Examples of a character having an Abhorrent Admirer in fan works.

The following have their own pages:

Archie Comics
  • In Maybe the Last Archie Story, Cheryl Blossom is an absolutely gorgeous, manipulative asshole, and Archie would prefer that she stayed far away from him and left him alone instead of causing him trouble.

Arrowverse

  • To Hell and Back (Arrowverse): Two examples:
    • Ralph Dibny to Iris West. On one of Eddie and Iris' dates, it's commented that he's like that with every woman that catches his eye, making him also a Casanova Wannabe.
    • Carter Bowen to Kara.

Battlestar Galactica (2003)

  • Did I Make the Most of Loving You?:
    • Richard Adar is able to control himself for the most part, but when he and Roslin are alone together he often tries to instigate an affair even after Roslin affirms that she loves her husband and has no intention of cheating on William Adama.
    • It is revealed that Zarek had a twisted affection for Roslin, to the extent that he tries to force himself on her after Adama’s apparent death.

Bolt

  • The Bolt Chronicles: In "The Service Dog," Carmen exhibits an off-putting personality and expresses her attraction for Bolt in a forthright and crude manner. Bolt finds the chihuahua annoying and loathsome, likening her under his breath to a werewolf during full moon.

Cave Story

Crossovers

  • Amazing Fantasy has Himiko Toga develop a crush on Peter after seeing him beaten and bloody while he fought the Prowler. Given that her expression of love involves cutting him open and watching him bleed before drinking it so she can become him, he's understandably wary of her.
  • In Christian Weston Chandler in Survivor: Kujira-Jima, Neri Blake is as close to Chris-chan's ideal girlfriend as he could ever get: she loves to cook and clean, she's young, she's in a good financial position and she's uncontrollably attracted to him, but there's one dealbreaker: she's black. Not only does Chris not want a black girlfriend because he believes he is destined to father a fair-skinned daughter, but he's also so on-edge from his fear of the two black men in the game that Neri terrifies him.
  • A downplayed, platonic example happens in A Dovahkiin Spreads His Wings. Robert Baratheon is determined to gain Jon Snow/Whitewolf's affection because he reminds the king of his action-filled youth, but Jon is wary of Robert because he's aware that he's the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, and he knows that if Robert finds that out too, bad things will happen.
  • In Fate Ends, Harry learns his former student — something that already is very wrong in the wizard's book, since he thinks any Teacher/Student Romance is an abuse of trust and influence — wants him for a lover when said student tries to sexually assault him. That coupled with Luo Binghe's mental degradation courtesy of black magic and very skewed ideas of what Harry would actually want ensures the half-demon's utter failure in his courtship attempt.
  • In the second story of The Ghost Boy and the Combatants, B.B. Hood quickly becomes attracted to Danny Phantom upon meeting him, but he's repulsed by her Ax-Crazy personality to the point that getting kissed by her actually horrifies him. It says something that he's also been kissed and hit on by Lilith, a succubus, and Hsien-Ko, a Jiangshi, and he's far more receptive of and attracted to them than her.
  • In Harry and the Shipgirls, Draco Malfoy becomes extremely put out by the constant affections of Pansy Parkinson. The Triwizard Tourmament makes things more difficult with the addition of Kamilla Kozma, who is also determined to make Draco hers and has no interest in sharing.
  • Angel Dust in Hazbin Ghost immediately becomes attracted to Danny upon meeting him, but a combination of Angel Dust's strong come-ons and Danny being straight makes Danny extremely turned off and intent on avoiding Angel Dust as much as possible.
  • Heroes of the New World: Izuku gains an unwanted "lover" in Ulti, who tries to forcibly make Izuku her boyfriend and goes on a Yandere rampage when she believes Yamato stole him away from her.
  • The J-WITCH Series:
    • As per canon, Martin is this to Irma. Though it's played with, as Irma admits to Jade that he's not all bad, and when she goes out with him one time in order to distract him, she actually enjoys it (though she's not happy when he tries to use this as proof that they're an Official Couple).
    • Strikemaster Ice flirts with Will whenever they fight, much to her disgust.
