Villains

    Kang the Conqueror

Nathaniel Richards

  • Authority Equals Asskicking: He's the powerful ruler of a time-traveling empire, and when he has to face enemies personally, he manhandles them like they are nothing.
  • Big Bad: the Conqueror is the one who set the plot in motion by invading Remnant, he's the overarching threat Ruby and her friends would have to face to save their world.
  • Composite Character: As it's a Recursive Fanfiction based on Hunters of Justice, Kang takes Brainiac's role as an powerful invader who attacks Remnant. He also takes on the respective roles of Adam and Jinn as the one who costs Yang her right arm and the one to inform RWBY and JNR the full truth about Ozpin and Salem.
  • Fair-Play Villain: Even though he could have just executed RWBY and JNR, he chose to give them the chance to fight if it meant breaking their spirits.
  • Misplaced Retribution: Kang assigns blame for the destruction of Remnant, and the subsequent transformation of the Grimm into a cosmic plague ravaging worlds on not just Salem and her followers, but also on RWBYJNPR and some of the others opposed to her whose only crime was losing to her in a now averted Bad Future, even sentencing them to death for it.
  • Not So Omniscient After All: While his time-traveling makes him rather knowledgable, there are still holes in the information he has, especially regarding the butterfly effects his own actions can cause. For example, this is why he doesn't just eliminate Salem before she gained her immortality, or go back in time to keep RWBYJNPR from escaping. Fury even uses this, giving a specific example in his mistake about Captain America, to point out that his claims of RWBYJNPR being responsible for dooming the universe are bullshit.
  • Robot Master: Invades Remnant with his army of robots.

    Doctor Doom

Victor Von Doom

  • Hidden Villain: His involvement with the assault by the Frightful Four and the Raft breakout are well hidden from the heroes.
  • Third-Person Person: As always, Doom speaks in this manner when he wants to get a point across.
  • Villain Takes an Interest: After seeing how the Remnantians dealt with the Frightful Four, he decides to keep an eye on them and see what they can do.

    Taskmaster

Tony Masters

  • Awesomeness by Analysis: As always, he can copy the fighting styles of anyone he has seen. As Nora painfully finds out, that means he can easily read her movements and knock her unconscious.
  • Cool Mask: His signature skull-faced mask, which he feels more comfortable with than by showing his true face.
  • Only in It for the Money: He's a mercenary first and foremost.
  • Worthy Opponent: He's actually impressed Ren managed to catch on to his abilities and says their fight is worthwhile.
  • You Remind Me of X: While he doesn't say it out loud, Ren realizes that Taskmaster's abilities are very much like Velvet Scarlatina.

    Venom

Eddie Brock

  • Composite Character: His appearance seems to be based on Tom Hardy's portrayal, whereas the symbiote is called "V252" as in Marvel's Spider-Man.
  • Fight Off the Kryptonite: Thanks to a previous encounter with Iron Man, the Symbiote can now withstand heat much better.
  • Power Copying: After being forced off of Ruby and reunited with Eddie, it uses Ruby's Semblance to escape.
  • The Symbiote: The trope namer and it manages to take control of Ruby, until the Vision removed it from her, allowing it to reunite with Eddie.

    Electro

Maxwell Dillon

  • Didn't See That Coming: He certainly didn't expect Nora could just absorb his electricity and hammer his daylights out.
  • Shock and Awe: His electrical powers.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Taskmaster merely used him as fodder to see Ren and Nora's fighting abilities.

    Abomination

Emil Blonsky

    The Leader

Samuel Sterns

    Kraven the Hunter

Sergei Kravinoff

  • Crazy-Prepared: He prepared a whole bunch of traps made specifically to capture Blake and Squirrel Girl to test them and see if he should capture them.
  • Hunting the Most Dangerous Game: Continues with his idea of hunting the animal totems of several animal-themed heroes.
  • I Cannot Self-Terminate: Suicide isn't an option for him, Spider-Man has to be the one.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: Captures Spider-Man, Spy-D, and Spider-Girl offscreen alongside several other animal-themed superbeings before capturing Ghost Spider.
  • Passing the Torch: Like in Hunted, he lets himself be killed while dressed as Spider-Man to fulfill his curse while letting his last cloned son become the newest Kraven the Hunter.
  • Unwanted Revival: Like in the comics, he was brought back from the dead against his will, and now he wants Spider-Man to kill him.
  • You Can't Fight Fate: He's convinced it is Spider-Man's fate to kill him in order to release him from his unwanted resurrection.

    Red Skull

Johann Schmidt

  • Arch-Enemy: Of Captain America, although the Avengers as a whole hate him as well.
  • Composite Character: His backstory is mostly based on the MCU, but him masquerading as the Defense Secretary comes from Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
  • The Ghost: Mentioned but not introduced yet.
  • Those Wacky Nazis: One of the most famous Nazi supervillains and the Remnantians are understandably horrified at the atrocities the Nazis committed.

