    Cassandra Bowden

Cassandra Bowden

Portrayed By: Kaley Cuoco

The titular Flight Attendant, and the protagonist of the series.

  • The Alcoholic: Holy fuck is she ever. Cassie seems physically incapable of getting through the day without downing a vial of hard liquor whenever possible, doing so as early as when she wakes up in the morning. The rate Cassie drinks at is so bad that Miranda Croft openly wonders how she isn’t dead. Over time, it’s revealed that her father was somewhat responsible for this, as they apparently loved to drink beer together even when she was a child.
  • Amateur Sleuth: Cassie ends up becoming this as she tries to figure out what the hell happened to her in Bangkok. Unfortunately, her constant digging into places to discover what happened ends up getting both her and her friends into quite a bit of trouble, and attracts the attention of the FBI, the CIA and Miranda Croft.
  • Anti-Hero: Despite being the protagonist whose trying to bring Alex's killer to justice, Cassie has many flaws that prevents her from being a traditional hero (selfishness, alcoholism, deteriorating psyche etc.)
  • Character Development: By the end of Season 1, Cassie learns to let go from her past and become sober so that she can improve her life.
  • Daddy's Girl: A particularly dark example. At ten years old, Cassie and her father were the best of friends growing up together...because they both bonded over drinking beer. Even in the present day, Cassie is still convinced that her relationship with her father was a good one, and it isn't until the Alex hallucination points out the truth that she realizes how awful she and her father were to David.
  • Corrupted Character Copy: Cassie is one to Penny from The Big Bang Theory. Both are portrayed by Kaley Cuoco, who plays a Hard-Drinking Party Girl with unrealistic aspirations. However, Penny’s drinking habits are Played for Laughs and not given much focus, while having a group of nerdy friends that help keep her grounded. On the other hand, Cassie’s drinking is Played for Drama and the main focus of her character while lacking the support network Penny had, resulting in Cassie’s worst qualities spiraling out of control.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Many of Cassie's ideas to uncover information about Alexander Sokolov aren't exactly thought out, and often get her into trouble.
    • At one point, Cassie decides to go to Alex's funeral wake to find out who Miranda is from the matriarch of the family. Not only does she completely stand out amongst Alex's close family and friends, but she remains there after Ani warns her several times to leave the place, and even after she draws attention to herself with her phone going off repeatedly.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Deconstructed. Because of Cassie’s carefree adult lifestyle, her brother is somewhat estranged from her, her coworkers don’t take her seriously at all, and she’s prone to blackouts and screwing things up due to constantly having alcohol in her system. By the Season 1 finale, Cassie recognizes how much alcohol has destroyed her life, and puts it behind her.
  • Hated by All: Over the course of the first season, it becomes apparent that pretty much nobody likes being around Cassie for any longer than they have to. Her brother is estranged from her, her Imperial Atlantic coworkers don't respect her in the slightest, and even Ani, the one person who sticks up for Cassie no matter what, gets so sick of her antics that she coldly rejects her friendship (albeit briefly) after she screws up her own life trying to fix Cassie's. As time goes on however, Cassie gradually starts to avert the trope by becoming a better person.
  • Hates Being Alone: Cassie attempts to relax in her hotel room or apartment by herself quite a few times in the series, only to end up going out to see someone anyways. Alex's hallucination lampshades this.
  • Heel Realization: She gradually starts to realize her flaws and how poorly she's treated people around her, especially David and Ani, and strives to make amends.
  • I Am Not My Father: Cassie vehemently denies that she's anything like her father was, despite being a raging alcoholic who treats most of her friends like garbage unless she needs something from them.
  • It's All About Me: Cassie puts many of her closest friends through hoops in order to resolve her problems, while showing little to no sympathy for their situations. Anne and Shane specifically call her out on this as time goes on, which leads to both of them temporarily distancing them from her.
  • It's All My Fault: She blames herself for her father’s death, due to drinking in the pickup truck with him when he crashed.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Cassie can be a selfish alcoholic and is extremely flawed, but deep down she is a good person who does care about her friends and loved ones and wants to bring Alex's killer to justice.
  • Like Parent, Like Child: Turns out that she got her alcoholism from her father.
  • Off the Wagon: She falls off hard in Season 2, and later admits she didn't in fact make a year of sobriety and slipped several times.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: Part of the reason Cassie is so addicted to booze in the present day is because her father encouraged her to drink beers with him as a way of bonding when she was a kid.