  • Mandie's New Target: Upon seeing Danny Phantom in action, Princess Mandie immediately lusts for him and wants him to breed powerful warriors with her. While he admits she's beautiful, he comes to despise her for how violent, possessive, and power-hungry she is. When she kisses him without his consent, he is disgusted.
  • The Monkey D. Haru Series: Peeves falls in love with Perona after seeing her cause chaos with her Negative Hollows. Perona rejects his advances because he isn't "cute", not that it stops him.
  • Mineta is of a non-romantic variation of this for Izuku in Neither a Bird nor a Plane, it's Deku!. After Izuku sticks up for him during the Quirk Aprehension Test and later gives him some good advice, Mineta practically worships Izuku as a role model. Izuku likes that he's helping someone but would rather not get the slobbery hugs of snot and tears.
  • The Night Unfurls: Gender-inverted with Michelle Pantielle. He always attempts to hit on Maia any chance he gets, much to her displeasure. Chapter 5 of the original can attest to that, not that it stops him, though.
Michelle: Maia, I can help with that.
Maia: No, you can't. Seriously, just shut up. Just shut up! I am tired of hearing your voice, you fat fucking prick! I'm tired of your damn invitations, I'm tired of you trying to talk to me, I'm tired of your worthless existence!
Michelle: *reaches for Maia's hand* B-But, Maia-
Maia: *slaps Michelle's hand away* I said stop talking! And stop trying to hold my hand, you shit! Gods you can't even do that right!
  • Fangirls and fanboys in the Official Fanfiction University series are not necessarily unattractive but tend to have no grasp at all of personal space or no meaning no. Most of them are also underage if the OFU is in a continuum where that applies, or even if it doesn't — millennia-old elves really do not see the appeal of thirteen-year-old girls. Plus the sheer number of them tends to get wearing. "Fangirl Stampedes" are not uncommon.
  • A Phantom's Ghoul School Sweetheart: Danny Phantom catches the affections of two girls from Grimwood, much to his displeasure.
    • Phantasma, who spends most of the story pining over him, has trouble reading the room and misinterprets his growing apprehension around her. It doesn't help that she insists he's her boyfriend.
    • While she won't steal her friend's love, Sibella barely hides that she thinks Danny is cute and still acts extremely flirtatious around him. Danny is outright uncomfortable with a vampire having a crush on him too.
  • In Rising of the Sleeping Soldier, Myne tries several times to wrap Alucard around her finger with every seductive trick in the book. Since Alucard is not the type who is easily impressed and he can tell that she has ulterior motives, everything she does only serves to piss him off.
With her lips on the glass she made a show of turning her head and downing the entire glass in the most elegant way she thought possible. She faintly gasped as her shiny lips left the edge of the now empty glass. She looked at him with bedroom eyes, the candlelight bringing out the green in her eyes and the red blush on her face.
Trevor sloppily chugging through ale after ale was more appealing than whatever the hell this was.
  • A Starstruck, Phantasmic Romance: Thanks to his ghostly energy causing Tamaranians to be more emotional in his presence, the princesses of Tamaran from Teen Titans are this to Danny.
    • Starfire is this to him at first. He does think she's pretty and, to some extent, have feelings for her, but her aggressive affections cause him to be wary.
    • Blackfire is an even worse case. While Danny starts to lose his fear of Starfire due to her being a good person at heart, Blackfire's cruelty and lack of interest in his feelings disturbs him.
  • Invoked in Voyages of the Wild Sea Horse, when Shampoo is asked why she doesn't reciprocate Mousse's feelings. Her response is that Mousse, ironically, pursues her feelings in ways that only invoke her disgust: she resents that he has chosen to focus on beating up Ranma instead of trying to defeat her in a fight, she abhors his self-professed willingness to use even the most dishonorable tactics in pursuit of victory, she dislikes his refusal to respect her own wishes, and she's embarrassed by the obsequious way in which he fawns over her in hopes of swaying her opinion. The end result is that, even if she weren't in love with Ranma, Mousse would be the absolute last person she'd choose as a potential lover.
  • You Got HaruhiRolled!: Kuyou seems to be one of these to Fujiwara as of late.

