openWeird travel game? Videogame
I have a vivid memory of playing a PC game where you walk around on a flat monochrome map trying to do something. Once you achieve that, you could board a train or flight to get to another map. You also had an energy meter where if it ran out, you'd fall asleep for a while to restore it. It could also change from day and night. You could play as either a male or a female, who were also monochrome like the map. The CD had a monochrome globe on it as well. I played this when I was about 5-7 (2005-2007). I don't remember what language it was in because I didn't really know how to read when I played it.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Or was this just some weird dream I remember very vividly?
openGame about decisions in nuclear apocalypse Videogame
I remember reading about a game on here. I think it was mainly a visual novel. You play as a female and you have to find shelter before a nuclear bomb falls? There were lots of decisions to make and the game will remember if you've played it before and alter events.
openTactics based game between humans and skeletons Videogame
Hey all!
My friend and I are looking for an old game we played together in elementary school. It was a tactics-based where you would deploy your units near a building of importance. I can't remember if it was a church or a castle, but it was definitely something of the sort.
These units were often assigned into companies, or squads - or, in the case of the 'superman' as we called him (he wore a red cape, don't judge us!), all on his lonesome. You could deploy archers, swordsmen, and the 'superman', whom I now understand to be a Wizard of some kind; he created fireballs/meteors. - I believe there was cavalry, and a commander, too, but don't quote me on that.
Anyway, after having placed our units, the skeletons would spawn. These skeletons also moved in groups like your own units. They had units that mirrored our own; archers, footsoldiers, and a skeletal wizard, etc.
During the battle, little portraits would come up of the units - depicting them shouting orders, like "Open fire!", the skeletal mage saying something about "You're surrounded", or maybe it was "close around them" - we really didn't have a good enough grasp of english to understand back then. It would also depict them when an entire unit was wiped out, or when they were fleeing in surrender.
The Game was among the many demos on a cereal-box promotion disk (I seem to recall it being a small disc). And we cannot for the life of us remember what it was called. We do know that we played it roughly 15 years ago, as we did not have that good an understanding of the english language and that was around the time we began to have english in elementary school. (We thought 'Open fire!' meant that there was a literal open fire burning somewhere. We never found one and it puzzled me for years afterward.) I also believe there was a demo of Descent amongst the other games on the disk, as we played that too, and I firmly remember it only having three levels.
Edited by Theharboresolved Mobile game about trying to connect living jelly(?) Videogame
I remember playing this one mobile game about trying to connect what I think was a bunch of square living jellies? It started on just a table and after each chapter it would get larger and larger in scale. I remember that on what I think was the 2nd to last chapter they added a gimmick that let you clone the jelly.
openWeird game, need help Videogame
So, I'm looking for this one mobile game that I used to play a lot when I was little. Basically, it was a game where you moved into a shoddy, run-down house and a cute little ghost guy helped you renovate it and help your family flourish. You collected coins and purple gems. The art style was lineless and everyone had Black Bead Eyes, if I recall correctly. I remember soap operas being a thing on the old TV. It connected to Facebook, like a lot of the odd social games I played at the time. I have a pretty vivid memory of it, but I cannot for the life of me find it on the app store nowadays. Somebody help me?
resolved Sad video game music Videogame
What's the background music in this part of Schaffrillas Productions's Steven Spielberg movie ranking? I know I've heard it in some game before, most likely an SNES JRPG.
openUnidentified RPG Maker game Videogame
The Ludd Was Right trope page contains the following video game example. It's for some game made in RPG Maker, but without any title given. Can someone identify what game this is?
"RPG Maker: Appears as a possible outcome in a certain game. While all aspects of society become automatized, this makes the majority of the population "superfluous" and without employment (everyone except the owners of the machines, presumably, and even those are hinted to have been "terminated" by their automatons at some point). The masses of former workers and employees are forced to re-create a new parallel society on a much more primitive technological level, contending for resources with the machines. Depending on the actions of the player, the machines could either be convinced to provide their production to humanity for free (which is the "good" ending), or else, they can be convinced that their existence is no longer "required", as their entire point was to perfect the efficient production for consumption and in their own perfection they have defeated their own purpose as nobody benefits from their production. This will convince the machines to shut down (the "bad ending"), allowing humanity (as is implied in the ending) to rebuild on the remnants of the terminated machine civilization and eventually re-create a primitive society."