     David Bowden

David "Davey" Bowden

Portrayed By: TR Knight

Cassie's older brother who has gone on to live a stable life with a husband and two kids. Despite their difficult relationship over the years, David still cares about his younger sister.

  • Abusive Parents: He had one in Hank who constantly belittled and insulted him and even struck him on occasion and encouraged Cassie to join in. David still understandably loathes him, even after he's been dead for years.
  • Aloof Big Brother: Downplayed. While David still cares about his sister, he is justifiably nervous of her reckless behavior around his kids, and doesn’t condone her lifestyle. It doesn't help that Cassie was horrifically abusive to him when they were both children, egged on by their father.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: In spite of their estranged relationship, David still genuinely loves and cares for Cassie, as he immediately offers to bail her out after she gets arrested during some drunken shenanigans, and later meets her at the airport with a big hug after she barely survives her encounter with Feliks.
  • Big Brother Bully: Inverted. As children, Cassie would constantly bully and abuse David for supposedly being weak, often being egged on by their father Hank.
  • Freudian Excuse: Given how awful his adolescence was, with an abusive father and a sister who joined in for his approval, it's no surprise that David has some deep seated issues in the present.
  • Gayngst: Suffered from this in childhood due to his father bullying him and calling him homophobic slurs in his youth. Thankfully, he's since gone on to live a happier, more open life in adulthood.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: He's only ever referred to as Davey by Cassie.
  • Straight Gay: Although he has a loving husband, David isn’t nearly as flamboyant about his sexuality as other men.

     Hank Bowden

Hank Bowden

Portrayed By: Jason Jones

The father of Cassie and David Bowden whom Cassie had a good relationship with as a child before his tragic death. At least that's what she thinks.

  • Abusive Parents: While in her mind palace, Cassie is forced to confront the fact that Hank was an absolutely horrid father figure to both her and David, as he belittled and insulted his son with homophobic slurs and even physically hurt him, and actively encouraged his daughter to drink alcohol with him, in spite of Cassie being nowhere near the proper age to do so at the time.
  • The Alcoholic: Hank is shown to be a heavy drinker in Cassie's childhood Flashback scenes, and he's directly responsible for his daughter picking up the trope in the present day.
  • Broken Pedestal: He serves as one for Cassie when she finally accepts what a piece of shit he really was.
  • Drunk Driver: Him downing several beers while driving with Cassie is what results in his incredibly predictable death.
  • Hate Sink: He was a truly wretched piece of work with nothing redeeming or likable about him.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Hank meets his end after crashing his pickup trunk in a bout of Alcohol-Induced Idiocy with his daughter. Given how terrible of a dad he was to both his kids however, it's not exactly easy to feel sorry for him.
  • Parental Favoritism: He openly favored Cassie over David and wasn't shy about letting him know either.
  • Posthumous Character: Although Hank is long dead, his influence lingers on Cassie in the present day, and her realizing what kind of person her father really was is part of how she gradually comes to accept who she is and become a better person.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He was physically abusive to David and a flashback to an egg race also shows him pushing over other kids.

     Megan Briscoe

Megan Briscoe

Portrayed By: Rosie Perez

One of Cassie's colleagues at Imperial Atlantic airlines, who she has a close relationship with. Though she seems somewhat stable at first, she's revealed to be working with the North Koreans to sabotage the tech company her husband is working at.