Danny Phantom

  • Danny Phantom: Stranded:
    • Colette Bevier is a manipulative and unfeeling girl who takes what she wants. She originally flirted with Danny and stole a kiss from his lips to annoy Star, realizing she has feelings for him. However, his falling for her fast like boys do got her attention, deciding she genuinely wants him for a boyfriend and potential future husband. Even ignoring his feelings for Star, Danny finds Colette to be wholly unpleasant and wants nothing to do with her. Eventually, Danny develops an outright HATRED for her because she refuses to take no for an answer, her mistreatment of his girlfriend, her mistreating the rest of his friends, and the lengths that she will go to get him, such as once taking advantage of his amnesia in order to convince him that he was not only her boyfriend but also her fiancé and once trying to use her (temporary) ghost powers to THREATEN in him into a relationship with her. It is made clear that Danny's opinion of her could not get any lower, and he wants her out of his life to the point where he is willing to use physical action if he can get away with it.
    • As the admirer, Colette has her own unwanted suitors in Dash and Mikey. She finds Dash way too stupid and boorish even to consider dating, while Mikey is not as bad as Dash but is less attractive and even lower than him when it comes to her standards due to being a nerdy peasant. Ironically, Dash eventually loses his feelings for Colette when he sees how obsessed she is with Danny. At first, Dash is just jealous of the attention Colette is showing Danny, feeling that he is better because he is an A-lister, but then he becomes uncomfortable with how obsessive Colette is with Danny and what she's willing to do to get to him.
      • Ultimately, Dash decides to let go of his attraction to her. Hence, Dash even rejects going on a date with her because he will not date someone obsessed with another person in Golden, having to be bribed to help her, but even then, he goes back onto the deal. By Blackmailed, while initially tempted, he decided helping her it's not worth it no matter how much money he could get out of the deal.
    • Vlad originally acted generous to Maddie's sister, Alicia, as a means of having an ally to get her to dump Jack for him. His plan worked too well as Alicia became increasingly attracted to him, deciding she wants him. Vlad is not flattered, finding her unattractive and unappealing. The only reason he doesn't reject her outright, or use his powers on her, is to avoid getting in trouble with Maddie.
  • Danny Phantom VS The Paranormal: During "Vs The Kentucky Goblins", Danny meets Sally-May Hackford, daughter of a family feuding with his mother's cousins. Despite this, Sally-May is instantly smitten with him and mistakes an Accidental Kiss as a declaration of love. Although she's certainly pretty, even ignoring Danny is dating Sam at the time, Sally-May is far too clingy and overly affectionate for him. Although she never gets over her feelings and doesn't make a move after he and Sam call it quits, Danny still accepts Sally as a friend.
  • Resurrected Memories: Several are presented during the course of this story.
    • Dash Baxter develops a crush on Amberline solely for her good looks and is constantly harassing her for a date, much to Ember's immense annoyance. Dash isn't ugly and he is a popular quarterback but it's his ego, low I.Q, and lack of respect that repulses Ember to no end.
    • Paulina to Danny, not for her looks, but for her snobby and overbearing personality, as well as the fact that she pretty much has an Entitled to Have You attitude towards him.
    • A more comedic version would be Valerie’s stalker Nathan, an overweight geek who desperately wants to be the girl’s prom date.
    • A ghostly version would be the OC Rancor, a muscular mercenary ghost who hits on both Ember and Kitty, much to the two girls' disgust.