openSome handheld RPG Videogame
I remember this being either a DS or PSP game. My knowledge of it is incredibly limited. I remember there’s being 4 party members and a lot of banter between cast members, and I don’t think any one member was a designated PC. There was an area populated by lion people and an area where any NPC that spoke to the party turned into snakes. I also remember there being a spell that took control of one of your party members, since there was an animation of them getting down on their knees and bowing. I remember the art style being a bit ugly and cartoony. Any ideas?
openOnline Flash game Videogame
Adventure game with a tone that stood out compared to others in the vicinity. Took place (at least as far as I got) on a boat in a river. Someone else gets hit with a blowdart from an unseen source and...
Could only get a few minutes in before I was stuck between the crewman I was trying to save having disappeared (but in a way that was clearly part of the game) and the heroine saying enigmatically, "I forgot something," as if I was that close to moving forward.
Seemed ambitious (maybe to the point of "is this actually going to tell a full story"). If it tied into anything I don't recall it.
Edited by Caswinopena magical bakery game Videogame
so ur this magical girl with a long blonde hair and purple dress. Strongly reminds me of rapunzel, but the game is old af... like it's back when I am in elementary (I am not in college). So the magical girl is using her magic to run a bakery, and you sell em. There's a lot of magical properties, with colors of purple. The game is really simple, it's really similar with the usual bakery flash game but with beautiful colors of purple, and magic.
openGBA Game Videogame
It's been a long time, and I don't remember the title, or much of the game play, it was maybe 2008-2012 that I played it.
You could choose between a girl and a guy, and you follow their separate stories until they run into each other and you have them as party members.
The guys backstory is that he was fighting in an empire colosseum with his friend, and in the escape his friend is injured/killed and the guy falls off a waterfall. I don't remember the girls backstory.
There is a day night cycle, and it has to be night for you to get to what I belie is the first game boss where it's a vampire after the girl? I'm not sure.
Thank you in advance!
openScuba Videogame
A diving/mining Flash game, similar to Video Game/Minecraft but 2D. It had a 3x3 crafting grid and items would stack up to 64, just like Minecraft. Your goal was to craft a new engine for your crashed ship. I also remember it being possible to craft anything out of dirt if you had enough of it.
I remember it being titled "Scuba", but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I need a link.
openSpace sim/shooter where a character says "Will it ever end" Videogame
So I have a memory a game (pretty sure it's a space sim) where at point you face a seemingly endless onslaught of enemies, and one character says "Will it ever end" I thought for sure it was something Slippy said in Star Fox 64 but I have played it numerous times since and its not there. I am thinking it may be Starsiege but I don't have the game anymore to check.
openObscure RPG Maker game featuring playing card themed characters wearing white masks Videogame
I think I once saw a gameplay of it on Youtube, all I can remember was one of lines of the game was "Hello Ace" and a character who got his name mispronounced as "laundry"
Sadly I can't find it on RPG Maker wiki
Edited by FredericaopenGame with an intro where a dinosaur kills someone Videogame
I'm posting this on behalf of a friend. Here is what he said:
"It was a very simple memory really, it's a friend I used to visit in the 90s, I'm fairly sure this was on the N64 though I have looked into other consoles of the time since. He was showing the games he had and he had one in particular that his parents didn't let him play until he was older, I assume he got it on like a thrift sale and they didn't check, but then later when he booted it up and they saw him they figured he couldn't play it yet
Anyways
I was so curious and I asked him to boot it up anyways because I wanted to see, he was reluctant at first because he said that it scared him on top of his parents not letting him playing it, but I eventually convinced him to just let me peek, he didn't have to see
He turned it on, it may have gone through the usual company logo or whatever. What I remember next was some sorta dark room, looked kinda like a damp cave
It was not very well illuminated, kinda poor textures that seem a lot like something from PS 1 or N64 age
And the camera was on one of the corners of the room, facing against one of the walls
You could see the shadow of what looked like some sorta monster, but it really looked like a dinosaur and what I believe was a person
And the camera was just panning around the room, though you couldnt really see the person. It showed the wall shadows a bit and then it looked like the "dinosaur" suddenly attacked the person while he screamed
I watched that a bit and then he shut off the console suddenly being all like "See? I told you it was too scary" and I just kinda nodded and agreed even though I didn't think it was THAT violent, just a bit disturbing
There may have been some blood. Then we went on to eat some food or whatever lol"
He said he thought for sure it was Turok, but he can't find the intro anywhere. Since then, he said he's looked up the intros for tons of games from the n64, PS 1 and other but can't find it. He said he thinks it might have been a dream, but that it's so vivid he could recreate it on a 3d program if given the chance.
