Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
We don't link to IMDB or even Wikipedia, so it helps to have as much information condensed right here. Secondly, it's not "full" but it's not just the main cast either. It's more of a comprehensive cast list, but if you want to rename it, go ahead.

Hm. First, there Ain't No Rule. Second, I like making creator pages and making sure filmography is crosswicked, so I see the benefit of having actors linked on the main pages. But as mentioned, we aren't IMDB or Wikipedia and our job is to list tropes, not actors, so we do not need to emulate their style.
Maybe incorporate them into the main body of the description? This is an example of the way I personally do it:
The problem with that is that you miss out too many, especially with the ensemble films. You risk getting the synopsis go way out of hand.
Wouldn't this already be covered by the Character pages? They normally list the actor playing those characters.
Yeah, typically actors are listed under their character on the Character Sheets.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Agreed. That's usually what happens, unless it's a character without a section (but since this is supposed to be a "Main Cast", that's kind of a moot point).
Edited by Piterpicher Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods Of Incremental)In the case of MCU’s ensemble films, the character sheets are already extensive and comprehensive. And the descriptions are synopses.
I don't like the precedent of listing cast lists on the description pages. It'll bloat the pages further, especially for large casts. Character pages fulfill that purpose just fine.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Agreed, this is really unnecessary and space-consuming. They're also continuing to do it even after we've pointed out reasons for them to stop.
The problem is that there is no other place on the Internet for cast lists cross-referenced with actors' filmographies.
........IMDB? Which, again, we are not?
What, again, is wrong with the character sheets-creator pages cross-referencing?
^^ IMDB and Wikipedia do exactly that, what are you talking about?
I remember once being told that full cast info like that is allowed in the Trivia pages.
^^ & ^^^ Oh, really? Those things that exist and fulfill this particular function better than we ever will?
Well, then.
Edited by Alphatater^ ...Were you being sarcastic in the other post, then?
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWe don't list pasta recipes on this site either, that doesn't mean we suddenly need to start doing it.
We already note the actors on the Characters pages. We don't need to list every actor in every show. Maybe put the cast list on Trivia, maybe, but on the main page which tends to be bloated already? IDK.
Edited by mightymewtron I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Seems like strong consensus to get rid of this. Anyone have objections?
No objections from me.
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Go ahead and remove them.
I'm gonna start cutting any I see then, with links to this thread.
Took care of the remaining ones.
Apologies for late response. Just wanted to clarify I'm not remotely against you guys removing it. Like the synopses, it was just a thing I wanted to try to see if it'll work. That did, this didn't. No biggie.
Troper The Extractor has taken to unilaterally adding a section to all the MCU films called "Full Cast" containing a list of the actor and the character they play.
First off it's not really a "full cast" but more a "main cast" list and second do we really such thing?
It's going to make the MCU films formatted differently than other films and there's already a really good website getting full cast/crew info called IMDB.
