Find a Trope:

Describe the Trope:

Synchronicity MOD (4 Score & 7 Years Ago)

Cuteness Proximity seems like it could fit the first situation, unless the harm is explicitly a power of the cute thing, in which case Killer Rabbit might be a better fir.

The trope Nosebleed is a nosebleed as a shorthand for horniness, if that applies.

2. Can be Psychic Nosebleed

3. Face Fault or People Fall Off Chairs?

4. Usually happens during a Die or Fly incident

  1. Not quite, that's just for "debilitating cuteness." It doesn't suggest any real hazard to being near the cute thing.note
  2. Nosebleed is surprisingly blatant. Probably should've thought of that myself.
  3. Face Fault seems like it. Is it possible that "landing flat on one's face in the span of an instant" could be seen as an exaggerated example? And what about Fainting?
  4. Err, No. I'm looking for a trope that has more to do with ignorance than "powers spontaneously manifesting just because you need them."

I think 1 could be an exaggerated form of Cuteness Overload. on PlayingWith.Cuteness Overload, Alice dies from it so maybe that fits?

Otherwise we dont have a specific death by cuteness trope

Well, minus the "explod[ing] in a pink cloud of sparkles" part, that seems about right.

Nope, colder. It's more along the lines of "innocence in obliviousness," as the Cat Girl reacts in a manner one would expect from a confused child. Which also means she's oblivious to her own "gorgon-esque" cuteness, but still.note

As for the Fainting variant for #3, I figured that the "emotional" version is the closest match.note  Assuming Fainting is valid to begin with.

With the scene in mind:

2. Deadly Nosebleed (needn't be deadly)

Actually, I'm leaning toward Nosebleed itself, as that was the trope I was thinking of when I made the OP. Plus, you don't see people dropping dead like flies en masse every time something cute happens, it's just that the unnamed victim from the OP has a lower constitution than most.note

-

Also, I did a bit of searching, and may have found my 4th trope: Achievements in Ignorance (the Cat Girl is just as confused as everyone else when the other guy faints, not realizing that she was the cause). Ironically, it's actually somewhat synonymous with my hypothetical "innocence in obliviousness" description from earlier. Though I'm not going to update the list until someone can confirm that AII is in fact what I'm looking for.

^ Oh, I didn't consider the man having been aroused by the mew.

Well, to be fair, the three main ways someone could get a nosebleed without getting punched in the face are arousal, mental overload, or internal dying. And since there's no way a harmless mew could've caused the latter two without some form of demonic powers, the only obvious possibility is that she/it was just that cute. Take chibi!Kromia for example. Impossibly cute, but not inherently deadly (unless you give her a knife, then it's murder time)

Btw, Nosebleed was a poor naming choice for a trope that specific.

Are you talking about my example, or the trope itself? If the former; your comment is technically a ZCE. If the latter; I actually agree, as the ambiguity tripped me up near the start.hint  Though here isn't the best place to come up with a new name.

Getting back on topic, we've found 3/4 tropes, with Achievements in Ignorance still being a maybe for #4.