    Squadron Supreme
  • Adaptational Villainy: Like in Assemble, the Squadron Supreme are villains, rather than well-intentioned, if extreme, heroes.
  • The Ghost: While mentioned, they haven't been seen in person yet.
  • Godzilla Threshold: Wizard doesn't like the idea of them walking free, but he needed a threat big enough to make all the Avengers mobilize to successfully infiltrate Avengers' Tower.

    The Wrecking Crew

Wrecker, Thunderball, Bulldozer, and Piledriver

  • Dumb Muscle: They are strong enough to face Thor, but they aren't very bright.
  • Underestimating Badassery: They thought Ghost Spider was harmless because of her street-level strength, only for her to defeat them in just ten seconds.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Without their magical crowbar, the Wrecking Crew loses their strength. Ghost Spider takes advantage of it to beat them in just 10 seconds.

    High Evolutionary

Herbert Wyndham

  • Evilutionary Biologist: Well known for his cloning experiments and turning animals into humanoid creatures.
  • The Ghost: Mentioned by Kraven but hasn't appeared yet.

    Vermin

Edward Whelan

  • Rat Men: Vermin was mutated into a humanoid rat.
  • Swarm of Rats: What's worse than a giant humanoid rat? A swarm of giant humanoid rats.
  • Zerg Rush: The Vermin clones attack in packs.

    Thanos

Thanos

  • The Dreaded: Alongside Kang, Thanos is easily the most powerful and feared enemy of not only the Avengers but also many other heroes as well.
  • The Ghost: Mentioned but hasn't appeared yet.
  • Worf Had the Flu: When you're so powerful yet you were defeated by Squirrel Girl, it's clear something happened.

    Erik Killmonger

N'Jadaka | Erik "Killmonger" Stevens

  • Better to Die than Be Killed: Rather than facing punishment for his crimes and dying in prison, he chose to stab himself and let himself bleed to death.
  • Clashing Cousins: Like in the movie, he challenged his cousin T'Challa for the throne of Wakanda, and while he won the first time, he was defeated the second time.
  • Posthumous Character: As far as T'Challa knows, Erik is dead.
  • The Revolution Will Not Be Civilized: Intended to use Wakanda's technology to arm oppressed groups around the world without caring for all the lives that would be lost in the struggle.

    Jack O'Lantern
  • Abnormal Ammo: Loves throwing exploding apples, itchy power and candy.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Sure, he's a wacko with a silly gimmick, but he's far from harmless and becomes an even greater threat when he comes across a Dreamstone.
  • Catchphrase: "Trick or treat!"
  • The Mentally Disturbed: Believing every day is Halloween doesn't speak well of your mental state.
  • Pumpkin Person: His flaming pumpkin helmet, which he never takes off.
  • Sinister Scythe: Wields a scythe that's on fire.
  • Took a Level in Badass: He was just a criminal with a costume and gimmicks until he received a Dreamstone, which made his desires a reality.

    Green Goblin

Norman Osborn

  • Abusive Parents: He manipulated Harry his entire life, and when Harry rejects his ideas for world domination, he tries to kill him.
  • Arch-Enemy: Of both Spider-Man and his own son Harry.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: Led Oscorp into several illegal endeavors, including using Mr. Hyde's serum to create his own improved version of the Goblin Formula. Weiss notes the similarities between him and her father Jacques.
  • Godhood Seeker: Intends to use the Hyde Serum to surpass his human nature and become the most powerful supervillain.
  • One-Winged Angel: When he uses his improved Goblin formula to fight Weiss and Harry.
  • The Password Is Always "Swordfish": Apparently he always uses Harry's birthday as a password for illegal things.
  • We Can Rule Together: Offered this to Harry, but he unsurprisingly refused.

    Loki

Loki Laufeyson

  • Arch-Enemy: Of both his adoptive brother Thor and the Avengers
  • For the Evulz: Most of his actions, if not trying to take over Asgard and the nine realms, are simply for his own amusement. Like turning Ruby, Blake, and Yang into pigs on the same day Asgards Hunters go out to kill a boar for a feast in Valhalla..
  • Master of Illusion: His main forte and for good reason.
  • Villain Team-Up: Teamed up with Amora and Skurge in breaking the seal of Bor's Sons to allow Surtur and his minions to cause chaos in the Nine Realms.

    Enchantress

Amora

  • The Three Faces of Eve: Befitting her name, she has seduced countless wizards and sorcerers to glean their secrets. She learned enough to become one of the most powerful sorceresses.

    Executioner

Skurge

A.I.M.

