Sounds like it could be Awakenings, with Robert De Niro and Robin Williams.

This matches what I was describing perfectly! Solved! Thanks!
Counting all the sheep in disguise, caught up in a world of lies.
It is an old, live action movie. I remember that at the beginning, a boy is shown to be struggling, with wobbly notes as that differ so much from notes on previous pages. His mom also said that she saw him point at a direction, saying 'Mom, mom' and never spoke again. That boy grows up, becoming a man with a disability. A doctor is the main character (I think), and I also remember the scene where a woman with the same condition as the boy I mentioned does not talk or respond, but when the doctor throws a baseball at her, she catches it. I've seen it once in psychology class in high school, and it now just went into my head. I hope those details will help me, and you, identify it. Those are all the details I can remember.