  • Brooklyn Rage: Has the strongest New York accent of all the characters, and it certainly makes itself known when she's angry.
  • Consummate Liar: Megan is scarily competent at telling lies to her husband about why she needs his laptop and why it might be malfunctioning. It's only when she finds out that his computer now has malware on it that the mask finally slips.]]
  • Dark Secret: She's been working with North Korea to smuggle malware onto her husband's computer in exchange for cash.
  • Dangerous Deserter: At the end of Season 1, she gets on a train and flees Rome to escape justice for her crimes against the U.S government.]]
  • Deadpan Snarker: Not as much as Ani, but she definitely has her moments.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Yes Megan, that creepy North Korean guy you've been meeting in public places with the intention to sabotage your husband's laptop totally has your family's best interests at heart. What could possibly go wrong?
  • Hypocrite: When a drunken Cassie phones her in the middle of the night desperate to be with someone, Megan coldly remarks that Cassie only ever seems to phone her when she wants something from her. She quickly decides that hanging out with Cassie sounds like a great idea when she finds out she accidentally left Cassie a message in Korean in her voicemail, and that Cassie has no intention of deleting it.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: The realization of how terrible her crimes were only hits Megan when her husband calls her in a panic about how badly screwed up his laptop is with malware.
  • Regretful Traitor: Though she initially enjoys doing corporate espionage on behalf of North Korea at first, Megan eventually realizes how much damage she's done to her family after her husband calls her completely terrified out of his mind. Her final phone call with her son has her tearfully telling him how to get rid of the malware in his dad's computer, while telling him how much she loves him.
  • Spicy Latina: She's Latina and can be quite emotional.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Spending a year on the run from the U.S and North Korea in Iceland has made Megan quite more formidable. She's learned how to make a special type of poison with the mushrooms in the area, and even manages to subdue an agent with a pipe wrench when she's back in Newark.

     Shane Evans

Shane Evans

Portrayed By: Griffin Matthews

Another one of Cassie's coworkers at Imperial Atlantic airlines, and one of her closest friends. He just so happens to also be an undercover CIA agent to keep tabs on Megan's dealings with the North Koreans.

  • Agent Peacock: A gay pretty boy who also happens to work undercover as a CIA operative.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Just as Cassie seems to be at the mercy of Feliks, Shane barges in and shoots the guy square in the chest, saving her life.
  • Camp Gay: He’s much more flamboyant about his sexuality than Cassie's brother is. At one point, he starts making out with a man he meets at Alex Sokolov's funeral, much to Cassie's bemusement.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Initially seems like a ditzy, but well-meaning flight attendant for Imperial Atlantic airlines. The season finale reveals he’s an undercover CIA agent who had been keeping tabs on Megan’s dealings with the North Koreans.
  • Deep Cover Agent: Even after he’s revealed to be working with the CIA, Shane reveals that he is still maintaining the illusion that he works at Imperial Atlantic, and even offers Cassie a job as an informant.
  • Pet the Dog: After spending much of his time trying to find and incarcerate Megan for much of Season 2, he decides to give her and her family Witness Protection after she trades him some information on North Korea.
  • What the Hell, Hero?:
    • Shane is not pleased to learn that Cassie dragged him to Alex's memorial service to hang out at, pointing out that the place is filled with grieving relatives that he doesn't know. He still has a fling with one of the staff workers though.
    • In Season 2, Shane is nothing short of displeased when he finds out Cassie has been communicating and assisting Megan with remaining on the run, despite her treasonous dealings with the North Koreans. He's further angered when she relapses on alcohol and drunkenly reveals to Shane's boyfriend that he's in the CIA, permanently ruining their relationship.

     Ani Mouradian

Ani Mouradian

Portrayed By: Zosia Mamet

Cassie's lawyer friend who she contacts to figure out how to deal with the Bangkok incident.