    M.O.D.O.K.

George Tarleton

  • Cephalothorax: His huge head that's bigger than the rest of his body is considered quite gross by the Remnantians.
  • Hypocrite: He claims that he wants to prevent another Stamford Connecticut from happening, but as Yang and Kate point out, saying that every word he used could describe himself, he's willing to kill thousands simply because they have superhuman abilities, and that even A.I.M.'s projects largely unrelated to that goal tend to spiral out of control and threaten innocent people.
  • Psychic Powers: Thanks to his huge brain, he can use telepathy, technopathy, and brainwashing if he wants to.
  • Puppet King: He thinks that he's still in charge of A.I.M., but Monica is really calling the shots, using him as a distraction for the heroes.
  • Starter Villain: First villain faced in the story by the Avengers.
  • That Man Is Dead: Refuses to answer to the name of George Tarleton, seeing his past self as weak and a failure.

    Scientist Supreme

Dr. Monica Rappaccini

  • Hidden Villain: No one on the side of the heroes really knows that she exists, M.O.D.O.K. being a Puppet King that she uses as a distraction for her own plans.
  • Morally Ambiguous Doctorate: She might be subdued about it, but as one of the leaders of A.I.M., she's amoral and completely unscrupulous.
  • Villain Team-Up: Dr. Doom contacts her to share some information concerning Ruby and she makes an alliance with Victor Kohl/Exile.

The Frightful Four

    Wizard

Bentley Wittman

  • Even Evil Has Standards: He actually doesn't like the idea of setting the Squadron Supreme free, seeing them as too dangerous and extreme, but he needed a threat that all the Avengers had to take care of for his infiltration to work.
  • You Could Have Used Your Powers for Good!: Ruby points this out to the Wizard during their fight to distract him, saying that he could have done some real good, but gave it up over his envy about Stark and Richards stealing his thunder.

    Trapster

Peter Petruski

    Dragon Man
  • All Animals Are Dogs: To the annoyance of Trapster, Dragon Man sniffs around as if it was a dog, despite being an android and a dragon.
  • Breath Weapon: Can breathe fire, although using it continuously will drain his fuel.
  • Non-Malicious Monster: Dragon Man doesn't have much of a will of his own, which is why he's used as muscle by the Frightful Four.

    Sandman

William Baker

  • Elemental Shapeshifter: As always, he can turn his entire body into sand.
  • Logical Weakness: Getting wet prevents him from remaining in solid form, and Trapster's glue stops him from moving.

The Brotherhood of Mutants

    Magneto

Max Eisenhardt

  • Archnemesis Dad: His children Pietro and Wanda have long since distanced themselves from his goals.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Not being used to facing other magnetic-users, Pyrrha almost knocked him out by pressing the metal of his armor against his chest. She would have defeated him had Mystique not arrived and knocked Pyrrha out.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: He lets Victor know very clearly that they won't take Blake hostage, knowing Victor's habits and that it will only make the Avengers go after them even harder.
  • Magnetism Manipulation: He's the Master of Magnetism for a reason.
  • Rogues' Gallery Transplant: He's well known to be a foe of the X-Men, but ends up fighting Pyrrha, who is working with the Avengers. He even expresses surprise the Avengers answered the breakout rather than the X-Men.

    Mystique

Raven Darkholme

  • The Dragon: She's Magneto's right-hand woman.
  • Improvised Weapon: Uses Magneto's helmet to hit Pyrrha in the back of her head, but when that doesn't work, she simply strangles her into unconsciousness.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: As always, she can turn into anyone she has seen and copy their voices without a problem.

    Sabretooth

Victor Creed

  • Arch-Enemy: Of Wolverine. He even thinks about taking Blake as a prize if it means attracting the attention of his nemesis.
  • The Brute: Mostly provides muscle for Magneto. For the record, Victor is actually quite smart but prefers this role.
  • I Have You Now, My Pretty: Almost takes an unconscious Blake as a prize, until Magneto orders him to leave her or he will feel just like Wolverine did when he ripped out his adamantium skeleton.

Savage Six

    Vulture

Adrian Toomes

  • Composite Character: Takes the appearance of Spider-Man (PS4) while keeping his comic personality.
  • Feather Flechettes: His wings are incredibly sharp, and taking him out of the sky becomes a priority for both the Secret Warriors and RWY and JNPR in order to defeat the Savage Six.
  • Flight: The only member of the Savage Six who can fly.

    Scorpion

MacDonald "Mac" Gargan

  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Like an actual scorpion, Gargan has a mechanical tail that injects poison.
  • Cyborg: Allowed himself to be modified and given a scorpion themed armor in order to hunt down Spider-Man.
  • Scary Scorpions: He's the Scorpion, and he's one of the more dangerous villains of Spider-Man if a bit dimwitted.

