     Season 1

It Begins

  • Jackie, Jade and Tohru are utterly perplexed to learn that Uncle has even had a girlfriend in Yan Lin. You Didn't Ask is the only answer the old wizard has to offer.
  • When Uncle makes his first impressions to the Guardians by smacking Cornelia in order to put a stop to her complaining, Irma starts liking him already.
  • When Cornelia doesn't believe Uncle to be a wizard, he conjures a green Chinese dragon that whacks her before vanishing.

It Resumes

  • When Tohru swings over the moat, he cries out like George of the Jungle.

Need a Dark Hand?

  • During his first fight against the Guardians, Hak Foo boasts that the Black Tiger cannot fall. His crotch is suddenly hit with a steel pipe from behind, causing him to fall to the ground in agony. Jade is revealed to have struck him.
Jade: Guess the Black Tiger's not gonna have any cubs now, huh?

J-WITCH Meets The J-Team!

  • Upon first meeting Phobos, Ratso takes a guess that he's Dracula's son because his castle looks like something Dracula would live in.

Happy Birthday Will

  • At the end of the chapter, Irma announces to the party guests that they have brought a real-life sumo wrestler as entertainment. Tohru is dragged to the party when everyone wants to have an arm wrestling match with him. Hay Lin also drags Jackie and Uncle to the party, much to the latter's chagrin.

A Shady Service

  • When Jade says that she prefers fighting the bad guys to scrubbing toilets, Uncle takes it to literally meaning that modern teachers make students clean toilets.
  • Uncle admonishes Will for believing Professor Collins to be Cedric because he thinks Collins is too boring to be evil. Cornelia immediately points out that she initially thought the same.

The Labyrinth

  • When Tohru worries how Caleb will manage with Uncle at the latter's shop while he himself is helping out at the Silver Dragon, Yan Lin winces yet assures him that those two will get along just fine. We then go to Uncle's Rare Finds where Uncle and Caleb are having an argument because Caleb just tried to create a light-themed weapon to fight the Shadowkhan, only to produce a smoking cauldron for the trouble.

Divide and Conquer - Chaos and Hilarity

  • When Yan Lin makes Valmont realize that his blackmail attempt has only made the heroes ready to beat him up, he tries to hide his nervousness by bidding them farewell and walking out of the Silver Dragon. As soon as he's outside, however, he runs away fast, causing nearly everyone to laugh.
  • This line Taranee says while Jade skies down Mount Heatherfield:
Taranee: I really admire Jade. She doesn't care about boys, or what people think of her… [Jade falls in a snow pile] Or if she ever walks again.
  • Will and Jade view the "lava" being cherry gelatin as Actually Pretty Funny, mainly because Cedric and Wong's plan to use it against the Guardians and allies backfired.

A Dramatic Ambush

Big Trouble, Bigger Jade

  • When Will's mom learns that her daughter has started training in Kung Fu, she embarrasses Will by playfully calling her "her pink-perky-kung-fu-pumpkin".
  • When Cornelia suggests that they'd leave Uncle immobilized, he's still able to smack her for some reason.

Framed

  • The girls have taken to using "I'll tell Uncle" as a threat, which they all take seriously.
  • Jade has Hay Lin paint for Cornelia a jester outfit to annoy the latter.
  • Everyone being dumbfounded that Jade used a bazooka against their enemies in the magic painting. And that she didn't think to paint any extra ammunition.

The Star of Threbe

  • When Blunk foils the Guardians and Jade's first attempt to give him a bath with his "trash-bag suit", Cornelia says that he's more slippery than Jade. The latter comments "And that's saying something." When they throw him in a river, only for him to board a garbage barge, Jade comments that he's more slippery than her. Cornelia replies "And that's saying something."

Revelations

  • When Caleb is knocked unconscious in the chapter's beginning, he dreams of conversing with Uncle's head who ends up waking him up with a Dope Slap (which happens just like in several JCA Season 1 episodes).
Uncle: One more thing. Since you are on Earth now, you must protect Elyon herself.
    Caleb: But, aren't I dead?
Uncle: Aiya! How can you be dead?! You swung into the portal!
    Caleb: Oh… right…
Uncle: One more thing. [hits Caleb to awake him]
  • Vathek is confused when Uncle makes him stay behind to mind the shop. And then, like Captain Black before him, he messes around with Uncle's magic and accidentally turns himself into a (blue) frog. When the heroes arrive just in time to witness this, the Chans and Black himself facepalm, Blunk mistakes Vathek for a Passling, Yan Lin sighs… while the Guardians and Caleb remain dumbfounded.

Stop the Presses

  • Jade says that she'd rather be Eaten Alive by demons than join the school newspaper. Elyon assumes that she's joking.
  • Uncle annoying Phobos and Wong during his captivity. He even manages to surprise the prince with a smack.
  • When she sees Uncle as a spirit, Cornelia jokes about keeping him like that, prompting Uncle to ask someone to Dope Slap her for him, which Jade obliges.

