A big time researcher at the site. Not the friendliest person.

  • Action Girl: Despite being a researcher, Dr. Buck does have her moments of using weaponry to fight off SCPs, as shown with SCP-3166 and SCP-4335.
  • Asshole Victim:
    • After spending all her time being a callous prick, it can be hard to sympathize with her when she gets demoted to monitoring SCP-178.
    • Then after treating 3887-A like something she scraped off her shoe, 3887-B destroys the woman's composure and leaves her crying like a little girl on its cell floor.
    • Several years of callous abuse from her towards Gustav gets her shot in the arm by him after she throws another insult at him while at gunpoint. He even mentions that he waited years to do this.
  • Break Them by Talking: A very hungry SCP-3887 picks her as its newest source of fear to feast on. Reducing her to a crying mess with nothing but a venomous speech on her past.
  • Bullying a Dragon:
    • Despite knowing how overprotective SCP-3887-B is over any perceived threat to 3887-A, Buck spends almost the entire interview verbally lashing the girl. 3887-B finally has enough, picks Buck as its new food source and completely emotionally tears her apart for her attitude in a little under 3 minutes.
    • When being held at gunpoint by Gustav, she still tries to insult him. This only gets her shot by him.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: She's starting to show affection towards agent Green, and after her breakdown with 3887-B, Dr. Collingwood has started making some small progress into making the woman more sociable.
    • Further displayed during the Gorefield incident, where Buck points out to Collingwood that "at least we had each other" while recuperating from the fallout of the previous episode.
  • The Dreaded: SCP-1913-1 is afraid of Dr. Buck thanks to the very rough treatment she gave it by shaking its container. Dr. Collingwood merely mentioning her is enough to get the compulsive liar SCP-1913-1 to cooperate.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Despite how cold she is, even she feels sympathy for Dr. Bright's familial situation and admits that their situation makes her reluctant to start a family.
    • She disapproves of Gustav's excitement over the potential of the discovery of a new Keter class, which is fair given how dangerous they are.
  • Failed a Spot Check: While normally very on top of things, during "The Blue Key" she fails to check the previous expedition logs for SCP-860. And allows the twin brothers of a lost D-Class in on the latest test. She gets roundly chewed out by Director Jones of the Ethics Committee, and reassigned to SCP-178.
  • Freudian Excuse: Implied to have a childhood trauma that has resulted in her cold personality, claustrophobia, and fear of being insignificant.
  • Foil: As the face of her team Dr. Buck has more than a few, but the best one seems to be Agent Carson, oddly enough. Both are the epitome of professional and casual in their division of the foundation, with many finding them both insufferable. What connects them is their reliability in the face of disaster, best exemplified in their handling of SCP-4335. Where in the span of one conversation the two managed to deduce the perfect way of not just fighting off the rampaging SCP, but also containing it better than the entire foundation had in years — all while snarking at each other the entire time.
  • "It" Is Dehumanizing: If you are an SCP, you are not a person. Even if you're just an otherwise ordinary guy. She refuses to call SCP's by anything but their designation, with the only known exceptions are Dr. Bright and his siblings (if they were to had a name).
  • Jerkass: In addition to a personality one would generously call frigid, she's also very happy to chuck a D-Class at something without blinking an eye. She's transferred to manage SCP-178 specifically because she's so ruthless and unpleasant, as the previous researcher, Dr. Gerald, in charge made the "mistake" of letting D-Class survivors of the SCP survive to tell the tale to their fellow conscripts, causing volunteer testing numbers for it to plummet. Said researcher was also too "soft" to force D-Class to test the glasses in spite of their protests.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Despite her unpleasant behavior, she's more than correct when pointing out certain dangers of dealing with SCPs, especially to Gustav.
  • Kick the Dog:
    • All but sends D-4444 to his death because she's annoyed at her reassignment.
    • She's extremely dismissive of Gustav whenever he asks Captain Obvious questions, just because she's tired of him. Gustav repays the favor by shooting her.
  • Not So Above It All:
    • She has a very mocking smirk after showing Mr. Moore a videotape about SCP-2191.
    • After successfully tossing SCP-096 into the sun, she actively encourages Collingwood to relax and enjoy the celebration. Yes, Dr. Buck tells someone to take it easy. Afterwards, when Collingwood understands and leaves the conversation in a more relaxed mood, Dr. Buck's usual frown turns into a genuinely happy smile.
Dr. Collingwood: You're telling me to relax? God, what is this world coming to?
  • Not So Stoic:
    • She shows genuine fear when dealing with the old man and the creatures seen by SCP-178.
    • She is reduced to a sobbing mess after a Breaking Speech by SCP-3887 as it brings up her Dark and Troubled Past.
  • Odd Friendship:
  • Opposites Attract: She and Agent Green could not be more opposite of one another. Which didn't stop her from developing feelings for him.
  • Perpetual Frowner: As her personality indicates, she's not big on smiling.
  • Plot Armor: Lawrence sarcastically calls her "bulletproof" for her miraculous luck at surviving all SCP tests and breakouts she's near without so much as a scratch. Notably, she isn't killed in the SCP-178 episode, which is based on an experiment log where the scientists ambivalent to the dangers presented to the D-Class they're testing them on are karmically slain by the entities visible through the glasses. She's even held her own in direct encounters against SCP-3166 and SCP-4335. Unlike Director Zolgamax Jones who's killed off by being shot in the head by Gustav, she's only shot in the arm to ensure she'll survive... and witness the nuclear explosion that Gustav set off. She's only saved because the teleportation device sent everyone alive in the room to another dimension.
  • Put on a Bus: Her departure is briefly mentioned in the episode focusing on the Scarlet King. While the real life reason for her disappearance is due to her voice actress quitting, an in-universe explanation has yet to be provided.
  • Token Evil Teammate: She basically sent a man to his death because she hated her job.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Insulting Gustav while at gunpoint was a very stupid decision that may very well have gotten her killed.
  • "Well Done, Daughter!" Gal: Implied to be one. Director Jones implied that her father was someone very important in the foundation, and 3887-B pointed out she had a fear of being insignificant.