  • Accidental Misnaming: Early in the series, Ani calls her assistant Jessica to get her some drinks for Cassie. Cassie then points out that her name is actually Jennifer, which Ani dismisses. Eventually, Ani realizes that her assistant's name really is Jennifer, much to her frustration.
  • Crusading Lawyer: Deconstructed. After Cassie tells her about what happened in Bangkok, Ani does everything she can to sort the mess out legally. Unfortunately, Cassie's poorly plotted shenanigans to find more information on Alex Sokolov make her job even more difficult, and it ultimately escalates to her nearly getting disbarred. By the series end, Ani decides to quit the firm and starts drifting around to find a new job.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Ani deals with a lot of Cassie's erratic behavior and stupid decisions that make her job as a lawyer harder, but the event that ultimately causes her to give up on Cassie completely is when she causes Max to nearly die in a car accident. At that point, Ani ends their friendship on the spot and forces her out of her house. After Max makes a recovery and Cassie is nearly killed in Rome, they make up by the series' end.
  • Fiery Redhead: She's a tough, no-nonsense lawyer who does her best to help Cassie get through her traumatic experiences at Bangkok.
  • Flanderization: In Season 1, Ani shows a nervousness to admit to Cassie that she's actually dating Max, but when the chips are down, she admits her love to him. Come Season 2, and Ani's noncommittal behavior is brought to the forefront where she not only is she subconscious of wearing Max's engagement ring (to the point of straight-up lying to his parents when they ask her about it), but she completely botches a job interview because of her lack of self-confidence.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Ani acting belligerent to Max's parents regarding her engagement to their son in Season 2 was pretty atrocious behavior from her, but Ani does have a point in that Max's family was being far too nosy into their personal life, to the point of speculating about their future grandchildren aloud and outright announcing to Ani that they're giving her tea that increases fertility, despite Ani not wanting children.
  • Opposites Attract: With Max. Max is a silly and idealistic guy who after some coercing is willing to do some illegal things to help Cassie learn about the Sokolov family, whereas Ani is a straight-laced lawyer who rarely kids around and is generally focused on trying to prove Cassie's innocence the legal way.
  • She Is Not My Girlfriend: Gender-Inverted Example with Max. Despite the fact that Cassie just met him for the first time showering in her house, she has the gall to claim that she and Max are not dating. Ani quickly drops this attitude a few episodes later, and especially when he ends up in the hospital after getting hit by a car. This starts to become deconstructed in the second season, as as Ani's terror of committing to her relationship to Max really starts to hurt him personally when she insists that they're not engaged, including to Max's own parents. Thankfully, they commit themselves to one another and get married by the second season finale.
  • Took a Level in Badass: In Season 1, Ani never was involved in the show's action parts, due to being primarily focused on trying to help Cassie through legal means. In Season 2, Ani's forced to deal with a crazy bounty hunter couple, and successfully manages to taze them when they have Max at their mercy.

     Max

Max

Portrayed By: Deniz Akdeniz

Ani's goofy but well-meaning boyfriend, and a Techno Wizard who helps Cassie investigate the Alexander Sokolov mystery.