Parent's Night

The Mudslugs

  • Uncle smacks Cornelia for accidentally exposing the Guardians' secret to Alchemy. Cornelia then smacks him back, because she didn't have a choice in the matter. This leads to the two smacking each other back and forth repeatedly, to everyone else's amusement.
  • Jade and Alchemy using the Snake and Rooster Talismans to prank Uriah by making him think that a frog he dissected is haunting him.

Tohru Who?

  • When Yan Lin mentions that she and Uncle had some moments together in an alleyway after watching plays in their youth, some of the girls cringe.
  • The Guardians and Caleb's Big "WHAT?!" reaction when Irma wants Jade to get them out of the cellar with the Talismans, only for Jade to admit that she didn't bring any Talismans with her this time.
  • Cornelia references Raiders of the Lost Ark as an example of the Dark Hand being Genre Blind about the Golden Elephant's defenses, causing MC Cobra to start praising Harrison Ford, with Hay Lin joining in.
  • When Jade tricks the amnesiac Valmont into doing ballet, Irma, prompted by Will, starts recording it on her phone.
  • Uncle gets his memory wiped by Valmont's potion and becomes convinced that he's a goat. He ends up chewing on Cornelia's hair because he thinks it's hay — right after Cornelia, thinking he's less annoying this way, suggests that they wouldn't return his memory yet.

Enter the Oni

  • Alchemy has started popping up with Jade whenever they're left behind. The first time this happens, Will asks how they did it, with Jade commenting that she shouldn't still be questioning it at this point.
  • Jackie sneaks aboard the plane that Tarakudo is using to transport Cedric, Wong, Frost and the Enforcers to China with, and is immediately confronted by Frost… who is too airsick to do anything about it.
  • After it turns out that there are eight masks and Shadowkhan tribes still out there, Jade tries to cheer up the rest of the group by pointing out the bright side; the WITCH gang finally gets to go on an infamous Chan Clan world tour. Needless to say, they aren't very excited about it.

Samurai and Guardians

  • When Tarakudo makes a joke about Caleb taking someone's head off when Caleb swings a katana at him, Hay Lin thinks that it's actually pretty funny, prompting a comment from Tarakudo about how he's finally found someone who appreciates humor before blasting her.
  • After being sent falling down by Oni-Ratso, Cornelia tries to catch Tohru, but they both end up landing in a pile of fish, much to the disgust of them both.
  • When Uncle enters his 10-Minute Retirement moment during the hunt for the second mask as per canon, everyone is shocked and saddened… except for Cornelia, who happily waves him off and wishes him safe travels.
  • While Jade uses her canon "didn't say which uncle" excuse to skip the train Uncle departs in, Alchemy's excuse is the fact that she doesn't have any uncles to go with.

Walk This Way

  • Jade pulls her Stealth Hi/Bye routine on Will again to note that it looks like she's set for the dance thanks to Matt. Will has a bit of a Delayed Reaction, then gets flustered before remembering how much her friend loves to do that.

Return of the Queen

  • What does Jade first summon the Shadowkhan for when she starts turning into the Queen again? Giving Uriah and his cronies a wedgie.
  • The Queen getting on Phobos' nerves by using his throne.

Ghosts and Shadows

  • After Jade first transforms, her Guardian outfit looking like the standard Guardian outfit mixed with the Queen's dress, they decide to go to Uncle, Tohru, and Yan Lin about it. When Uncle sees her, he asks why she looks like that, and Cornelia, acting like the answer is obvious, points out that they don't know, and that's why they came.
  • When Elyon creates multiple illusions of herself, the Enforcers try to count them all, succeeding only in losing count and keeping track of the original Elyon. Phobos has to resist the urge to blast the trio.
  • Uncle chastises the girls for letting Caleb go to Meridian without them, asking if they haven't noticed that his recklessness makes it easy to capture him.
  • The others teasingly calling Caleb a pervert for wanting to look in Elyon's room for her sketchbook.
  • The Enforcers feel awkward about searching for Elyon's sketchbook in her Earth room, believing that makes them look like pedophiles. When they bring the book back to Phobos, they tell him to apologize to them and next time look through his sister's stuff himself, only for him to threaten them into backing off.
  • After Jade discovers that her new powers can harm Tarakudo, she takes full advantage of it. Desperate, he tries a We Can Rule Together offer, and she pretends to accept solely to mess with him before sending him and the rest of the villains rolling down the mountain in a sphere of shadow magic.

  • When she learns that Yan Lin plays poker and blackjack, Irma suggests bringing her along if they end up going to Vegas, and score a million bucks.
  • Everyone does a Jaw Drop when the Bat Khan mask ends up on Blunk of all creatures.
  • When Wong gets close to a captive Will to try and drain the Heart's power, she kicks him in the crotch. Tarakudo winces.

Gladiatorial Clash

  • Caleb tried to bring some onion along when he snuck into the castle, but was foiled because Blunk ate them.
  • Cornelia's note to her Astral Drop on Uncle tells it to avoid him, since he'd probably figure out the ruse and smack her. She also includes that his breath stinks.
  • After failing to dissolve Hak Foo with multiple punches, Will waves her hands in pain in a similar manner to Jackie.