Digimon

  • Mistress Babamon from A Dragon in Shining Armour, the Academy Head of Xuanwumon University, is this to the Royal Knights. Her flirting was anything but subtle. And reciprocated or wanted.

Dungeons & Dragons

Harry Potter

  • Eden, by Obsessmuch: Hermione Granger, while enslaved by the Death Eaters, expresses genuine fear when Anton Dolohov and Lucius Malfoy, both Pureblood Supremacists old enough to be her father, show a growing attraction to her despite her being a teenage Muggle-born.

Invader Zim

  • Becoming a True Invader: The Dibship AI is completely obsessed with Tak, to her disgust. It in turn grows disgusted with the Heboadians' worship of it.
  • In Ruby Pair, Keef develops an obsessive crush on Tenn after meeting her. She's both disturbed by the obsession and disgusted by the concept in general.

Jackie Chan Adventures

Kill la Kill

  • Maiko in Natural Selection blatantly lusts after Houka's intelligence and cool demeanor, made more stark by the more physically inclined hot-heads that they are surrounded with. He wants nothing to do with her due to her naked power-lust and lack of morals in general.

The Legend of Zelda

  • Displaced (The Legend of Zelda): Kass' teacher was a poet who was in love with Princess Zelda, but she only had eyes for Link. Zelda, on the other hand, insists that she was not in love with Link back then (even though they're in a relationship now), the poet was just too annoying. Apparently his primary method of encouraging her was by writing annoyingly catchy songs about her many failings, which the castle staff would be humming for weeks. It got bad enough that the King took him aside and told him that if he didn't stop writing songs about Zelda, he was going to have to find a new job.
  • In From the Dust, Groose and Ralph serve as this for Zelda and Aryll respectively. It's not that either man is bad-looking or especially creepy, but both women are put off by their braggart natures and general inability to understand that they're being rejected. (That's not even going into how Zelda and Link are dating and Aryll was still hurting over dumping her kinda-sorta traitor boyfriend.)

Luca

The Matrix

  • In What If?, it’s unclear to what extent this applied to Cypher before he betrayed the rest of the crew, but after his treachery and subsequent ‘reprogramming’ of Trinity she only stops Neo from killing Lloyd in a later confrontation because Lloyd genuinely didn’t know what he’d done.

Miraculous Ladybug

  • Both Adam and Nicholas are this to Marinette in Pigtails. While not unattractive by any means (Marinette even describes Adam as quite handsome), their overly suave and pushy demeanor make her uncomfortable, especially with Nicholas, who has a hard time taking "No" for an answer.
  • Scarlet Lady: Thanks to her nasty, self-centered attitude and her tendencies towards clinginess, pretty much every character Chloé's shown some level of interest in (Adrien, Luka, and XY, though the last one's more dismissive than wary) reacts to her this way. She doesn't fair much better as Scarlet Lady, either; once Adrien learns that Paris' resident superhero is also an obsessive fan of his (not helped by the fact that she treats his alter-ego horribly), he's understandably horrified.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

  • The Flash Sentry Chronicles (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and My Little Pony: Equestria Girls): Lightning Blitz was this to Rarity when they first met. He flirted with her and asked her out but she was disgusted with him due to his bad attitude towards her friends and his terrible fashion sense. Subverted later when Rarity starts to warm up to him after he changes is ways and moves to Ponyville, slowly starting to return his feelings and forming a friendship with him.
  • Least Noticeable And Little Flappy: In this fanfic, Half-Equid Hybrid Claire "Least Noticeable" Pie, attracts unwanted attention from evil cultists who want to use her for nefarious and possibly-sexual purposes:
The very few Ponies who were attracted to her all seemed unwholesome to her emotion-sense; she feared they wanted her for immoral and perhaps apocalyptic purposes. They mostly slunk into town in long black cloaks and hissed at her in languages she did not want to understand of vile secrets involving creatures far less friendly than Paradise, asking her to perform favors for them which were entirely out of the question.
  • In The Power of the Equinox, Prince Blueblood is this to Princess Cadance. She can't stand his shallow attitude, and his constant, unwanted advances led her to once put a restraining order on him. He hasn't got the hint, even trying to talk Princess Celestia out of letting Cadance marry Shining Armor as the wedding ceremony is about to begin.
  • RainbowDoubleDash's Lunaverse: Bootheel, to pretty much everypony. Not because he's unattractive, but because he throws terrible innuendoes and come-ons at any mare with a pulse he spots (Princess Luna included). More so when he flirts with Trixie, who has no interest in sex of any kind.