    Agent Lawrence

Pre-exposure to SCP-106
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_49bd242a232c05c38838135144b9e315_07b96225_2048.png
Post exposure to SCP-106
Voiced By: Ryan Stewart

A site security guard.

  • Accidental Hero: He admitted that he didn't intend to save anyone from SCP-106, just turn the lights back on to scare them off.
  • Action Survivor: Survived the Old Man, an army of vampires, Mother In the Ice, being hunted by SCP-966, a horde of Zombie Plague infectees, and a killer ice cream truck.
  • Badass Normal: Fought off an army of vampires to save agent Green.
  • Big Damn Heroes: He managed to save Gustav, just as SCP-106 was about to kill him. Dr. Buck mentions that he has a habit of doing so. He also manages to save Dr. Buck, Dr. Collingwood, and Agent Carson by shooting Gustav after his reveal as the Mole, preventing him from capturing SCP-999.
    • He was on the receiving end when Collingwood saved him from the Mother in the ice, Carson saved him from the Sleep Killer, and when the backup he called in saved him from the Ice Cream Truck.
  • Dented Iron: Is rendered permanently colorblind after helping contain SCP-106. He is moved to a particular MTF division where this handicap would be less of a hindrance.
  • Disability Immunity: His colorblindness following the SCP-106 incident makes him immune to SCP-2774-A's effect, which cannot affect those with are unable to see red or green. This allows him to safely capture a victim who had it on their television screen.
  • Disease Bleach: In addition to the colorblindness, his encounter with 106 leaves his face sunken and worn-looking.
  • Official Couple: With Dr. Collingwood. The Finale reveals that he has plans to propose to her, evidenced with the engagement ring in his locker.
  • Plot Armor: Perhaps even moreso than Dr. Buck. He's survived several direct encounters with dangerous SCPs, including the Old Man, the Sleep Killers, an army of vampires, a zombie plague, and was rescued at the last second from SCP-490 thanks to backup. He's even survived the other side of SCP-1562, a slide that teleports those who slide down it into another dimension — and has claimed the lives of everyone else that was sent in there.
  • Ship Tease: With Dr. Collingwood in "Laugh Is Fun".
  • Survivor Guilt: Feels partly responsible for Agent Sophia's death after narrowly escaping SCP-490, which managed to consume her after she volunteered to drive the truck back to Site 17.
  • Talking the Monster to Death: He manages to defeat the entity behind SCP-1562, by helping the child understand that they're the one in control of the realm, not the dimension's king.
  • Tempting Fate: Initially calls the extraction of SCP-490 one of the easiest extractions he's ever done. Sure enough, the killer ice cream truck activates and kills off his newbie partner Agent Sophia, and very nearly takes him too if the backup hadn't arrived in time.

