Crossovers
  • The Boys: Real Justice: The Justice League generally does not find the Joker's antics funny. However, when he makes his Earth 7 debut, he airs out some of Homelander's dirty laundry by showing a video of his taste in milk. Most of the heroes (from both worlds) are either grossed out, stoic, or don't know what they're looking at. Guy Gardner, however, is laughing himself sick.
  • A Different Childhood: At one point in Megamind's childhood, he and Link were playing hide-and-seek. When Link couldn't find Megamind, B.O.B. told him that he was hiding in the "chute". While Megamind was actually hiding in the laundry chute, Link thought that B.O.B. meant the garbage chute. Thus, he dove headfirst into the garbage to find Megamind... only to end up covered in garbage. Even Monger thought it was hilarious.
  • A Divine (Romantic) Comedy: Eda and Raine apparently laughed themselves sick when they heard the conspiracy theory that Luz is their secret love child that was sent to be raised in the Human Realm.

  • During a Jedi Council meeting in I still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Obi-wan reads over Harry Potter's application to the Bounty Hunter's Guild and several Jedi have to suppress their laughter at his aliases such as "Lord Lemon Drop", "Agodden Bed", and "Foat Gucker". Even hearing that several people called him Harry just makes them think it was a set-up for yet another joke.
  • If Wishes Were Ponies: When the Mane 6, Harry, and the CMC meet Tom the bartender for the first time, the ponies are surprised because they've never met a bald man before. Pinkie decides to "help" by giving him an orange curly wig, white grease paint, and a big red false nose. While surprised at first (and earning laughter from all of his patrons and employees alike), Tom takes it in stride and thinks that having Harry and the "Atlanteans" eat in his inn will be good for business.
  • I'm Nobody: Luxord thinks that Xion calling Demyx "not all that dangerous" (in response to Luxord calling himself "the least threatening enemy they'll face" has him laughing even though he works with Demyx and warns them that appearances can be deceiving.
  • Infinity Train: Blossoming Trail: Amelia asks Atticus how his home of Corginia is doing after the last time they met and Atticus replies that they now host theatrical productions of his adventures. Amelia then asks if they recreate the time she "shot him in the face" and Atticus actually laughs.
  • Infinity Train: Seeker of Crocus: After the Mirage Army debacle is over in the Ninjala Car, Vaillant begins to call Chloe a "Demon Lord" (because she stopped the army via standing up to them and converted them into denizens via the powers of a cloak presumably containing the powers of a demon) and starts digging himself deep when he won't shut up. Chloe then laughs and loves the idea of being a Demon Lord so much, that it becomes her new nickname.
    • During the video conference with Den City residents, Amelia makes a very bad pun. Everyone groans at it. Except Specter who lets out the first joyful laugh in his life. He later remarks he has to remember Chloe calling her bully "Princess dumbass turned into an arrogant blowhard".

  • J-WITCH Series: Will and Jade admit this about being engulfed in the Monkey King's lava that turns out to be cherry gelatin, particularly because Cedric and Daolon Wong thought they could get rid of the heroes by using the Monkey King's spell.
  • The Last Seidr: Harry Potter, for obvious reasons, has no idea what STARK Industries is and believes that "STARK" is an acronym. As such, when he meets Tony and Bruce Banner in their lab, he asks what STARK stands for. Both men are floored by the fact that he doesn't know, but Tony is clearly amused when he introduces himself.
  • Lelouch of the Wings of Rebellion: Lelouch breaks into laughter when, after a lengthy and difficult investigation, the team discovers that the Black King's real name is Blake King.
  • Metal Gear: Green: When entering class, Ochako suppresses her laughter at seeing Bakugou tied up awkwardly and trying to sit. She and the rest of Class 1A burst out laughing or find it amusing that Akatani is the one who tied Bakugou up roughly a few minutes ago, and he still hasn't gotten out of them yet.
  • Mike Pines: Mike actually finds the stories that Stan comes up with to explain his appearance when using him as an attraction at the Mystery Shack to be very amusing.

  • The New Recruit: After Matt Garretty agrees to work with SHIELD, he hands over his video camera which contains footage of him, Andrew, and Steve learning about their powers. According to Coulson, Nick Fury thought some of the boys' antics in the videos were pretty funny (but he denies it whenever asked).