    Tarantula

Anton Miguel Rodriquez

  • Badass Normal: Unlike the rest of the Six, Rodriquez doesn't have any powers or fancy tech, only skill as a martial artist and drugged weapons.
  • Poisoned Weapons: His blades have drugs that can knock out opponents.

    Rhino

Alexei Sytsevich

  • The Brute: The least intelligent member of the Six and the one with the highest brute strength, being capable of fighting the Hulk to a standstill if he wanted to.
  • Composite Character: His appearance seems based on the Spider-Man (PS4) design, being a thug augmented and given a mechanical rhino suit.
  • Rhino Rampage: A man in a rhino suit with one mean charge.

    King Cobra

Piet Voorhees

  • Generation Xerox: Became a villain much like his uncle Klaus Voorhees, the first King Cobra.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: Took the moniker of the King Cobra and he's a villain.
  • Super-Strength: The process that gave him powers allowed him to keep Yang on hold for most of their fight.

    Stegron the Dinosaur Man

Dr. Vincent Stegron

Legion of the Unliving

    Dracula

Vlad Dracula

  • The Chessmaster: Easily manipulated the Russian government with his false civil war in order to obtain the area of Chernobyl to use the land to create his vampire kingdom, with the heroes none the wiser.
  • The Dreaded: He's one of the most dangerous vampires in the world, and the Remnantians aren't enthusiastic at the prospect of facing him.
  • Villain Takes an Interest: After Ruby reflexively uses her Silver Eyes to turn the Shadow Colonel to stone, he takes a personal interest in her.

    Shadow Colonel

Xarus

  • Brainwashed and Crazy: He can Mesmerize anyone that stares him in the eye into serving him as long as they don't have reflective surfaces, like shades or goggles, or have a Psychic Block Defense.
  • Evil Is Not a Toy: Once he finds out about the Grimm, he immediately thinks that he has a chance of using them as a weapon without it biting him in the butt if/when he can find Remnant. Ruby rightly calls him a fool for believing that he can control the Grimm.
  • Eye Beams: He can shoot eye-beams, something Ruby didn't expect.
  • Fight Off the Kryptonite: Had a pendant manufactured to deflect the harming part of UV light, allowing him to walk in daylight and survive attacks that would have killed any other vampire.
  • Hellhound: His partner is a hellhound named Sarge.
  • Taken for Granite: Ruby inadvertently turns him to stone with her Silver Eyes.

    Baroness Blood

Lily Cromwell

    Rat Bomber
  • The Beastmaster: Can communicate and control rats. This saved him from being turned to stone too since one of his rats warned him.
  • Horrifying the Horror: He's just as freaked out as the other members of the Legion of the Unliving at the sight of Xarus turned to stone by Ruby's Silver Eyes.
  • Mad Bomber: He's a vampire that uses rats as bomb carriers.
  • Swarm of Rats: One of the applications of his power is to send swarms of rats.

The Marauders

    Mister Sinister

Dr. Nathaniel Essex

  • Beard of Evil: Like in his most recent appearances, he has a goatee and is just as evil as always.
  • Berserk Button: Deadpool's actions against him makes the mad mercenary one to him. He's locked himself in sound chambers and still can't get the sound of Deadpool's voice out of his head.
  • Combo Platter Powers: Due to his decades of tampering with mutant genetics, he has lots of powers, like telekinesis, telepathy, molecular manipulation and healing.
  • Evilutionary Biologist: Obsessed with genetics and even thinks he can use his research to rebuild mutantkind on his own.
  • Send in the Clones: Whenever one of his clones or the Marauders are killed, he just makes another. Blake think he's just replacing them with copies.
  • That Man Is Dead: Doesn't like when Monica Rappaccini calls him by his original name.
  • Villain Team-Up: Agrees to cooperate with Monica Rappaccini in order to discover the mystery of the Remnantians.

    Arclight

Philippa Sontag

    Blockbuster

Michael Baer

  • The Brute: As always, he's the strongman among the Marauders.
  • Dumb Muscle: Not every bright and he actually stood there as Blake approached him because Arclight told him to stay put.
  • Neck Snap: A preferred move of his.

    Harpoon

Kodiak Noatak

  • Energy Weapon: His harpoons, which he can use to stun and even kill foes.

    Vertigo
  • Glass Cannon: As said so by Blake, her powers are useful to weaken foes but she's pretty weak and easy to beat if you can bypass it.

    Multiple Man

Jamie Madrox

  • Adaptational Villainy: As lampshaded by Deadpool, Multiple Man is actually a member of the X-Men, but here he works for Sinister.
  • Me's a Crowd: As always, any major physical contact creates a duplicate of himself.
