[SOLVED] Animated film about a girl whose ears were pulled by her grandmother Western Animation
When I was about 4 years old, my father would take me to the library, where they showed short films in the auditorium. I vaguely recall one rather bizzare cartoon about a girl whose grandmother constantly pulled her ears until they stretched and were big. This girl then ran away to the woods, where she sang to the animals. I don't remember how it all ended, only that the grandmother was missing her at some point. What could this have been? This was likely a European fairy tale of some kind (I recall the library also showing episodes of "David the Gnome").
Edited by errachtYA book series with black and gold cover, about a trial/tournament? Literature
i remember seeing this book back in 2015/2016. the book was a gold foil hardcover with black and white text. i don't remember the description but the book seemed to be about a tournament or contest of some kind and there was a central number, i think it was 13? the book also had a sequel with a red foil hardcover and silver text. this is all i remember unfortunately.
Redhead actress from smartphone commercial
I remember a commercial for a smartphone from several years ago and I'm curious about an actress (a cute redhead) who appeared in it. Unfortunately, I don't remember if it was for the carrier or the phone itself.
She plays a woman who's sitting in a car with her boyfriend (named Adam) looking over their smartphone and she quizzes him about her family before she introduces him to them. ("This is the aunt who was on the game show." "But don't bring that up.") The last relative they look at is the girl's father, a retired police officer. They then go to meet the parents and the father frisks him.
Does this ring any bells?
Anthology Horror TV Show Live Action TV
I saw that show as a child around 1992-1993 but it could be from the late 80s. It started in a creepy dark mansion. The host was sitting in a dark room close to a fireplace drinking red wine. It was an old man with long thin white hair (bald on top) a long nose and long yellow nails. I remember a plate of broccoli on a table nearby (?) and maybe a dog lying next to the man. There were two stories in the episode and it cut back to the host in between stories. I only saw one episode. As a child I found it really scary but in retrospect it was probably just campy. What I remember from the stories: 1) A man can never be mean or can never lie or something terrible will happen. He has a crush on a woman at work and he asks her out but things don't work out. I vaguely remember that it ended in a plot twist where the woman couldn't be mean or lie either. One of them ends up exploding. 2) Something about an evil cabbage patch kid doll (a very common trope, so not super useful). I've looked up horror anthology shows but none really match my memories, especially regarding the host.
Old sort of space w/ macaroni and cheese commercial?
Iirc it sold macaroni and cheese. There was this green alien in a space suit on Mars or something and there was this catchy classic tune playing over with lyrics made specifically for the commercial.
Movie about giving up the rat race Film
I posted this a while back, but there were no suggestions, so I thought I'd try again. Can anyone remember this?
There was this comedy-drama movie I saw years ago, made in the seventies or eighties I think, about a yuppie who decided to take his family out to a house in the Pacific Northwest and live a survivalist lifestyle there.
I remember there was an teen daughter who got grossed out by Gorp as survival food. That they got strapped for cash and decided to live off the gorp, but they caught one of their more extreme survivalist neighbors trying to steal their gorp. That there was a huge rainstorm and that neighbor's house washed away down the river.
I have no idea what the movie's title was though. Does anyone recognise it?
A show called "the mandoran ape" Film
Okay not an ape in Star Wars armor, the movie was about the titual ape being sought by a team who go to Africa to capture it.
Only It Can Think and said ape makes monkeys out of the heroes.
I don't know if I spelled "the mandoran ape" correctly but is was a movie that aired on ABC back in The '80s - when ABC aired cheezy movies and made for TV movies back then.
Shadow of the Beast - Aabron's transformation scene Videogame
I vaguely remember a short introductory scene from Shadow of the Beast where the main protagonist turns into a monster and then lets out a grievous pathetic-sounding groan. I've been searching youtube for the scene but had no luck. I have a strange feeling the scene was exclusive for certain versions of the game. For your information I owned the C64 version.
Does anyone remember the scene? I'd like to post it as an example.
kids make up a job about selling boxes Western Animation
this was probably a gumball episode but i could be wrong
these 3(?) kids (if i remember they were all male and they may have been all human too) were hanging around in their house when someone called for something and the kids pretended to be telemarketers i think and the person asked what they sold and one of the kids was like "oh we sell... uh... boxes!" and i think the guy placed an order or something
not exactly sure of the timeframe this could've been in but possibly early 2010's
slight edit: apparently they made up the box thing as a job for one of their parents but in not rly sure
Edited by jellygelly13[SOLVED] Ambiguously popular 80's disco(?) song Music
Unfortunately I only remember how the music sounded as I've last heard it about 20 years ago and couldn't hear lyrics clearly.
It souded awfuly lot like this track from Double Dragon. It was sung by female singer and the only instrumets used were keyboard(probably) and percussion. Oh and in the 2nd verse the singer chuckled ocassionally.
That's all I know.
Any idea what the song's title might be and who performed it?
Edited by sohibil(Still Unsolved!) Asian Romance show on Netflix Live Action TV
Sorry this will be pretty long-winded because I’ve tried to find it multiple times and no one seems to know.