    • Sanakan's remark to Grishom as "a flabby old cunt" has the normally humourless Kyril trying his hardest to hide a smile.
    • In Chapter 6 of the remastered version, Vault calls Kyril out for his disrespect of him. Kyril retorts that as Vault's men cannot discipline themselves in the North, it would be good for them to have "a change of scenery", saying, "I hear the South is quite lovely this time of year..." Olga's internal narration indicates she begrudgingly finds the Hunter's answer to be funny, as much of a stone-cold bastard he is.
  • Peter Parker Needs A Hug: In "A Matter of Logistics", Spider-Man is taken to the Watch Tower and meets Superman. Most of his visit involves him talking a mile a minute while Superman basically gives him a flying piggyback ride. Batman barely manages to keep from smiling.

  • In Scrap Value, Xander is being interrogated/seduced by Black Widow when he remarks he knows exactly what will happen. His explanation not only earns a snort of laughter from Natasha but she's mortified he managed to make her break character.
Xander: You pretty much ask your questions, tease me mercilessly, and then once your questions are answered, Hawkeye beeps your comm and you make your excuses and go, leaving me to take a cold shower.
Black Widow: I think most men prefer to masturbate rather than take a cold shower.
Xander: I never said I wasn't going to, it's just easier to clean up if I'm in the shower to begin with.
Black Widow: Then why a cold shower?
    Xander: I like a challenge.
  • In Sephiroth Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Sephiroth!Harry is given detention for "accusing the Undersecretary of subverting the Ministry". Given Umbridge's actual agenda, McGonagall barely restrains herself until Sephiroth!Harry leaves the room, then bursts into hysterical laughter.

  • The Unexpected Rookie: While the Autobots are staying in Radiator Springs, Mater introduces Sunstreaker and Sideswipe to tractor-tipping. Their adventure leads to Frank chasing the pranksters all the way back to town (where he's only stopped by the Dinobots showing up and "tractor-tipping" Frank.) Prowl of all 'Bots finds it hilarious, laughing himself absolutely sick.
  • What the Cat Dragged In: Clint decides that Ladybug riding Peacemonger like a bucking bronco is this, especially when he realizes that he finally has a joke that would embarrass Tony "What-Is-This-Shame-Business" Stark.
  • In With Pearl and Ruby Glowing, Kristoff stole a reindeer from a petting zoo and was arrested for it, but as shown in the side story "The Police's Victims", the Dirty Cops that usually rape detainees don't hurt him because they find what he did to be more entertaining.
  • In the Wonderfalls/Buffy the Vampire Slayer crossover Wonders Never Cease, Ethan Rayne manages to get himself torn to Ludicrous Gibs by a trickster deity. Xander calls it;
Xander: So old Ethan got in over his head, then tried to get someone else to pay the bill, but things didn't work out for him. Yeah, that's him all over.
    Dawn: (snicker)
Jaye: EXCUSE ME! This isn't funny! Some wackjob tried to kill us! And then this unholy monster barged in and... (giggle) Him all over... I just got that.

    • In Three Strikes, during the operation to take Farbanti, Trigger asks how long it will be until Cyclops squadron returns from their refueling and resupply. But he finds himself very amused at the fates of the spies his nation and the Lyran Commonwealth sent. The MIIO spy finds himself stranded in a Canopan Pleasure Circus. The LIC spy finds herself trapped on a resort planet famed for its luxurious spas. Both have been given an account to enjoy their fates to the fullest for one month... the time it would take for any transport to get where they are since EO has bought every seat in and out of said locations for that month. The fate of the Draconis Combine and Capellan Confederations' spies, however, dives straight into Pay Evil unto Evil territory.

Harry Potter

  • In The British Reformation Harry unintentionally insults the director of Gringotts East by asking if he and his entourage have taken the oath of secrecy Harry's project requires.
Ragnik: That was funny. It's rare that people speak to me in such a tone. Of course that might be because I am usually inside goblin territory and such actions would soon see you bereft of your head, but here that was truly funny.
  • Deconstructed regarding boggarts in Daphne Greengrass and the Boy Who Lived; Lupin notes that the Riddikulus charm can be used to make the boggart seem harmless if it's impossible to find a way to make its represented fear funny, such as Daphne's boggart taking the appearance of Harry telling her that he, Ron and Hermione could never be her friends and they actually want her to get killed, Daphne's Riddikulus just making the Harry-boggart cross its fingers to remind her that the real Harry would never say such cruel things.
  • In Chapter 17 of Dearest Hermione, Professor Sprout catches Neville and Susan kissing at the Yule Ball. Mostly harmless stuff, turning my robes pink, banishing my hair, things like that. I grew up not too dissimilarly from you. McGonagall: Mr. Potter, perhaps you would like to tell the great hall how exactly you got past the chess board without moving a single piece?
Harry: Well, since wizard chess sets are basically sentient, all it took was a little finesse, some well-timed insults, a pinch of acting and as you would say professor… sheer dumb luck. I wish the British Wizarding World had video cameras. I've never seen a literal one-sided fight before.