    Dr. Molly Collingwood
A site researcher, later promoted to caretaker of SCP-999.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_31819a9bf40c5e3087a33f9e7a3059dd_411f9e84_2048.png
Voiced By: Ariel Hack

  • Ambiguously Brown: Starting at "Monster Under The Bed", which graduates the episodes to full color, she's given a case of this.
  • Birds of a Feather: As the two nicest and well-meaning members of their team, if not the entire foundation, it's no surprise that Molly and Lawrence became a quick couple.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Justified. After her experiences with both SCP-4158 and SCP-5962, two grotesque monsters that have rather horrific ways of producing meat, she considers becoming a vegetarian.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: In her debut short "Origin Of The Tickle Monster", the message from the 0-5 Council states her first name is Isabelle. Jump forward to "Sleep Killer" and it's suddenly changed to Molly.
  • Go Mad from the Revelation: Is quite eager to become 999's new caretaker. Then she gets the job in "Origin Of The Tickle Monster" and learns just what 999 is. When she returns, she's terrified of him.
  • The Heart: It's the policy of the foundation to de-humanize everything and everyone their members run into to the point that even befriending their co-workers is almost an alien concept. But Dr. Collingwood befriends and brightens the day of everyone she meets, even the frigid and cruel Dr. Buck... Except Agent Carson.
  • Jerkass to One: While she is a nice and affable person, she really hates Carson. Since he ran out on Lawrence during the Mother in Ice incident. To be fair, Lawrence really should have run when Carson told him to.
  • Only Friend: The only staff member who makes a consistent effort to be social with the notoriously frigid Dr. Buck.
  • Ship Tease: With Agent Lawrence in "Laugh Is Fun". She calls herself his girlfriend in "Sleep Killer".
  • Token Good Teammate: Kind and pleasant even while offering euthanasia.

    Agent Carson
Voiced By: Cory Crater

An MTF agent. Exceedingly blunt.

  • Ascended Extra: His appearances were sparse compared to other members of the cast, and he was primarily shown interacting with Lawrence and Collingwood, save for when he worked with Agent Ramsey in the SCP-953 video. After the shift to the New Dimension, he’s been appearing far more frequently and has been interacting more with the other characters.
  • Big Damn Heroes: He saves Lawrence from the Sleep Killer. He also saves Dr. Buck, Dr. Collingwood, and Jim Davis from SCP-3166.
  • Brutal Honesty: Carson doesn't mince his words. Which tends to annoy whoever has the misfortune of being around him.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Comes with the territory of being such a terse talker.
  • Foil: Is turning into one for Dr. Buck, oddly enough. Both are the epitome of professional and casual in their division of the foundation, with many finding them both insufferable. What connects them is their reliability in the face of disaster, best exemplified in their handling of SCP-4335. In the span of one conversation they managed to deduce the perfect way of not just fighting off the rampaging SCP but also containing it better than the entire foundation had in years — all while snarking at each other the entire time.
  • The Faceless: His face is never shown as he's always wearing a mask.
  • Hyper-Competent Sidekick: Whatever team's he's on, he's inevitably this. As while he's almost never in charge he's smart enough to always ask questions, fire at the first sign of trouble, and run away when that doesn't work. Because of this he's the longest serving Mobile Task force operative with his team having a reputation for surviving.
  • Red Herring: His face never being shown, his being a trained personnel as well as certain questionable behaviour like bribery is likely to make one suspect him as the Chaos Insurgency mole. It's not him, but Gustav, and Carson is likely innocent.

    Gustav (Spoilers)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_d6fe3f7c36fe4323fed7993be76a636f_ebb05199_2048.png
Voiced By: Bronson Lasseter

A new research assistant assigned to the site. He's a secret agent sent by the Chaos Insurgency.