openDog themed flash game site? Videogame
I used to play on a website that had a dog themed mascot I think. On each side of the sceeen when you visited it there was a nature-themed pattern or photo like leaves or rocks and the photo changed every time you refreshed. Some of the games were fetch (where you could pick a bone, ball, toy, frisbee, etc) to throw to a dog who would run after it. Another one was a mining or ancient Egypt game where you had to look around in the dark for gems or the exit. There was also a postcard or birthday card maker where you could pick a background and stickers with different themes.
openCancelled Alien Video Game Videogame
I remember watching a youtube video about this really interesting looking, but unfinished, video game about taking care of a lost alien woman. I think the game was being shown off on a smaller channel, just due to how obscure the game was, but it also could have been one of those ‘Internet Mysteries’ channel like Nexpo.
It was a real game, not an arg. Graphics looked like they could have been from the early 2010’s, but they were also unfinished. The alien woman had a long neck, and was bald. She was naive about the ways of the world and you had to look after her. I think it was made by the guys who made Heavy Rain? It had that sort of mechanic where you can influence the alien to be nice or mean depending on what you gave her. The video showed you giving her a bar of chocolate. You also had to hide from Area 51 (or some government agency) squad because they wanted to recapture your alien friend.
openDimly recall this one horror game on TVTropes Videogame
I don't recall the specifics, but I believe that there were various areas with different themes and enemies, and the enemies might've had different appearances depending on something or other (my memories of this are very dim). I found it on TV Tropes and haven't been able to find it again, but does anyone have an idea of what it could be?
openNo Title Videogame
I had a children's game about 15 years ago. I can't remember the exact OS, but it was windows and couldn't have been newer than XP. I had two installments of this 'franchise'. It was a point and click game, but each screen was another 'scene', so you could only move forward.
Each installment started with a brother and sister with their grandfather. They were anthropomorphic, and were either rabbits or mice. One installment started with them making pasta sauce in a kitchen, and another with them eating ice cream on a park bench. The grandfather would then start telling a story.
The first story was about a princess who had no interest in princessly things, much to the dismay of her father (I remember there was a scene in a garden where they sang, and her father said "Why don't you join the other girls? They're putting on a play!"). At one point she asks her father to learn to use a sword, and possibly a violin? (in this scene they were watching people make wine, which her father offered to teach her. At the prospect of learning swordplay, her father said something about a sewing needle instead). She goes on an adventure, which I think was to rescue a prince? I remember she encountered a chubby cartoony dragon with two heads and bib. At the end she gets married and she and her husband go off on an adventure on a magic carpet.
The second story was of a boy. It started with him and his family in their house, and the mother was making pies. She placed a pie on an open windowsill to cool, and a witch came and ate the pie. She then insisted on staying in the house, eating all the pies she wanted unless they told her a story she'd never heard before, which was far easier said than done. So the boy went on a journey to find such a story. I remember there was one part where he slept under a tree, which turned out to be home to fairies. Eventually he returns home and tell the story of his adventures to the witch, who promptly leaves.
I can't remember many details other than that, but I'd love to find this game, cause it seems pretty nice, from what I remember.

A game we played on the old Apple computers in elementary school. This was prior to the 2001-2002 school year, when those computers were replaced with iMacs. You played as a Sherlock Holmes expy (deerstalker, pipe, etc.) wandering around an old house. If you talked to an NPC, they'd ask you a math problem. Solve it, you got a clue to solve the murder (I think). The graphics were 2D cartoons, but rather well-done. Does anyone know the title? It might have been made by The Learning Company, but I'm not certain.