  • Even the Guys Want Him: Played for laughs in Season 2, where Max constantly sings praise for Cassies's boyfriend Marco and considers him a very cool guy to hang around. Ani lampshades this, and asking why Max is so interested in a man he only met a few minutes ago.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • While Max is willing to help Cassie by staying up all night to put pieces of paper together, he draws the line at breaking into Alex's apartment for clues. Eventually subverted when he relents and proves to be incredibly helpful.
    • While Max is generally okay with Ani being shy about admitting her relationship with him, he gets really angry in Season 2 when Ani makes a scene and tries to downplay their engagement status to his parents, indicating her words have really hurt him.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: Becomes this with Cassie as the two of them work together to try to piece together the Alexander Sokolov mystery. After a heartfelt moment with Ani after waking up from his coma, his first question is to ask how Cassie is.
  • Naked First Impression: Cassie ends up meeting Max by accident while he’s completely naked in the shower, which both of them are shocked by. He surprisingly takes it pretty well, lampshading how Ani doesn't like to be open about their relationship.
  • Nice Guy: Max is a decent and upbeat guy throughout the series, and his accident is what tears a rift between Ani and Cassie midway through the show.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Max is generally a talkative, jokey guy who doesn't care all that much about Ani's noncommittal behavior for the most part. So when he stews in quiet Tranquil Fury towards Ani after the social disaster at his parents' house, you know he's been seriously offended.
  • Opposites Attract: With Ani. Ani is a straight-laced lawyer who rarely kids around and is generally focused on her job, while Max is a silly and idealistic guy who’s much more willing to go along with Cassie to break into Alexander’s apartment to find information.
  • Techno Wizard: Downplayed. Max is capable of hacking into most things related to computers, but he’s not a professional by any means. He’s unable to get into Alex’s computer after it requires a second authentication key (Miranda destroys the computer by the time they find a way how), and he ends up triggering a failsafe that alerts Lionfish to their location while hacking into their warehouse.

    Enrico

Enrico

Portrayed by: Alberto Frezza

An Italian Old Flame of Cassie's who currently lives as a bartender in Rome.

  • Chekhov's Gunman: He's introduced early on as a former lover and friend of Cassie's, with no relevance outside of establishing how Cassie really gets around. When Cassie learns about how dangerous Feliks is though, Enrico is the first person she turns to for protection, which he happily does. Bonus points in that Enrico gets a revolver from his grandmother for Cassie's defense, thus making the "gunman" part quite literal.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Enrico initially seems to be mostly interested in getting back into Cassie's pants once she reunites with him in Rome for the first time. But when Cassie makes it clear that she's seeing someone else, he immediately backs off and wishes Cassie the best for her future. He also drops everything to help keep Cassie safe when he learns about Feliks, showing he does genuinely care about her.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Enrico is more than willing to break off their sexual relationship when he finds out Cassie is seeing someone else.
  • Sacrificial Lion: He's stabbed by Feliks in order to demonstrate just how dangerous the man is towards Cassie. Though he's later revealed to have survived shortly after, with him giving Cassie a fatigued thumbs up as he's being hauled away to an ambulance.

    Alexander Sokolov

Alexander "Alex" Sokolov

Portrayed by: Michiel Huisman

A friendly businessman Cassie meets on their way to Bangkok. His Plot-Triggering Death is what causes Cassie's life to go through hell, and he pops up as a strange sort of Spirit Advisor for her in Cassie's mind.

  • Deadpan Snarker: Constantly points out the fallacies in Cassie's life and in her memories.
  • Chekhov's Gun: His copy of Crime and Punishment contains a clue to get to his missing cash.
  • Spirit Advisor: He constantly tries to give advice and talk to Cassie in her mind, even if it's not convenient for him to do so.
  • Dead Person Conversation: Kind of. While the real Alex is most definitely dead with no way of speaking to Cassie posthumously, she nonetheless hallucinates the man and speaks with him constantly during the "Mind Palace" sequences.
  • Posthumous Character: Alex is dead for most of the series, but who he was and the things he while he was alive drive about 90% of the plot.
  • Properly Paranoid: Mind Palace Alex is at least perceptive enough to notice how strange and suspicious Buckley is, to the point of constantly referring to him as "dead cat guy".

     Miranda Croft

Miranda Croft/Elena King

Portrayed By: Michelle Gomez

A member of Lionfish who is partially responsible for what happened in Bangkok. Throughout the show, she stalks Cassie in an attempt to "clean up her messes."

