Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

idk about the first one, but the second one seems to be a snowclone (see: Does Not Like Shoes, Does Not Like Spam)
They're grandfathered for a reason. Unless they're greatly misused or not thriving, they should not be renamed.
Edited by alnair20aug93 ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔|I DO COMMISSIONS|ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔Things that aren't oft-repeated dialogue should not be on the Stock Phrases and these two tropes Asleep for Days and Does Not Like Men don't look like it.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'll remove them.
Limpin' with the bizkit.Ugh, I hate the grandfather rule.
For every low there is a high. It's not great, but a lot of these trope names are simply too recognizable to change (and a lot of them would have clunkier, worse titles if changed, because the stock phrases simply sound a lot more natural at times, even if they're now against the rules).
IDK. As long as everyone is following the current rules to the best of our ability and fixing older pages when they become problematic, I don't see much a reason to change older, established titles just so they can conform to our new standards. The old titles are what they are for a reason, after all...
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI'm fully in favor of cleaning up some of the more meaningless Stock Phrases, though.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!Oh, same here. I just don't see any reason to go on a full name-changing crusade.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessOdd not to see I Never Said It Was Poison listed there.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300^ If it sounds like someone talking, it's considered a Stock Phrase.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI mean, if we changeeven the grandfathered Stock Phrases to something too technical and less recognizable, then those titles would sound too Wikipedia-ish, and we all should acknowledge both in letter and in spirit that This Is Not Wikipedia.

So a while back, I suggested we rename some Stock Phrases so they're no longer stock phrases (like renaming I Can't Feel My Legs! to something like Numbness Spells Trouble since the trope is basically losing feeling in the legs leads to serious injury).
Yesterday, I was looking at the Stock Phrases page and noticed some aren't even that dialoguey, so why are they there? For example, Asleep for Days and Does Not Like Men don't sound stock phrase-y to me.