This is a show I watched on Netflix probably 3ish years ago. I’m fairly certain it isn’t on there anymore because I’ve tried to find it and I can’t. It was an Asian (Korean I think? Maybe Japanese? I can’t remember) romance show that centered around three girls and their separate romances. The girls were best friends.
The main girl was a student, and had her romance with a fellow student who was secretly a famous musician (I think his stage name started with a W?) and they had a sort of “I hate you but secretly I like you” thing going on. I think she was forced to work with him for the class. One scene with them I remember in particular is when she suddenly got sick with food poisoning and he took her back to his apartment so she could diarrhea with nothing but a foldout divider separating them, then he went and bought her stomach medicine. At some point she found out about his secret and he ended up taking her to this house he was shooting a music video at. He also had some weird lust-y side romance with a famous artist. I think he started getting close to the main girl but at some point they stop talking for maybe a year, for what reason I can’t remember (probably start of season 2). She had a baby she had to take care of sometimes (I think her sisters baby?) and he would continually confront her and try to convince her to give him the time of day. The last scene I can remember with them is them on a rooftop together.
One of the other girls is an office worker. She was very stressed and pressured a lot for one reason or another, so she started going to get massages. I believe it was a family owned place, and she found her romance in her masseuse. He was always very sweet and would give her roses, and I think he walked her home a few times.
The other girl was the train wreck friend. She had a history of dating musicians who were on tour and going on the tour bus with them, then getting left behind once they got bored with her. She had finally moved on from that and said she wanted to date someone seriously. She started working as an assistant to a director on a movie set. She quickly fell head over heels in love for the leading man, who was a very serious older guy, and was supposed to be a pretty big deal and a great actor. I think maybe he had been out of the business for a bit and this movie was him coming back, if I remember right. She would keep trying to impress him and get his attention by doing tasks for him, meanwhile not doing the rest of her job very well.
There was also some side-story happening with a girl who I think might have been the main girls sister. I think she found out her husband had been cheating on her and she confronted his mistress, but I can’t remember what came of it.
That’s officially everything I can remember from that show. I think maybe the title had something to do with a tree or a flower but I could be totally wrong. If anyone has any idea I would be so grateful. I’d like to close by saying it wasn’t a good show at all, but it holds a special place in my heart and I’d really like to find it for some nostalgia. Thanks for your time!
Edited by SellyStewPossible Nemo bootleg Film
It wasn't me but a friend who watched it when she was a child.
The only scene she remembers it's where there's a fish that needs a dental work so he goes with his father to an ocean dentist and a bunch of little fishes enter his mouth to clean it. I think it's an animated movie and it's not Shark Tale or Nemo. She thinks it might be a bootleg
About a bar Literature
I'm trying to remember a book I once heard about with a wizard who's a bartender. I think it's urban fantasy.
Animated film about a teddy bear who took a helium balloon trip from Sweden (?) to China (?) Western Animation
Another film I saw at school sometime in the 1980s: it was a story narrated in rhyme about how a girl in I think Sweden decided to send a doll or some other present to another girl in I think China, and sent her animate teddy bear to run the errand. She gave him a helium balloon as a means of transport. As I recall, the trip had several legs; I vaguely recall that the teddy bear's balloon burst or was lost when he got to Russia, but some kids he met there took him to a rocket plane, with which he quickly flew to China. Finally, the girl in China mailed him back to the girl in Sweden, along with a gift of a doll.
Stop motion short about a boy and a girl in a red hot air balloon Western Animation
In 1983/1984, my kindergarten teacher showed us a film that may have been called "The Red Balloon" (NOT the 1956 French classic live-action film). It was probably a stop motion short and showed a boy and a girl take a trip on a hot air balloon. That's all I remember. It was likely made by a European studio such as the Polish Se-Ma-For animation studio.
Edited by errachtStop motion short about a girl's watercolor paints removing color from the world Western Animation
There's this stop-motion cartoon short that I saw at a company Christmas party at my parents' employer circa 1986; it looked like it might have been made by the Polish Se-Ma-For animation studio. In it, a little girl had a box of watercolors and was sloppy in using them; so, each color cake came out of the box and absorbed its color from the world around. The paint cakes then run away, and the girl finds out that the world around her has become black and white. She wanders around until she comes to a spot where there is a rainbow, and the paint cakes are dancing around. She gets them to restore color to the world and I assume was neater when using her watercolors.
Funny fail video from long ago Web Original
This video is about a couple idiots mixing raw eggs into partially cooked brownies and laughing like mad while another guy, the cameraman, narrates the whole situation. I saw it a very, very long time ago and I just can't seem to find it anywhere. :/

Non fiction book about ninja
Looking for a non fiction book about ninja from their beginning to their place in modern pop culture. The name was along the line of "complete story.." or "untold story.." or something like that. It had these illustrations at the end of every chapter and was in a series of similar books about Japanese cult with 2 other being about ghosts and monsters

What was this Wonder Years like coming of age show from the late 80s/early 90s? Live Action TV
Hello! I’ve been looking for the name of this particular show (or one off TV movie or short film, I’m not certain) for years now, I’ve posted at every forum I could think of including r/tipofmytonge twice and I seem to never have any luck finding this. Now trying here to see if anyone here can possibly recognize this. Here is the info:
What 80s/90s coming of age, one camera sitcom (or possibly dramedy) in the vain of "The Wonder Years" had a best friend character who had a bowl cut and glasses, always ate peanut butter and sprouts sandwiches, and used the catchphrase, "Holly Cow!"?