    Sirius: That was actually funny.

Skeeter may not lie, at least not to the point where I sue her sorry arse but she is going to be horrible, you know she hates you and will think of something evil. I could just see the headlines 'Real reason for Potter/Weasley split: Harry Potter in clandestine love affair with Death Eater'.

    • When Tarkin admitted he initially thought Vader's meditation chamber was some sort of specialized toilet for cyborgs, even Vader admitted it was pretty funny.

Super Smash Bros.

Teen Titans

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

  • When Donatello says "take me to your leader" through Metalhead in Heroes in the Shadows, April and Tang Shen laugh out loud.

Vampire: The Masquerade

  • In Radio Silence, the Nosferatu Wendy discovers the presence of a Lasombra in Prince Isaac's court while in a room absolutely filled to the brim with Lasombra aesthetic — including a mirror with a smiley face drawn on it. To taunt them, Wendy draws this exact same smiley face in the dust in one of the drawers while they're beginning to suspect that she's sneaking around. Later on, while Wendy eavesdrops on one of Kaiser's bugs, Prince Isaac is getting wound up about it. The Lasombra should be quite alarmed as at this point in time the Lasombra were the enemy of the Camarilla, but he's laughing so hard the recording is overlaid with static. Later, the Lasombra taunts her right back about it.

Warrior Cats

  • In the Better Bones AU, Mousewhisker is given the temporary dishonor title of Stupidhead by Bramblestar to show how, while no malice was intended, he didn't think through the implications of joining the Dark Forest at all. While it's meant to be a punishment and insult, Mousewhisker thinks it's funny and enjoys having the name.

World of Warcraft

  • After a long, introspective talk in Commiseration, Sylvanas thanks Thrall for all he's done for the Forsaken. Thrall decides to lighten the mood by asking if he can call her "Sylvie" now. The question is so ridiculous that both break down laughing after a moment.

Worm

  • A Darker Path: Taylor takes up the identity of Atropos, dark serial killer of Brockton Bay... and somehow still manages to get a laugh from the heroes on occasion, generally when she's making a shout-out.
  • That Others May Tinker: Hookwolf turns up as reinforcements for Alabaster, and he's fully prepared to put Taylor in the ground, but seeing Alabaster being held down and repeatedly nonlethally shot in the face amuses him enough that he gives Taylor a ten-second head start.
Hookwolf: While I want to get mad at you for disrespecting the Empire, I gotta admit, that’s a pretty funny sight to pull up to.

X-Men

  • In The SuperStarr Chronicles: Scott finds it actually amusing when Craig Starr is able to easily smack around the super-fast Pietro Maximoff.

Yu-Gi-Oh!

  • Between My Brother and Me: Mors Omnibus: Ayu Ayukawa decides to tear Himika Akaba apart because of how the Chairwoman spends more time and love on making her (heart-shaped) hair look pretty but does not show any love or compassion to her "adoptive" daughter Reira. The remark is so savage that Misty, Carly, Kiryu, and even Yusei can't help but laugh.
  • A Mother's Touch:
    • When Sylvio goes on a tangent that it's Reiji's idea to have Sylvio steal Yuya's Pendulum Cards, he explains that Reiji rewatched Yuya's duel against Sledgehammer as if binging a Korean drama. Yuzu has to resist snickering at that remark.
    • Sylvio whines and bleats that Yuya (Yuto) did attack him, revealing his battle scar — a tiny scratch on his shoulder. Yoko, who is a former sukeban, can't help but laugh at how this scar is the reason Reiji stupidly tried to buy out her husband's school.
  • In YuyaVision, José — the most stoic of the Wise Men of Yliaster, representing Apoira's despair of being one of the last few humans in existence — chuckles when Kiryu states that Yliaster HQ is "Hell".
