I feel that the tropes should be split into their own pages.
Something.I really want to watch this show, but Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchy Roll only have it subtitled, and I can't focus on the action and the subtitles at the same time because of my low vision. I also tried Adult Swim, but they're missing episodes. Where can I watch the English dub legally?
Edited by RetroRyan7926 Hide / Show RepliesWhat's our stance on Ryuko and Mako being an Official Couple? While I do understand Rule Of Cautious Editing Judgement, especially with a subject that has spawned so many arguments, I feel like it's kind of lying to say there's ambiguity to the matter. I won't go changing anything to reflect this unless I get a green light to do so, but Mako/Gamagoori is pretty clearly one-sided on the latter's part and Ryuko and Mako did end up dating. I don't want to start arguments, but I feel that we should be true to canon.
Contribute. Or else. Hide / Show RepliesWe definitively can stay with the canon version only.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSo Ryuko/Mako, then? I want to make sure we're clear before doing anything. Last thing I want to do is start a flame war.
Edited by 72.199.149.55 Contribute. Or else. The scriptwriter (as well as producer, character designer and seiyuu for Ryuko and Satsuki) was at Anime Expo 2014. Word of God is that there is no romance, and therefore no Official Couples, in Kill La Kill.
Edited by 207.178.204.152That's cool that they did that. Not every anime needs the main hero being in a romantic relationship.
In regards to Inumuta and Nonon. Would it be viable to add "Ship Tease" or "Belligerent Sexual Tension" in regards to the two of them? Either on the main page or on their character sheets?
Added a somewhat-reference, mostly actual advice regarding the series in the tropes main page. i felt the series has a high number of spoilers all of the friggin' place, and so with it being a spiritual sucessor and all, I felt the same warning on that page so go in place on this one.
Can we remove the Crapsack World tab? Various major world cities were seen in the last episode and they looked like their real counterparts. Or does it refer only to Honnouji?
Can I add Creator Provincialism to the main trope page? The rest of the world outside Japan is never seen and barely ever mentioned at all.
Hide / Show RepliesIt still is an American school in Japan. The latest episode mentioned in passing India and China, but they're still unseen, and if Ragyo just said "The world is completely controlled by us" and nothing more, it would have changed nothing. Like I said, the rest of the world isn't at all important.
Do wait with that until the series ends, please. We are fairly close to that point and then we will know whether the trope truly applies.
I went ahead and moved the confirmed WM Gs to their own folder.
Edited by 98.219.121.217 Hide / Show RepliesDoes Takarada's use of a crab (kani) tank count as another money (kane) pun?
Hide / Show RepliesNo. In Japan, unless it uses kanji with the same reading, or two kanji which look very similar, it is not a pun. In this case it is neither, even though it does sound like it to us.
So are we going with 'Kamui' or 'Godrobe'? What's the deal here?
Hide / Show RepliesSo most prefer it untranslated I guess, with some completely nonexaustive research done.
Not too sure if it would count as a stealth pun or a visual pun, but the students in the Kobe school using Kobe beef as a meat shield of sorts in episode 14 definitely seems punny to me
Hide / Show RepliesIt's not a pun. It's straight-up regional stereotyping. Same as how they have a lot of foreign support because they're a cosmopolitan port city.
What's precedent ever done for us?It might, though it's unlikely, be a joke aimed at Naruto. One character there can use a technique called Nikusensha which roughly translates to Meat Tank.
Given the events of episode 13, it's probably time for a Tearjerker page.
Judo is my waifu Hide / Show RepliesTo start one, just go edit this page.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I want to add a new entry for the Aspect Ratio shift during flashback scenes (they all go 4:3, aside from taking on a sepia tone), however I don't know exactly which trope changes like that would fall under. Any ideas?
Hide / Show RepliesFlashback Effects, Monochrome Past, and Retraux Flashback. Take your pick.
None of these mention aspect ratio specifically, but it could be a factor in the first and third.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.
Hey, so with Daisuki no longer being a thing, how do we go about editing the page to account for it?