Black Magic

  • Jade making a joke about Jackie not climbing the totem pole because he's too fat.
  • After Miranda shoots webbing at her, Jade insults her by asking what it says about her face that she shoots webbing from it, since spiders normally shoot it from their butts.
    • Later, Cornelia threatens to kick Miranda "where your mouth is".
  • Uncle is prepared to go all the way to Japan to get more seaweed for the removal spell… only for Yan Lin to reveal that she has some at the restaurant.
  • When Oni-Black threatens to have the necks of Cedric, Wong and Miranda snapped if they don't help him defeat the heroes and get the Oni Masks back, Wong gulps and promises their assistance in a scared tone.
  • The chapter ends with Alchemy and Yan Lin being stuck in Section 13's phone booth along with Uncle and Tohru. Alchemy dreadfully asks if Tohru has eaten beans that day.

The Underwater Mines

  • Kepler isn't pleased when his particle beam fails to affect the Book of Secrets.
  • While brainstorming ideas for opening the Book of Secrets, the Talismans are suggested, but Tohru points out that they need to be careful to not risk destroying said book. Blunk then objects to the Book being destroyed… because it's too pretty. Irma's reaction to this is suitably snarky.
  • Hay Lin wonders if there's an online version of the Book that they can hack.
  • When Jade learns that Cornelia can't swim, she's surprised because she pegged Cornelia as the "swimsuit model type", then says that it's not like those girls know how to swim either.

  • When Irma questions where Uncle found a Japanese encyclopedia of evil, Yan Lin admits she bought it on Amazon.
  • When Tohru and Uncle have their fight and refuse to talk to each other, Cornelia suggests that they'd follow Tohru's example. This gets her elbowed by Jade.
  • Ikazuki's mask ends up on Uriah's butt here. Finn even makes a few comments on how glad he is that it didn't happen to HIM.
  • Jade and Irma find Ikazuki's mask ending up on Uriah's ass hilarious, and the Enforcers find their jokes about it funny.
    • The other heroes' various reactions to seeing Ikazuki on Uriah's butt before Jade and Irma start laughing. Jackie, Uncle, Taranee and Hay Lin are just shocked, Caleb stutters in disbelief, Cornelia tries to cover her eyes while crying out that she's blind, Will comments with a wince how wrong this is, and Alchemy says with a blank expression on her face that she has no comment to give.
  • When Uncle says that he says "one more thing" too often, Cornelia grumbles that he's "just realizing that now?"
    • Also, when Uncle is dope-slapping himself over letting Tohru get captured, Cornelia happily contributes to it.
  • When Ikazuki attempts to attack Will from behind, Irma warns her to "watch her behind" before correcting herself by shouting "behind you" instead.
  • Uriah spends most of the chapter deluding himself into thinking that the whole scenario is a dream. The heroes decide to let him think that because they don't want him joining the group like Alchemy did.
  • Thanks to Uncle putting Uriah into a sleeper hold, he has a Potty Failure, to everyone's disgust. The girls in particular are so grossed out that they immediately fly or run far away from Uriah and refuse to carry him home.
    • Uncle volunteers to carry Uriah to make up for his mistakes, but Yan Lin argues that's more than he actually needs to make up.

Fright Night Fight

  • Jade swiped the Monkey Talisman to turn Scruffy into a literal Cerberus for Halloween, and the Ox so Paco could spar with her while she's in her Guardian form.
    • Later, when the rest of the group arrives and sees Cerberus-Scruffy, their reactions are gold once they learn what happened.
  • Alchemy is expressing interest in learning magic. While helping with making the mask-removal potion, complete with a literal Eye of Newt moment, she's reconsidering.
  • Will wondering if Hay Lin seriously called the Shadowkhan Chris summoned "Squidkhan".
  • Chris turns out to be a big luchador fan, and Irma got hooked herself watching matches to distract him when she babysat him.
  • Irma bombarding Chris with kisses despite his protests is both this and Heartwarming.

  • The Enforcers and the girls get a laugh about how silly half-masked Valmont and the half-Shadowkhan look.
  • To try and get a Japanese monkey to cry so that they can use its tears to make more mask removal potion, Blunk reads it Romeo and Juliet. He's confused why this doesn't work, since he apparently cried the first time he read it.
  • Blunk, like Uncle, gets obsessed with the online auction site, and mistakes Alchemy's computer crashing for evil spirits and takes to smashing the computer with a baseball bat to get the site back.

  • Irma telling Tohru to make sure that Blunk doesn't eat all the baked goods... or the book. Uncle then drags her along by pulling her by her ear.
  • Wong and Cedric get so caught up in their plans to betray each other after usurping Phobos that they shake each other's hands for quite some time, causing them to laugh awkwardly once they come to their senses.
  • When Phobos reassures his sister that even if their parent's murderers are still active, trying to break up the peace signing would be a stupid move, since no one else even believes that they exist. Ratso then says it sounds like something that the Enforcers would do, causing the others to elbow him to shut him up.

  • Irma drinks some coffee to stay awake while hunting the Mini-Khan. She finds it vile, openly wondering who can drink that kind of thing on a regular basis.