Naruto

  • Destiny is a Hazy Thing: Karin to Kiba, at least at first. Now Karin is attracted to Kiba's chakra and this causes her to become depressed when not in his presence and think about how she needs him. Kiba is, naturally, unhappy about it because she practically lives in his personal bubble since, as she is now technically "owned" by the Inuzuka, Karin lives with him and Kiba's mom just took a pragmatic view of the situation and outright says that Karin is "his mate". He's uncomfortable with the situation because of things like waking up and finding himself being cuddled by her.
  • Naru-Hina Chronicles: Nanami wants Naruto so she can have strong kids with a powerful father and please her clan, and she will NOT take "No, I'm in a relationship with someone I deeply love" as an answer.

Neon Genesis Evangelion

  • Advice and Trust:
    • Chihiro Tanaka is this to Shinji. Beauty is not the issue, she is a beautiful girl, but she chases Shinji obsessively, even though Shinji has already said he is not interested, he very obviously likes another girl, and Chihiro is aware of that. In addition, Chihiro treats him like a prize to be won, and he hates that, and when she tries to flirt with him she disses Asuka and Rei, and he hates that.
    • Asuka had a horde of boys chasing her. Again, personal appearance was not the issue as they were, at worst, mostly plain-looking. The issue is she was a traumatized, heart-broken introvert with poor people skills, although she was good pretending otherwise, wanting to be left alone. She did not want to hook up with brats who claimed to care about her but only liked her for her looks and refused to take a "no" for an answer. They stopped when they tried to get rough and they found out that she punched harder than them.
    • In chapter 8 Shinji and Asuka argued about their unwanted admirers:
Shinji: Maybe that will finally get them to stop chasing me like I'm a prize to be won. [...] How come I'm the one with the pack after them? You were ten times as popular as I was, a week after you arrived, miss incredibly-hot-exotic-foreign-transfer-student. I know Touji and Kensuke were making crazy amounts of cash selling beauty shots of you almost right away. Why haven't I had to chase away a pack of boys drooling after you?
Asuka: Because I already had them properly terrified and respectful after I mashed the first two flat when they tried to ask me out the week I got here and refused to take 'no' for an answer, [...] Putting a couple of them on the ground with a few punches when they got rough taught the others to keep off. You're just too polite and sweet to girls to scare them off, my darling baka.

Persona

  • In Forewarned is Forearmed, Morgana certainly thinks this way about Shadow, the Dojima's new cat, who unfortunately is in heat when the Thieves pay a summer visit to Inaba. Morgana spends half the time hiding away from her.

Ratchet & Clank

  • Widget And Clank Lombax Bebop: Little Tony, Spanner, and Dallas are very much this to Widget, and- in Dallas' case- also to Juanita. It's clear through the narrative so far that Widget and Juanita don't reciprocate the feelings- if anything, Widget hates all of them (while Juanita just hates Dallas), and with good reason.

The Simpsons

A Song of Ice and Fire

  • Bequeathed from Pale Estates: King Robert Baratheon to Princess Lyarra Martell, much to the disgust of everyone, as Lyarra is less than half his age, married, and marked, meaning it's physically and mentally impossible for her to return his "affections", even if she wanted to. What makes it worse is that Robert's obsession with her clearly stems from the fact that she's an even more beautiful version of her aunt/mother Lyanna Stark, his deceased fiancee.

