Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.

There's a trope called No Russian, at a guess after the mission in Modern Warfare. Too controversial?

Should a WMG about a work's sequal go on the original work's page or should a new WMG page be created for the sequal?
I ask because I have a few speculative WMGs about Borderlands 2 (and I've noticed that there's already a few on WMG.Borderlands), but the work page doesn't have its own WMG. I only go on WMG pages very occasionally so I'm not sure what the done thing is (i.e. if the lack of a WMG.Borderlands 2 is because it hasn't yet been created or because it shouldn't be created).

I and a few others have noticed that a couple of editors seem to be patrolling the YMMV page for the new Devil May Cry reboot, removing anything that shows the fans may have a legitimate concern about the game's quality and twisting everything as Fan Dumb to make them appear as overzealous assholes who need to stop crucifying poor old Ninja Theory. Something about this reeks of desperate damage control or someone desperately trying to make everyone else's opinions look bad while covering up the fact that they actually have a leg to stand on. Thing like pointing out that the director openly insulted the fans of the older games are deleted and the reasons for editing are always "keep personal opinions out," but isn't that the whole point of YMMV? That not everyone sees things the same way? Deleting and trying to silence an entire side of an argument seems like a pretty bullshit way to represent that. I made a post about this in the Wiki Talk forum and they directed me here, so I'd appreciate some closure on the matter.

I'd like to head off a potential Edit War on the Devil Survivor page:
The original uses the phrase "Peaceful days are over". The Updated Re-release uses "Peaceful days died". Tropers who have played only one or the other keep changing it. Is there a policy for which one goes on the page?

So, we've been having a real issue of late with the example of Ghetsis from Pokemon. After finally having him removed due to vote in the Special Efforts thread for cleaning up Complete Monster, an entry for him appeared in YMMV.Pokemon Black 2 And White 2. It was removed, citing the Special Efforts thread, and then readded with a rather emotional edit reason about a half hour later. Thoughts?

There's this review for Arkham City, right?
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/review_comments.php?id=4996#listtop
People have slammed the reviewer's views, and I have questioned the harsh criticism. The latest comments state that the comments section is for saying how much you don't like something. I thought we weren't a wiki for bashing things.

There's a guy (Turtler) who seems to be a bit of a single-issue editor (his 'thing' appears to be military tactics and their history). To date, he has edited every attempt at an X Com (2012) article to attack one specific NPC he apparently doesn't like. He'a also reversed an edit by somebody else who (correctly, in my opinion) cited him for natter and poor formatting. While one revert doesn't make an edit war, I really would like somebody to take a look at this, as it's getting a bit...tiresome.

I posted the following entry to Artistic License – Nuclear Physics:
- The Mass Effect writers usually get the science right, which makes it all the more jarring when they don't. In Mass Effect 2, while explaining her cyberwarfare capabilities EDI notes that once she's breached the enemy ship's firewall she can potentially force their fusion reactor into meltdown. Unless the term was redefined at some point, meltdown is a danger that is specific to fission reactors.
We got into a discussion over whether the example counted. Can we get a mod ruling?

The troper kyuubidriven did a major page split on Characters.Borderlands with no discussion anywhere that I can find, and it was poorly done to boot. I sent them a PM, but no response. Requesting page be reverted to the edit "23rd Oct '12 8:56:59 AM kyuubidriven."

Ok...so I was editing the Arc Fatigue page and noticed that a mention of Final Fantasy Type-0 didn't have a link to the game's respective work page. I typed it as VideoGame/FinalFantasyType-0, but the link became a Red Link upon editing. I visited the game's actual page via a Google search to see what the URL address had; it ended in the exact same sequence that I had typed before. I suspected that the dash/hyphen (-) in the Wiki Word had something to do with the issue...to make it easier, I went to go make a redirect for VideoGame.Final Fantasy Type Zero (I typed it as [[redirect:VideoGame/FinalFantasyType-0]]), and that managed to result in this mess:
...which I think manifests as my original attempted redirect of VideoGame.Final Fantasy Type Zero incorrectly redirecting to a nonexistent "Final Fantasy Type" videogame page. I'll suppose I need to head over to the Cut List page to begin fixing the mistake, but my question is this: How can I make a proper redirect from VideoGame.Final Fantasy Type Zero to the game's actual page without the pesky hyphen (-) getting in the way?
Thanks in advance for the help.

I've recently launched The History Of Video Games and most of its subpages. What kind of redirects should I put for the subpages? Could I just put Seventh Generation for The Seventh Generation Of Console Video Games, for example?

Okay, I kinda goofed with something here. I made a new page for a game, Cargo Commander , as seen here:
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/CargoCommander
I took a cue from the Prototype2 and thought that putting it in as a Videogame entry was the correct way to do it, but it turns out I've made it difficult to link to, and the stuff like the YMMV page for it doesn't have the Main button. The thing is, I thought it would do redirects automatically, like it did with the Prototype 2 one here, but evidently I was mistaken -
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/Prototype2?from=Main.Prototype2
Could someone please fix this, or better yet, tell me how to fix it myself so I don't screw a page up like this in the future, please?

We've got an Edit War on the Mass Effect Races page. And There Was Much Rejoicing is the trope of contention.
Oh, and another Edit War at Questionable Content about Wham Line.

Why is Gamebreaker YMMV, while Disc-One Nuke is not? It just strikes me as odd because a D 1 N is basically a gamebreaker that just becomes obsolete before the end of the game.
So i am a somewhat new troper, and i don't have much ( read: not at all) experience with editing pages, such as how to put Spoilers or writing for other Troper rather than myself. Currently in trying to enrich the Kana Little Sister pages, particularly the Heartwarming page, which didn't have anything still until i started. The question is: Could please another Troper who is also a fan of the game, help here? at least with learning the editing? the wiki doesn't help much with that.
