  • A Molten Date with Death: Metalbeast is treated with getting splashed by lava, leaving him alive, but mortally burned. The Akantor has to finish him off by treating him like a ragdoll.
    • In fact, several others meet a quicker fate in the lava, like Dynamite, thanks to the Akantor flinging everybody around with his bulk. Ed falls into lava by accident, too.
  • Above the Influence: Zodd resists the aphrodisiac, due to having no sexual organs, but that doesn't stop him from feeling an attraction to Zhima when she's affected (less so with Liru, though).
  • Accidental Hero: Zodd, a few times, like with the Akantor. Elvira is also 'saved' from Bogo by the timely arrival of a Kaprosuchus.
  • Adaptational Wimp: A lot of characters this time around get this, ESPECIALLY Asura and Kratos. At least under Alternate Self down below, there are some reasons for this.
  • Aim for the Horn: Veronica does this to Blitzo at the start, shooting off one of his horns. He reacts with anger, mostly because he "just had that waxed".
  • Alternate Self: Aside from a furry version of Elvira, the Korra here is a gynomorph version. One much more flirty and less powerful. The version of Alduin here is also a female anthro version, again less powerful.
  • Always a Bigger Fish: The Akantor proves this to Vanessa when she tries to fire upon the crowd in his territory, crushing her with his jaws when he first appears. However, Zodd later shows why he's called the 'Eater of Elders'. Elvira even lists this trope verbatim at the end of that!
    • Starscream is subjected to this by the Teostra AND Lunastra.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Warwolf has his arms ripped off by Slithis before having his throat torn out.
  • Attack Its Weakpoint: As usual, the belly is the Akantor's weak point. The moment that Ed flips him over, he's set upon by several combatants, though he survives.
  • Awakening the Sleeping Giant: Zodd's an old Ruiner Nergigante that's hunted for years, but he REALLY shows off his true power after he sees the deaths of Zhima and Squeak at the claws of the Lunastra/Teostra duo.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: The Apex Armor for Starscream. It protects him, yes, and grants him more strength, but when he's flung like a ragdoll by Zodd at the end, he wind up banging his head within. That, and the Lunastra turns it into an oven, her flames nearly cooking him alive. Oh, and he can no longer fly...something that would come in handy in avoiding a Disney Villain Death...
  • Bears Are Bad News: Squeak takes the appearance of a large bear to scare Loona away from hurting Zhima, though it's his cute face that really sends her off due to being too saccharine.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": Starscream's first line to Ed (and in general), having had enough of his babbling.
  • Boss Subtitles: "Tyrant of Fire, Akantor", "Tyrant of Ice, Ukanlos", "Emperor of Flame, Teostra", "Empress of Flame, Lunastra".
  • Brawler Lock: Zodd and Starscream get into one in their fight at the end of the episode, with Starscream ending it by headbutting Zodd and firing Null rays at him.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Due to a misuse of an Arm Cannon, Asura finds himself giving all of his power to the weapon...rendering him helpless as Giant 50s Leeches come for him.
  • Call-Back: The destroyed K-Mart from last episode shows up here.
  • Can't Hold His Liquor: The Bloodsucker, as it turns out. Zhima, as well later on, when she finds some sake, along with Warwolf and Loona.
    • Never Gets Drunk: This is in stark contrast to Luna, who downs 100 drinks and feels nothing.
  • Cock-a-Doodle Dawn: Loona receives this from a roaring Velocidrome, to which she throws it against a tree, demanding five more minutes and causing it to flee with its pack.
  • Cow Tipping: Loona does this to a single Aptonoth, sending the entire herd into hysterics. All to kill boredom.
  • Disney Villain Death: Starscream and Gul fall down a volcanic shaft erupted by the Lunastra and Teostra's combination attack, his Apex Armor dragging him down to the lava below. Complete with a Big "NO!".
  • Double Standard Rape: Female on Male: Averted. Zodd draws the line when Liru attempts to sexually assault him, only to find he literally has no dick. He flies away in an angered huff, while Zhima (who was also there due to aphrodisiac) expresses guilt for the whole thing and rushes to make amends the next day.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: The Bloodbath ends with a surprising few getting killed. Mike Jones is thrown into Scolai's axe (splitting his head), while Scolai herself is impaled by Bogo's horns and punched in half.
