Mashin Hero Wataru: Doakudar's Army

The villains of the first series, they have taken over all seven floors of Soukaizan.

     First Floor
Doakudar's forces in the 1st floor of Soukaizan led by Cruising Tom.

Schwarvinegar

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/schwarvinegar.jpg
Voiced by: Shigezou Sasaoka
Mashin: Battle Gorilla (#01 & #02)

  • The Ahnold: His name is a play on the man's surname.
  • Fatal Flaw: His Mashin "Battle Gorilla" must reload its ammunition manually.

Thunder Blue

Voiced by: Masashi Ebara
Mashin: Hellicopter

  • The Fighting Narcissist: Will occassionally stop what he's doing to state how beautiful he is.
  • Throwing Your Sword Always Works: Subverted; despite his Mashin "Hellcopter" being capable of using its rotors as a Precision-Guided Boomerang, if it misses its target, Hellcopter loses its Flight capability, rendering its one advantage against grounded Mashins useless.
  • Vanity: The man can't go one second without looking at his reflection and admiring himself. He's even built a giant statue of himself situated in the center of the town he's conquered, and will airdrop signed photographs of his portrait for Wataru's party.

John Toncougar

Voiced by: Naoki Tatsuta
Mashin: Gepperun

  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Toncougar becomes easily distracted by a cockroach he couldn't kill earlier in the episode, leaving him wide open for Ryujinmaru's Finishing Move.
  • Big Fancy Castle: His stronghold is armed to the teeth with cannons and turrets.
  • Denied Food as Punishment: Inverted; he punishes the people of Kalakala Village by forcing them to eat food, turning them incredibly fat.
  • Freudian Excuse: As a child of Kalakala Village, John was fatter than the other children, who made fun of him. When he left and returned years later as one of Doakudar's minions, he made the villagers fat so he can return the favor and make fun of their obesity.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Not finishing a table of lavish food he provides makes him whip out a machine gun. Furthermore, if bugs land on the food, he'll try to zap them with lightning bolts from his fingertips; if that fails, a rocket launcher; if that fails, a nuclear strike.
  • More Dakka: John's Mashin, like his castle, has machine cannons and missile launchers outfitted across its chassis. Unfortunately, he's guilty of A-Team Firing.
  • Shock and Awe: Toncougar's castle generates a smog cloud that can call down lightning strikes at will; he conquered Kalakala Village by destroying their homes and the surrounding forest, forcing the villagers to flee for the nearby cave formations as shelter.

Cruising Tom

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cruising_tom.jpg
Voiced by: Yu Shimaka

  • Bad Boss: With Doakudar's Four Heavenly Kings threatening Tom with death for failing to stop Wataru's party, Tom unleashes his anger upon Schwarvinegar, Thunder Blue and John Toncougar with a battle axe.
  • Booby Trap: Tom's hideout is littered with Trap Doors, monsters summoned through a flute (which Wataru's party falsely presume is the MacGuffin they're looking for) and an army of robots that bars further entry unless they're beaten via Rock–Paper–Scissors.
  • Dastardly Whiplash: His facial appearance, to denote his Card-Carrying Villain status.

  • Punny Name: Their individual Mashins' names are puns on "body," "left," and "right," while Gattaida, is a pun on "gattai," meaning "combine." Likewise, the brothers' names themselves:
    • Zan Kokku for "zankoku," meaning "cruel."
    • Zan Gyakku for "zangyaku," meaning "brutal."
  • The Rival: All 3 of them have an antagonistic relationship with Don Goro, and they hope to defeat Wataru themselves in order to one-up him.
  • You Have Failed Me: Doakudar pulls this on them after they lose to Shibaraku, Genryusai, and Kurama. Notable in that they are first villains to outright be killed.

    Doakudar
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/doakudar.jpg
Voiced by: Shōzō Iizuka
The "Emperor of Evil" who conquered Soukaizan.
  • Abusive Dad: His You Have Outlived Your Usefulness towards Don Goro is also applied towards Toraoh, Doakutar's own son. Of course, with the reveal that Toraoh is actually the son of Soukaizan's queen, his actual status as a father is up in the air.
  • Bad Boss: Pulls a You Have Failed Me on the Zan Brothers and a You Have Outlived Your Usefulness on Don Goro.
  • Big Bad: He serves as the main antagonist of the first series. He also serves this role for the second series.