  • Abhorrent Admirer: He looks up to and admires Dr. Buck. Dr. Buck conversely seems to barely tolerate his existence.
  • A Degree in Useless: Majored in theatre of all things in college. Turns out, it was pretty useful for fooling the Foundation.
Dr. Buck: I'm sure your mother was...very proud?
    Gustav: She...wasn't.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Appears to be an innocent and incredibly clueless, dorky fellow. It's all a ruse as a Chaos Insurgency agent to infiltrate the Foundation. When he shows his true colors, he attempts to nuke the site, shoots Director Jones dead, wounds Dr. Buck, and attempts to escape with SCP-999.
  • Captain Obvious: His questions relating to SCP's and testing procedures are usually the most obvious ones. It's because he's the Chaos Insurgency mole trying to learn more about the SCPs.
  • Catharsis Factor: In-universe. After years of having to put up with Dr. Buck's attitude, he takes great satisfaction in shooting her.
  • Chekhov's Skill: His major in Theatre is mentioned once. It really helps him act the part of a Foundation agent to avoid suspicion, as he's the Chaos Insurgency mole.
  • The Dog Bites Back: After years of callous treatment by Dr. Buck, Gustav is all too gleeful when he shoots her in the arm after his reveal as the Chaos Insurgency mole. He even mentions that he'd been waiting years for the opportunity to shoot her.
  • Evil Laugh: Pulls one when he shoots Dr. Buck, coupled with a Slasher Smile.
Gustav: HAHAHAHA! You know how long I've been waiting to do that? YEARS!
  • Fanboy: Of Dr. Bright.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: It seems that not a lot of people at the Foundation like Gustav due to his inexperience and barrage of questions, with most on average terms with him. It's possible that he acted like this intentionally to drive away any suspicion on him.
  • The Mole: Gustav is a mole for the Chaos Insurgency. Using his guise as the new and inexperienced researcher he's responsible for sabotaging containment and releasing encrypted information over the years. This culminates in The Finale, where he sets off a containment breach and activated the on-site nuke in an attempt to steal SCP-999.
  • New Meat: He's a relatively new research assistant, to which Dr. Bright states how he looks "pale and unimportant" and fitting in just fine.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Turns out, he's the Chaos Insurgency mole, and his act of asking useless, obvious questions was a ruse to get more information about the Foundation's SCPs.
  • Oblivious to His Own Description: Calls the Foundation "demented people" right after murdering one of them in cold blood, shooting another one and laughing insanely about it. And this is before he prepares to leave them all to die in a nuclear explosion.
  • Overlord Jr.: His father was a founding member of the Chaos Insurgency.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Gradually gains a desire to see things die and is enthusiastic about new Keter-class entities being discovered while never losing his original chipper personality. And he goes straight to the evil side when he shoots Director Jones dead, revealing himself to be the Chaos Insurgency mole.
  • Villain Ball: He non-fatally shoots Dr. Buck, sparing her so that she can witness the on-site nuclear detonation while he teleports away with SCP-999. He doesn't realize that the teleporter would teleport everyone alive in the room including Dr. Buck, thus sparing her from the demise he wanted to give her. His Evil Gloating also delays things enough for Agent Lawrence to enter the room and shoot him, then get teleported along as well.
  • You Will Be Spared: The only reason why he doesn't kill Dr. Buck with his gunshot is because he wants her to witness the explosion from the nuclear device he set off. It fails because the teleportation device also teleported her with it, saving her.

Original Dimension

    Director Zolgamax Jones
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_5d7021bed0747aa8d5e0641d60325ab7_6deeda26_2048.png
Head of the Ethics Committee and Site Director of the main group.
  • Aerith and Bob: The first name 'Zolgamax' definitely sticks out next to everyone else.
  • Big Good: He is the boss of the main characters.
  • Boom, Headshot!: Gustav kills him this way in the back off the head.
  • The Dandy: The image and persona Director Jones likes to exhibit when he's not on the clock. Otherwise, he's humorless and almost entirely too professional.

    Dr. Numita
Dr. Buck's father, who is even more stern and unpleasant than her daughter.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Has not physically appeared since "The Red Sea Object". His voice is heard in SCP-3887's video during Dr. Buck's flashback to her childhood.
  • Jerkass: He doesn't have high regard for D-Classes, calling Angelo a pathetic worm, and constantly argues with him during his travel through SCP-093's dimension.

    Matt Moore
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_ba036e9b770540cfead4c1af0cf6fdfd_2e86f9e3_540.png
Voiced By: Max Root

Another site researcher. A bit socially inept.

  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Despite working for the SCP Foundation, where the fantastical and unexplainable is the rule and not the exception, he scoffs at the idea that SCP-2191 causes earthquakes.
  • Damsel in Distress: Lawrence says he has the eyes of one.
  • Innocently Insensitive: He tells Dr. Buck that everyone hates Dr. Numita, unaware he is her father.
  • Odd Name Out: The only recurring researcher who appears to not have a doctorate, as he's referred to as Mr. instead of Dr.

    Roland
Dr. Collingwood's assistant.

    Agent Thomas Green Sr.
Voiced By: K. William Scott

An MTF agent at the site.

  • Foil: He's everything Dr. Buck isn't. Unprofessional, unkempt, amiable and friendly with the D class. Which makes their working together a unique experience.
  • Made of Iron: Survives a disastrous MTF assignment into SCP-2191, and has a lamprey like monster pulled out of his stomach. He's cognizant enough just a few hours later to ask that Dr. Buck doesn't visit him in his state.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: His son diednote  when Green made the mistake of looking into SCP-023’s eyes.
  • Perma-Stubble: To drive home schlubby images, he has a case of this.
  • Uncertain Doom: It's unclear whether the nuke activated just as Dr. Buck and the others were teleported into the new dimension, leaving his fate and the others at the site unknown.

