Denizens of Soukaizan
Obaba Ayashibe
Voiced by: Hiroko Maruyama
A talkative old woman responsible for summoning Wataru to Soukaizan.
- Cool Old Lady: A very hammy and adorable old lady at that.
- Jaw Drop: The most prominent and defining of the entire cast, she can even do casual talks with her jaw dropped.
- Really 700 Years Old: Her age is estimated to be between 260-280 years old.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Ojiji's blue.
Ojiji Shinobibe
Voiced by: Ritsuo Sawa
Himiko’s pleasantly-calm grandpa and good old friend of Obaba.
- Idiot Hair: One sticking sure-firmly straight with it's own mini clouds flying around it.
- No Blood Ties: Ojiji is implied to be a foster parent for Genryusai, making Himiko his foster granddaughter.
- Really 700 Years Old: His age is estimated to be around 299 years old.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Obaba's red.
Genryusai Shinobibe
Voiced by: Kenichi Ogata
Mashin: Genjinmaru (Mystic God-maru) [W1, Main Pilot]
A small monkey-like being who is the actual operator of Genjinmaru, he is, in fact, Himiko's father.
Genryusai only accompanies Team Wataru through Wataru 1 and OVA: Shin. With only one flashback in Wataru 2.
- Forced Transformation: He was originally human, but turned into a monkey for some reason. He returns to his human from following Doakutar's defeat, then gets turned into a dog and back in Shin.
- Paper Master: Genryusai's preferred ninjitsu of choice. Himiko commented greatly on how her dad's truly the master of it.
- Verbal Tic: Tends to end his sentences with "-ura."
Seiryuhi
Voiced by: Kayoko Fujii
The Empress of Soukaizan.
- The High Queen: The wise, and beautiful example of female authority who is able to seal off the deadliest of evils; but who also has her limits.

Commonly called "The EX-men," these little blobs of intellects serves as the Exposition Greek Chorus directly towards the audience throughout Wataru 1, 2, and Seven Spirits.
- Breaking the Fourth Wall: Their primary job is to roll viewer screens to new scenes, accompanying with a polite "Ex-kyu-su~Mii~."
- Exposition Break: Whenever Wataru uses Status Buff items, or special weapons for the first time, the Ex-men will pop in to explain the gimmicks of those items so that the audience would understand.
- Eyes Always Shut: Red's prominent trait.
- Opaque Nerd Glasses: Blue is known for his nerdy look, and is usually the smartest of the three.

Parents of Wataru. Takeo is usually not seen due to being a working dad. Akiko on the other hand is a housewife, so she has more screen time to interact with her son; nagging more often than not.
Yumi

The cute-looking girl of Wataru's class. She's genuinely fond to be friends with Wataru.
Shun
Voiced by: Naoki Tatsuta
One of Wataru's classmates who likes Yumi, and wants to grab her attention away from Wataru as much as possible.