  • Adaptational Heroism: Of a sort. In the book, Miranda is the one who kills Alexander in Bangkok. In the series, Feliks does it instead.
  • Adaptational Nationality: She’s Russian in the book, but retains her actress’s natural Scottish accent in this series.
  • Anti-Villain: Miranda has committed terrible acts on behalf of Lionfish, no doubt. However, she clearly doesn't care for her Bad Boss Victor, and she also grows genuinely fond of Cassie as they work together to take down Feliks.
  • Conspicuous Gloves: Wears them as part of her "woman in black" persona.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: She is initially only after Cassie for an opportunity to get Alexander Sokolov’s cash, and doesn’t care much at all about her well being. After she's forced to work with Cassie to escape the country and/or find Alex’s money, she finds that Cassie's starting to grow on her, and actively wants to keep her safe. At the end of the series, Miranda even sends her Alex's copy of Crime and Punishment minus the coordinates to the money as a gift, promising Cassie she'll see her again.
  • Determinator: Even after her boss gives her an order to stop what she's doing and return to England, Miranda refuses to give up on investigating Cassie and finding Alex's money. After finding out who Cassie really is, she still has shades of this trope, as she's willing to get on a flight while bleeding out to rescue Cassie from Feliks.
  • Evil Brit: A Scottish espionage agent who has killed people, stolen identities and committed several other crimes within her line of work.
  • Evil Wears Black: Wears consistently dark clothing in every appearance she’s in, minus the flashback scenes in Bangkok.
  • I Have Many Names: Miranda admits to Ani that she's committed identity theft many times in her line of work, much to the latter's frustration. One of her aliases is Elena King, which Max discovers while hacking into Lionfish's warehouse.
  • Sinister Switchblade: Miranda’s default weapon is a butterfly knife, which she uses consistently throughout the series.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: She survives Feliks’s attack on her in this series, which she didn’t in the book.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: She initially thinks Cassie is a rogue agent who has hidden Alex’s cash somewhere for her own reasons. When she finally realizes that Cassie really is just a regular flight attendant with zero espionage or combat training, she realizes just how fucked both of them are.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: In the first season, it was entirely clear what Miranda's fate is after Feliks is subdued in Rome. In the very least, we knew that she somehow managed to escape the hotel room during the commotion and got to Alex's money, but it was unknown if she managed to get medical help, or where she even went. The second season reveals that she made it out okay and continued to run her own network. She returns to help Cassie with smuggling Megan Briscoe out of Iceland.

     Buckley Ware

Buckley Ware/ Feliks

Portrayed By: Colin Woodell

A random guy Cassie picks up while bar hopping, whom she begins dating over the course of the series. That is, until she discovers his true identity as Feliks, a psychotic member of Lionfish who is intent on killing her.