South Park

  • My Super Best Friend: Not only is Heidi standing her ground on not getting back together with Cartman, she also seems to have lost all her feelings for him as she has become completely repulsed by him and his repeated attempts to get back together with her.

Stargate SG-1

  • What You Already Know : Resolution makes it clear that Rodney McKay is one for Sam Carter, both due to his arrogance about his own abilities and his dismissive attitude towards Sam's new partner Daniel Jackson (although he becomes more humble even before he learns about Daniel’s new psychic abilities).

Steven Universe

  • We Can Be Heroes! (Steven Universe):
    • While trying to raise money to save her ship from a towing company in Krapton, Lapis finds herself faced with a creepy little Hopkoblin mobster who's constantly leering at her. She's a bit creeped out but otherwise puts up with him... until he begs to see her feet. Then she clobbers him.
    • Rafi of the Blackthorne Pirates is similarly creepy towards Lapis, and licks her during their fight on Elysia. When he makes a comment on how good she tastes, she shuts him up by grabbing him by the tongue and flinging him away with her water hands.

Supergirl

  • In Kara of Rokyn, Jara to Kara. Jara isn't ugly at all, but Kara isn’t interested in girls, let alone someone who spent months taunting her.

ThunderCats (2011)

  • The Evabon Saga: Brigid had two: Ekoto; the son of Piyamaradu, the Chieftain of Evabon; and his cousin Alaksandu. Ekoto eventually got over Brigid. The abhorrent part comes not from their appearance but rather their behaviour.

Total Drama

  • Monster Chronicles: In this series, Sierra is this trope to Cody in Voodoo's Disciple as in canon, but is also an unknowing one to Cedric who is disgusted with her and admits even if he was not asexual he would never go for someone like her and considers her psychotic. This is a large part of the reason she's the first Amazon Cedric gets voted off, along with the fact she pressed one of his Berserk Buttons.

Total Drama All-Stars

  • Total Drama All-Stars Rewrite: Ezekiel towards Anne Maria (though she shows some slight reciprocation when Ezekiel is restored to normal), as well as Chef towards DJ's momma in the four-parter.

The Witcher

  • The Accidental Warlord And His Pack:
    • Princess Agata is a Spoiled Brat who is only attempting to court Geralt because she wants the power of the position of being his wife and is unable to see that not everything is about her. Geralt is repulsed by her.
    • Duke Velen is a Dirty Old Man who regularly rapes and murders the young women and girls in Velen and is known at court to have beaten three wives to death. He was in talks to marry Milena because her father wanted the boost in prestige and power of marrying one of is daughters into the king's family and later Oliwia flees starving and with her feet bleeding to Kaer Morhen to escape being married to him.

X-Men

  • In X-Men: The Early Years, Scott Summers is chased by many girls he really, really dislikes.
Hank: So what did the lovely Miss Hanson do?
Scott: Besides try to kiss me and chase me around a table in front of everyone? She started singing, 'Take Another Little Piece of My Heart' — out of tune might I add — in the middle of Harry's, in front of everyone. I dropped the money for the pizzas on the counter and ran. I think I left Harry a really big tip. I have decided I'm never leaving the house again ever. What else can I do? I made it very clear that I'd rather dump gasoline over my head and set myself on fire than go out with her. How much more blunt do I have to be before she gets the idea?

Yu-Gi-Oh!

  • The Judgement of the World (5Ds): Judai is a non-romantic example towards Aki. Because he can see Duel Spirits but can't materialize them in the real world, he's obsessed with the fact that Aki can do both. Aki doesn't appreciate the attention at all, as she's still getting used to her powers and recovering from years of trauma due to them. It certainly doesn't help that Aki is friends with Asuka, who has a crush on Judai despite him ignoring her most of the time.
