Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Is it that the tables do not exist in the world, or that the wiki doesn't have pages for them? If the second, it's perfectly acceptable to insert redlinks for untroped works. In fact, it's encouraged.
No, the tables outright do not exist, period. I would know. I’m a huge pinball fan myself, and this guy implies that tables for things like Hamtaro and Sonic X exist, when I know for a fact that they don’t.
Check out my fanfiction account here!Maybe PM them. Say you're a pinball fan, and have never heard of those tables. Ask if they have a link to <table> or what company made them. See what happens from there.
No. I have a better idea. I’m gonna PM him and ask him to explain himself here.
Check out my fanfiction account here!On some of the tearjerker pages, like VeggieTales and The Loud House, they seem to be adding any instance of a character crying, even if the scene isn't really sad.
And why don’t you look at some of these edits for that article, too?
Check out my fanfiction account here! Not to mention all of these false entries seem to be in the wrong folder. They should be in Dot Matrix, but instead they’re in Alphanumerical.
Check out my fanfiction account here! Why don't you pull specific examples for us instead of insisting we look? Also, no offense AJ, but you need to settle down a little. Your tone here is very aggressive, and it's a bit arrogant to insist that since you're a pinball fan, you know every pinball game that exists. You could very well be correct, but claims this big need more evidence than just "take my word for it".
Edit: They did in fact say the troper's name and I'm just blind.
Edited by WarJay77 Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAlright. Sorry for getting aggressive. Here are a few:
- Candy Shop has The Kid put 2 strawberry Mike and Ikes in his mouth, and then the saliva turns them into something, and it's the match number, which is irrelevant. (Edit: In the family version, the match number is on his tongue! Now that IS relevant!)
- 101 Dalmatian Street has Triple D (Dallas, Destiny, Deja Vu) trying on different fashion designs for each number of the 10. If they try on a fashion design with the match number, Destiny says "THIS is the outfit for us!"
- Martha Speaks has Dynamo kicking a ball with different numbers on each pentagon/hexagon. Then, he finally makes it to the goal and the number is in the goal. When the number is matched, he screams, "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!"
- The Mickey Mouse shorts has Goofy cooking wieners with 1 wiener being the hiding number and another being the 0. Then, he flips one and POW! There's the final number.
- Hamtaro has Robo-Joe using a hammer to conk one number of the digit 10, and then he finally squishes it to reveal the matched number.
- Sonic X has Metal Sonic looking through many numbers (which one of them he reacts to). When he finally stops at the matched number, he says "That's the one for me."
- ToonMarty has Marty and Bernie swapping through rooms with the numbers. When they stop at a room and go in, it's the match number!
The troper in question's edit history.
They also added something to the description of Hell Is That Noise concerning pinball machines: "All pinball games have a Match Sequence in them and the noise when a number is matched is that knocker."
I...don't even know what that means, and I'm pretty sure that's not what Hell Is That Noise is about.
Basically, a knocking sound is played every time someone gets a free game in pinball, and Match Sequences, if successful, get the player a free game. I don’t think that qualifies either, as it’s not on par with other examples.
Check out my fanfiction account here!Well, searching for "Hamtaro pinball" and a few other titles on that list on Google doesn't appear to return any relevant results, so I believe you when you say they don't exist.
And check out what he wrote for Corvette, an actual table:
- Mechanic: "Hey, wait a minute — these numbers don't match!"Donovan Mc Donough (me): "Don't worry about it! I can make it better!"
...Yeah, at this point, it's safe to call it vandalism.
Okay, yeah, this is an issue.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSo, that settles it. Revert all his edits on Match Sequence and elsewhere. If a moderator is seeing this, I assume you know what you have to do, right?
Check out my fanfiction account here!AJ, I don't see that in the edit history for that page. Can you link the edit? EDIT: Never mind, it was on the Match Sequence page. I thought it was on the Corvette page.
I will note that this isn't the first time that this person has been reported here. They had Serial Tweaking issue back in January that (lo and behold) I had to fix. They tried to add a blue link to a page, edited the page about six times, and then gave up, leaving that part of the page in a bad state.
Edited by ArctimonSo this guy’s got a history. Did the mods do anything the first time he got brought up here?
Edited by AjWargo Check out my fanfiction account here!Other than someone cutting the WMG page they made, no. I can only guess that there wasn't much need for mod intervention; their edits were easily fixable and they were brand new at the time.
AJ, I echo War Jay's sentiment that I think you need to step back and relax for a bit. I have also sent the troper in question a PM. Moderators aren't around 24/7, but we're already pretty long here in this query. It would be pretty hard to miss.
There's not much else we can do other than monitor the situation until the mods see this.
EDIT: For the record, I did delete his addition to Hell Is That Noise since it's misuse, but I do kind of want to see if they come around with an explanation for their additions to the Match Sequence page, since I like a lot of other people don't know enough about pinball machines to accurately say they don't exist.
Edited by ArctimonI'm pretty knowledgable about pinball machines (including keeping up to date on recently-created ones) and I have never heard of any of the games this editor claims exist in his edits. I did some quick Google searching for a few of them (like Sonic X and Martha Speaks) and found nothing there, either.
I'd say they can all be safely reverted, though I understand Arctimon's desire to hold out for an explanation from the troper in question.
Edited by BlueGuy Pinball cleanup threadI've banned that troper, this looks like vandalism.

A troper named donmcdonough has been repeatedly editing the page for Match Sequence, and repeatedly inserting information for pinball tables that do not exist. This is clearly in violation of site rules.