     Agent Ramsey
An MTF Agent. Has a personal vendetta against SCP-953.
  • It's Personal: Towards SCP-953 after the latter weeded out the home of the former, and killed an unidentified loved one. Has requested for 953's termination several times, but they are always ignored even after the numerous escapes and murder sprees.
  • Token Minority: She is the only African member of the cast.
  • Uncertain Doom: It's unclear whether the nuke activated just as Dr. Buck and the others were teleported into the new dimension, leaving her fate and the others at the site unknown.

    Agent Sophia
A newbie agent tasked to help Agent Lawrence to secure SCP-490, the Ice Cream Truck.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Heavily implied. She tries out the "Super Surprise Flavor" ice cream (basically human flesh from SCP-490's previous victim), immediately deduces its taste as human flesh, and then eats it instead of spitting it out like Agent Lawrence.
  • New Meat: A new agent on her first day of duty.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: She's introduced in SCP-490's episode as a newbie agent, and becomes the Ice Cream Truck's next victim.

    Dr. Langford
Another site researcher. He thought by killing SCP-1337's parents would force her to move on, making her inactive for quite a while.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Decided to kill SCP-1337's parents to lessen the funds the Foundation uses. He gets his comeuppance years later though, where SCP-1337 became a vengeful spirit who would kill anyone who doesn't stop to give her a ride.

    Dr. Logan
Another site researcher, who is rather unpleasant.

  • Asshole Victim: He's knocked out by the Chaos Insurgency mole when he was on nuclear reactor guard duty. Considering that he's one of the most callous site researchers, he deserved every bit of it.
  • Jerkass: Arguably worse than Dr. Buck, callously sending D-Class and agents to do tests that normally end with their deaths and doesn't care to learn the names of the agents.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Makes the plan to send the SCP-096 to the sun. At first, it appears to be a successful neutralization, but the ending shows that not only is SCP-096 not dead but that it's heading back to the Earth.
  • Uncertain Doom: It's unclear whether the nuke activated just as Dr. Buck and the others were teleported into the new dimension, leaving his fate and the others at the site unknown.

    Dr. Tim Ahmad
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_3b1360265c7264ed24d07ccfff1b5d80_ebe4a579_540.png
Another site researcher. Had a bad habit of getting into bad situations.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He greatly disapproved of Dr. Langford killing SCP-1337's parents to force her to move on, especially since it might make things worse, which it did.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite his unassuming appearance and attitude, he's actually one of the most senior and capable members of staff. He is thus far the only one Director Jones has spoken to on friendly terms, and Jones also inferred that the only reason he has his position to begin with was that Dr. Ahmad didn't apply for it himself.
  • Properly Paranoid: He believed that nothing good could come from killing Mary's parents. Since she came back a Vengeful Ghost, he was right.
  • Supporting Protagonist: He is the first named recurring character.
  • Unluckily Lucky: Has crossed paths with The Old Man, Joe Schmo and the Possessive mask and survived every encounter.

    Dr. Alto Clef
One of the most (in)famous researchers in a line of work where famous is the last thing you want to be.
  • Alternate Self: Assuming he didn’t hop dimensions too, he appears to have one in the new dimension. There’s very little difference between them.
  • The Faceless: The majority of his face is hidden in the shadow of his cowboy hat at all times. Even in a well-lit room. Subverted with his New Dimension counterpart who lifts his hat up a few seconds after he’s introduced.
  • Interspecies Romance: Coupled with Childhood Friend Romance, Clef has known and loved SCP-166's mother, a forest goddess with hooves and antlers since they were both children.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Him blasting SCP-682 with the PSX-820 only accelerates 682’s transformation to his Glorified form.
  • Open Secret: It's almost too obvious to everyone even with all the redactions in any related documentation that he is SCP-166's father.

    Dr. Jack Bright
One of the most (in)famous researchers in a line of work where famous is the last thing you want to be. He was trapped in SCP-963 after being killed by Able.
  • The Cameo: He cameos in the SCP-166 video.
  • Complete Immortality: There is currently no known way to kill Bright permanently after he merged with SCP-963.

New Dimension

     Riley
A researcher from the new dimension Dr. Buck and the others are staying in. She's curious from where they've come from but is always told to ignore it.
  • Cowardly Lion: Being new at leading the team handling SCP-4335's containment, Riley loses all her composure when it breaches containment. However, she along with Agent Carson and Dr. Buck manage to fight and re-contain 4335 by using electromagnetic weapons in a direct encounter.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: Riley has matching red eyes and hair.
  • Distaff Counterpart: The fact that she acts like a female version of Gustav is not lost on the rest of the cast. They, or at least Buck, are hesitant to trust her because of this.