    • It's when the Akantor and Ukanlos attack early on does this trope come into play, shortening the cast SIGNIFICANTLY.
    • Elvira literally just "...dies, just like that" much later on.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Episode 13 would introduce a wholly new version of Godzilla, one that was shown to be the new canon version, but the Godzilla here is all but stated to be the definitive version. In hindsight, this version is very much the 2002-2003 version.
  • Eaten Alive: Taffy by the SkiFree Yeti. It's as anti-climatic as it sounds, given the monster's infamous reputation. Near the end, Liru also suffers this fate.
    • The Akantor introduces itself by emerging from the lava and clamping its jaws shut around Vanessa, ending her.
    • Escanor, while at night, is devoured by a Lindworm.
    • ALMOST Zodd by a giant corrupted Venus flytrap. He tears his way free.
    • Loona by the Deadly Spawn...very GRAPHICALLY.
  • Eating the Enemy: Zodd does this to the Akantor and Deadly Spawn.
  • Establishing Character Moment: For Zodd, his introduction to the series proper has him in Tranquil Fury within his cage, unlike most Nergigantes, whom would probably instantly rampage.
  • Exposed to the Elements: Many characters in the Ukanlos' domain. Liru and Spinel come to mind, the latter feeling like rubber.
  • Eye Scream: Blitzo managed to inflict this on Optimal Optimus, shooting out an optic and earning his ire.
    • Zhima throws her flute through Gul's one optic at the end, sending him crashing down.
  • Fatal Fireworks: Reptile is catapulted into the sky by a firework he accidentally grabs, giving him time to contemplate before being sent above. He still lives, though.
  • Female Gaze: Loona to Metalbeast, due to how ripped he is, but his savage nature keeps anything from coming of it.
  • Foreshadowing: Baskerra says she's been hearing a 'buzzing noise' recently. Come the next episode...
    • Within the episode itself, Futa-Korra is crippled in the crotch by a Kirin, a Shock and Awe based creature. Later, she dies by high voltage thanks to Faye Bunny.
  • Full-Boar Action: Bogo has to lock horns with an irritable Bulldrome at one point.
  • Genre Savvy: When the Akantor is shot into the lava during its battle with everybody, Ed rightfully points out that it'll take the time to do a surprise attack within, based on a movie he saw. Doesn't save him, though.
  • Groin Attack: Futa-Korra has her large junk kicked with both barrels by a Kirin. Her scream can be heard for miles.
  • Heroic Mime: It's outright stated that Simea is emulating Link this way.
  • Howl of Sorrow: Zodd lets out one at the end after reflecting on the deaths of Zhima and Squeak. Baskerra's appearance breaks him out of it.
  • Hydro-Electro Combo: Fayebunny uses Futa-Korra's bending against her by electrifying the water she's bending, frying the Avatar to a crisp.
  • I Want My Mommy!: Zhima's reaction to seeing the Deadly Spawn.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Miria is stabbed through the chest by a Kirin's horn, before being tossed into the air and zapped by lightning. Surprisingly, she's not dead after that.
    • Warwolf is heavily wounded by the horns of a an angry mother Triceratops.
    • Reptile is stabbed by a falling tree branch, with Elvira deciding to speed up the process by sleeping on his laying form, driving it further in.
    • Loona jams a wooden spike through a Spitbug's head when it tries to convert her.
  • It Can Think: Zodd is fully shown to be more than just an animal when he gathers logs to create a warm fire. From that point on, he shows himself to basically be sapient, but just incapable of speech.
  • Kill It with Ice: The Ukanlos' main draw, either killing combatants with its ice breath or sending them into the frigid waters with its bulk.
  • Kissing Under the Influence: Zodd and Zhima wind up doing this, with both finding they really enjoy it.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Alduin attempts to leave everybody to the Akantor, gleefully watching the carnage. However, thanks to Zodd tackling the monster when he's mid-firing a Sonic Blast, she gets her wings destroyed.
  • Lethal Lava Land: The Akantor's battle area is just a dangerous as the beast itself. The Teostra is also fought alongside the Lunastra in a similar location.
    • Winter Warfare: In contrast, the Ukanlos fight takes place over a large frozen lake getting hit with a blizzard.