  • Ax-Crazy: According to Miranda, Feliks is an incredibly disturbing and dangerous man who has killed women, children, and even animals in horrifying ways. She even goes so far as to call him "Victor's pet psychopath".
  • Bad People Abuse Animals: After sleeping together for a second time, Buckley/Feliks tells Cassie a story about how he discovered several of the stray cats he adopted were hung up by a tree. As it turns out, Feliks himself was the one who killed and strung them up.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: At first, Buckley just appears to be a fun and dreamy guy who wants to run away with Cassie, and takes joy in getting wasted and having lots of sex with her. It's later revealed that he’s a murderous psychopath who not only was the one who killed Alex in the first place, but has been stalking Cassie since the beginning of the show.
  • Can't Hold His Liquor: Subverted. Buckley initially seems to be the guy who gets wasted at bars without too many drinks for fun, and participates in Cassie’s drunken shenanigans for shits and giggles. It’s later revealed in the season finale that Feliks had only pretended to be drunk to be with Cassie.
  • Chekhov's Classroom: After Cassie and Buckley sleep together for the first time at his house, the latter briefly goes on a somewhat disturbing story about how he used to adopt and take care of multiple cats, up until he found them hung from a tree. When trying to evade him in Episode 7, Miranda reveals that Feliks himself was the one who murdered and strung them up.
  • Conspicuous Gloves: Wears these when he’s breaking into Ani’s apartment to get to Miranda and Cassie in Episode 7.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: On the outside, Buckley looks like a harmless American guy who just wants to talk about things and have some fun with Cassie. In actuality, he’s a very dangerous British member of Lionfish who is capable of subduing the likes of FBI agents and Miranda Croft.
  • Dragon with an Agenda: Played with. Feliks is sent by Victor to kill Alexander Sokolov and Cassie in order to cover up the Bangkok incident. He kills the former, but falls in love with the latter, and pretends to be a drunken American actor in order to get closer to Cassie. He plays the role flawlessly up until Cassie escapes him at the airport, in which he finally decides to act on his orders. Even then though, he constantly talks about how he fell for Cassie, and still wants to be with her, much to her disgust.
  • Dragon-in-Chief: Victor might be his boss, but its Feliks whose the bigger threat to the heroes having killed countless people before hand and outlives Victor after the latter got killed anti-climactically, becoming Climax Boss that needs to be dealt with.
  • Dragon Their Feet: He's the right hand man of Victor, the head of Lionfish. While Victor gets dispatched by Miranda relatively quickly, Feliks proves to be the more immediate threat as he's still following Cassie all the way.
  • Evil Brit: After his true colors are revealed in Episode 6, Feliks drops the American accent he’s been using up to that point in favor of his natural English one. It’s incredibly unnerving.
  • Expy:
  • The Heavy: Feliks is the one who follows Victor's orders to kill Alexander Sokolov after Miranda is unable to retrieve his money from him. All the actions he pulls off throughout the series are on Victor's command.
  • In-Series Nickname: Alex dismissively refers to Buckley as "dead cat guy" whenever he refers to him, due to a somewhat disturbing story he tells Cassie about how he used to care for stray cats up until they were hung from a tree.
  • It's Personal with the Dragon: The Big Bad is Victor who sent Feliks to kill Alex, but Victor gets killed by Miranda before Cassie ever meets him. Instead Cassie develops the conflict with Feliks, as it he is who got her involved in Alex's murder, stalked her to New York, and manipulated her into falling for him only to become horrified with when she learns who Feliks really is.
  • Master Actor: Feliks manages to keep up the act that he's an unemployed American actor named Buckley for most of the show, only getting his cover blown because of Miranda Croft.
  • Master of Disguise: Feliks is incredibly good at making himself look like other people, which he uses to his advantage to stalk Cassie while she's at Bangkok. Many of his disguises are as simple as growing a beard and changing his hairstyle.
  • Professional Killer: He’s the one who is sent to kill Alexander Sokolov in Bangkok, and later executes Sabrina and Agent Chavez.
  • Psycho for Hire: Feliks loves his job taking great joy in killing people in gruesome fashions.
  • Sinister Switchblade: Like Miranda, he has one of these.
  • The Sociopath: Although it seems like Feliks genuinely liked Cassie, it's clear that he only saw her as a way to enjoy himself, with very little care for her as a human being.
  • Stalker with a Crush: The season finale reveals that he had been following Cassie the entire time she was in Bangkok, as well as a few moments when she returns to the States. He’s also adamant that up until Cassie faked being attacked by him in the airport he was supposedly genuinely invested in their relationship. The finale of the second season reveals that even in prison, he still can't get her out of his head.
  • Toxic Friend Influence: Of all the characters introduced on the show, Buckley is by far the most willing to participate in Cassie’s drunken shenanigans, despite them being incredibly self destructive for her. This turns out to have been intentional on his part, as Feliks was attracted to the fact that Cassie was "beautifully fucked up".
  • Walking Spoiler: The last two episodes of Season 1 completely flip the audience's (and Cassie's) perception of Buckley on their heads after Miranda unwittingly reveals his true identity.
  • Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: Ani is incredibly nonplussed about how Buckley’s name is utterly ridiculous and simple, and even the Alex hallucination refuses to call him anything other than "dead cat guy". Turns out, it’s not his actual name.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Miranda offhandedly mentions to Cassie that Feliks has murdered both women and children in the past.
