in on targets, and another that shows the pathing of the power guns' Pinball Projectile shots.
- Iconic Outfit: V is featured in a tricked out, futuristic "Samurai" bomber jacket on the game cover, the Cyberpunk 2077 website, the E3 2018 and 2019 trailers, and other marketing material.
- One-Letter Name: In the 2019 E3 Trailer, multiple members of the cast simply refer to them by a single letter, "V".
Megacorporations
In General
- N.G.O. Superpower: It's established in the lorebook that Arasaka and Militech have enough military might to cause devastating collateral damage during the Fourth Corporate War, with Arasaka noted to own an aircraft carrier.
- Villain with Good Publicity: It's referenced in the Cyberpunk 2077 Handbook that the megacorps of Night City control many of the media sources in the New United States, allowing them to hide evidence of their crimes from the public eye.
Trauma Team
In General
Trauma Team International
A corporation specializing in rapid-response private medical service. They take their obligations to their clients very seriously and make sure to protect them by any means necessary. A Trauma Team unit is comprised of two pilots, two medics and two security officers.
- Death by Ambulance: In the E3 trailer, one of their flying ambulances can be seen shooting down what appears to be a gang hideout with a side mounted machine gun. The gameplay reveal video also shows them threatening V with guns while treating the woman they just saved.