  • Sonic Scream: The Akantor's Sonic Attack completely OBLITERATES Megaguirus, Seven of Nine, and the Bloodsucker. It also destroys a platform Ed was going to land on, ensuring his end.
  • Morality Pet: Downplayed with Zhima and Squeak to Zodd. The Ruiner Nergigante wasn't all that bad to start with, being old and non-hostile for the most part, but they definitely bring out the better side of him.
  • Music Soothes the Savage Beast: Zhima manages to calm Zodd down (and accidentally increase his attraction to her) when she uses her flute to make this familiar theme.
  • Mythology Gag: Starscream manages to find a double whammy related to Transformers Prime. First, he finds the Apex Armor. Then, he finds a Minicon named Gul, his Arms Micron partner from the Japanese Toyline.
  • There Is No Kill Like Overkill: Minerva's fate. She attempted to escape, but found herself in the crosshair of Kroq'Gar's hand energy, Reptile's acid spit, and Warwolf's blades, the very latter eating her remains. It wasn't even intentional on their parts, having done all that just to get prey animals.
    • Futa-Korra burns out Nightshade's eyes before crushing her head with a rock. Even she herself admits that was brutal.
  • No-Sell: Elvira attempts to kill Bogo with a branch to the back...only for it to shatter into splinters. It takes a passing Kaprosuchus to finish him off.
  • Not Distracted by the Sexy: Alduin attempts to seduce Zodd, but he's most defiantly not interested. She tries to snog him, only to get her head smashed into the ground (non-fatally) by his tail.
  • Off with His Head!: Loona, messily by way of the Deadly Spawn.
  • Papa Wolf / Mama Bear: The Teostra and Lunastra, as it turns out, were just protecting their cubs at the end. Violently, that is.
  • Sacred First Kiss: Zhima realizes she had this with Zodd. Not that she minds, later on.
  • Shout-Out: As Ed sinks into the lava, he gives a thumbs up.
  • Squashed Flat: Marceline and Ramsay by way of the Ukanlos, though falling through the ice might have also happened.
  • Take That!: Once again, Among Us memes are treated as a threat, prompting Taffy and a few others to leave (and why the rabbit never lets Pepper near Reddit, apparently).
    • The Creeping Terror attempts to devour Nightshade, but she doesn't push herself in like its previous victims, allowing her to escape and decry this as a fetish game. Alduin later finishes off the thing.
    • Revenge of the Fallen is shown to Loona and Starscream...and it promptly puts them to sleep (though only because the boring bits are shown to them apparently).
    • Congalas are dissed in this, with the narration outright stating that nobody likes them. Even Zodd refuses to eat a body of one.
  • Tempting Fate: Zhima attempts to subvert this after escaping the Deadly Spawn, outright stating she believes she's not out of the danger and hoping this will have the inverse effect. The beast promptly shows up again.
Zhima: That’s not fair! The one time I WANT the danger to continue and it WORKS?!
  • Theme Music Power-Up: When Zodd finally unleashes his rage against the Teostra and Lunastra, a heavy metal remix of the Arch-Tempered Nergigante theme plays.
  • Thinks Like a Romance Novel: Zhima, under the effect of aphrodisiac, compares her experiences with Zodd like a novel she read, going along with everything until a certain point.
  • When All You Have Is a Hammer…: Zhima throws her flute at the Akantor's eye as a last resort. It doesn't take.
  • Wormsign: Both the Akantor and Ukanlos do the in their elements, but the latter is almost like a Threatening Shark, due to the back-fin traveling through the frozen ice.
  • Wolves Always Howl at the Moon: Well, hellhounds, really. Loona does this after the Akantor incident.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: Zodd relents from killing the Teostra/Lunastra couple when their cubs arrive, indicating they just waned to protect them.
  • Verbal Tic Name: Squeak the Slime is named for repeating one of Zhima's squeaks vocally back.
  • Ye Olde Butchered English: Luna speaks in this, true to form, but only briefly. She's been working on it.
  • You Are Already Dead: Zodd dive-bombs the Akantor, seemingly missing...until wounds start appearing all over the beast's body, his tusks breaking apart and left as easy pickings in general.

Winner: Zodd the Ruiner Nergigante (Faye Bunny's pick)
