Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
I checked, and there's no IP overlap and geolocation puts them in different continents.
I see. They must be two separate tropers after all.

ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔|I DO COMMISSIONS|ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔I just wanna say thank you to the loyal community who go out of their way to notice the editing patterns of potential ban evaders, reporting them and reverting/cleaning up their edits wherever they can. You guys are why TV Tropes remains the best site ever made. Your efforts never go unnoticed. Just... thank you. :)
Edited by gothamarkhamlordNo problem.
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.I noticed Jade's been removing contractions on a bunch of other pages too (see: their edits for other Monsters Inc and Toy Story pages). Is this allowed?
Edited by N8han11^ No, that's incredibly pedantic.
Jade also added a ZCE to Man's Best Friend just now. I already commented it out and sent a notifier.
I've reverted their expansion of contractions on some of the Monsters Inc subpages. They also trod all over the American vs. Commonwealth spelling rules by changing the latter to the former. (EDIT: Which AnthonyA was also pulled into the Edit Banned/Suspended thread for doing. If they really are two different editors, the similarities are positively eerie.)
Edited by mlsmithcaJade's still removing contractions (see their edits for WesternAnimation.ALVINNN And The Chipmunks) despite me sending them a PM telling them not to and linking them to this thread, and they just started an Edit War by readding The Dragon entry on WesternAnimation.Monsters Inc after gjjones deleted it for being incorrect.
EDIT: corrected with the original deleter's name.
Edited by N8han11I was the one who removed it for being incorrect.
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Their edits to WesternAnimation.ALVINNN And The Chipmunks also include unilateral changes to whether or not punctuation goes inside quotes for titles (you know, whether an example says "In The Beatles' 'A Day in the Life', the bridge..." vs. "In The Beatles' 'A Day in the Life,' the bridge...") and bowdlerisation (changing "bitches" to "broads"; if they objected to the former on grounds of sexism, the replacement is hardly an improvement).
Would it be possible to get a mod revert to the page to before they began editing it (back to TrendingToon1's edit of 25 February - although the example they added is zero-context, so...)? They did make a few legitimate corrections, but most of them are either unnecessary expansion of contractions or, again, trampling all over the "first come, first served" rule for spelling and punctuation where multiple standards exist.
EDIT: No revert needed now, I reverted the edits manually.
Edited by mlsmithcaBumping as a deeper dive into their edit history from the last two weeks or so reveals that not only do they have a bizarre insistence on expanding every contraction they see, but they also have a problem with bowdlerisation. For example, on Valley Girl, they changed "Oh my God" in the first line of the description to "Oh my gosh", and, as on the WesternAnimation.ALVINNN And The Chipmunks page, "bitches" to "broads". On TearJerker.Mrs Doubtfire, as well as a plethora of expanded contractions, they changed "kick-ass" to "chaotic", and on Film.Mans Best Friend (the page for a horror film, so they can't exactly argue that it's supposed to be G-rated), they changed "crap" to "heck".
I'll send some bowdlerisation notifiers their way after submitting this message, but there are clearly some problems here between the needless expansion of contractions, bowdlerisation, and the Edit War over whether Waternoose or Randall is the Big Bad of Monsters, Inc.. (EDIT: Notifiers sent.)
Edited by mlsmithcaI don't get why some editors expand contractions. I brought that up with another editor last year.
At this point we'll probably need a new thread.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSorry to keep bumping this, but in spite of the notifiers, they're still obsessively expanding contractions and changing Commonwealth spelling and punctuation standards (such as not putting a full stop after "Mr" or "Mrs") to American; they've just gone on a tear through the main page and most of the subpages for Film.Mrs Doubtfire (including Headscratchers and WMG).
EDITED TO ADD: And on TearJerker.Mrs Doubtfire, this includes re-expanding contractions that I'd gone through the page and re-contracted once already. This isn't an edit war hill I'm prepared to die on; could a mod please revert their most recent edit (from 24 March)?
Edited by mlsmithcaJust please make a new thread. The mods ignore ones that go on for too long.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSuspended them, feel free to revert their edits, but locking here.

So, not too long ago, JadethePegasus edited the Monsters, Inc. page to remove contractions and change the Big Bad entry according to the history and it seemed familiar.
I looked through their edits, as well as the banned editor AnthonyA's edit history and judging by their editing patterns, we might have a potential ban-evader, but can someone look into this? Thanks.