I saw this show in the early-mid 90s. It looked like it was made in the late 80s-early 90s from what I remember, could be wrong. It was either American or possibly Canadian.
the following is a description of the single episode I saw:
A grade school aged boy embarrasses himself at school (I think in front of a girl he likes), so he pretends to be sick to not have to go to school the next day. When he's home sick, he decides he is going to commit suicide by asking for ginger-ale because he thinks can slip in a vile of liquid from a chemistry set and drink it.
His best friend camps out in front of his house to see if he will actually do it. His friend has a bowl cut and glasses, uses the catchphrase, "holly cow" frequently, and eats peanut butter and sprout sandwiches out of a cooler he brought. Some of the neighborhood kids gather around to see what's up.
Turns out, nothing happens when he drinks the ginger-ale because the stuff he put in turns out to be harmless. His dad, who is sort of a Patrick Duffy type, comes home and figures out what he's doing and remarks knowingly that he tried the same thing with the chemistry set when he was his age with much the same result.
Similar vibe as "The Wonder Years" or “Max Glick”.
-I looked through Patrick Duffy’s filmography and nothing seemed like it was would be this exactly, it most likely had a guy that just looked like Patrick Duffy, but of course I could be wrong.
-The show could have been produced by a religious company. Kind of also had the vibe of something like “Just Like Dad” or “The Buttercream Gang”.
-The show could have aired on:
PBS stations (KTEH (San Jose affiliate) or KQED (San Francisco Bay Area affiliate), both of which was carried on San Francisco Bay Area cable systems, which is how I would have seen both)
KTSF (Bay Area Independent station)
KTEH (Bay Area Independent station at the time)
I’m guessing these stations since it seemed like the sort of thing that might have likely aired on them considering the nature of those stations, etc. but could be wrong of course.
- The show could have possibly been a one off short or TV movie (but it seemed like an episode of a series)
The following have been ruled out:
THE KIDS OF DEGRASSI STREET
DEGRASSI JUNIOR HIGH / DEGRASSI HIGH
FUDGE
MAX GLICK
DOOGIE HOWSER

FAMILY TIES
BOY MEETS WORLD
Movie from the 80s about a girl being raped and saved by a group of boys Film
First, apologies. The 'subject' of my question is not really a nice one. So sorry for that.
I can remember I saw this movie in the mid to late 80s or early 1990s. I saw this film on TV so the movie was probably at least 3 or more years older already then.
The movie is set during (or just before or after) Helloween. One girl is being raped by a group of 'jocks' (in the US sense of the word).
Her brother (stepbrother?) sees this but cannot help here. He is approached by a black (Afro-American) boy that tells him: I know people who can help here.
Both went to a house where a much older friend (or family member?) of that black boy is living. They disturb this older guy when playing saxophone. First he gets angry. But when he is told what is going on he alarms his friend (gang?) and they 'save' the girl.
EDIT: Added that I saw movie on TV (so not in cinema).
Edited by ththth10game that unexpectedly has creepy audio whispering your name (solved) Videogame
I never actually played this game, but I remembered reading about it on this very wiki somewhere - my immediate thought was it was somewhere in nightmare fuel, but a quick check didn't yield anything that sounded like it. Anyway, at the beginning, the game asks you to type in your name, Hello, [Insert Name Here] style, but the dialogue doesn't really make use of it, so the player may forget having even entered it. However, depending upon what name you typed in, at some point you may hear a disembodied whisper of your name come through the speakers - apparently they had a voice actor read a bunch of common first names just to freak the player out.
Edited by MikeKMovie about toys coming to life Western Animation
I vaguely remember this old animation movie, maybe from around the 2000s of before. It was a movie about siblings who were sent somewhere (Orphanage? maybe, Idk) and they aren't allowed to bring toys. They end up in some place with living toys. Near the end of the movie they wind up a bunch of toy soldiers to stop the toy city from burning down or something. Please help me find it!
Tales from the unexpected
I’m unsure if it was Tales from the unexpected as I’ve trolled through all the 112 episodes and none of the titles or the short write up’s are saying anything to indicate what I remember. My recollection is of an old man making toys for the children from what I remember used pieces of cloth etc and the parents decide they will no longer allow the children to visit the old man saying they could get infections from what they believed was filthy items. The old man was devastated and sort of give up on life . He dies but then the story becomes very dark and he seeks revenge and he comes back from the dead I think and targets the people who had done these selfish and unkindly acts to him. I’m sure it was tales from the unexpected but I just can’t find it . Can anyone help
