I think a new Wiki Talk thread would be preferable. It's a bit out of scope for IP, since it's not just about picking an image for a page, it's about re-designing the wiki mascot.

Honestly, I've got zero interest in the wiki having a mascot. Nothing wrong with it for people who do care, but if you're proposing some kind of large-scale "Trope-Tan Awareness Campaign", I wouldn't.
I feel like the fashion for anime style mascots and "tans" has kinda passed.
I'm still a big fan of Moe Anthropomorphism trope. But yeah, I think a different kind of mascot would be cooler. Maybe we should have Mister Trope, a Macho Camp with Badass Mustache instead.
^Your suggestion made the name "Dr. Troper" randomly pop into my head. The funny thing is that I didn't even originally intend for it to sound like Dr. Pepper.
I suppose Dr. Troper would be the same as your Mister Trope character, except that he's a mad scientist who ruins people's lives.
Edit: I should probably add that I'm not making a serious suggestion, and this is just a cheesy joke I came up with due to boredom.

I love Trope-tan, I wish she was used more. If you're just talking about redrawing her with "better" art, I'm all for that, though I'd be of no use myself. I do think a lot of her attributes (like her brown pants, belts with various talismans, dichromic eyes) are fun references that I wouldn't want to see removed, even if they make her hard to draw. The point isn't that we desperately need a mascot, it's supposed to be a fun in-joke making fun of both TV Tropes culture and the whole concept of Moe Anthropomorphism.

I've seen redesigns of her on Tumblr.
As I am looking at the page image of Trope-tan, I see that the art style looks... crude. Natrally, I'd go to the Image Pickin' thread, but seeing her character design with her brown pants and yellow shoes, and the trinkets around her belt, I was thinking that there'd be a makeover on her character design so that she would be easy to draw much like Wikipe-tan. Would an IP thread still be ideal for her revamp?
As for old tropers, do you still remember Trope-tan? To new tropers, are you aware that This Very Wiki has a mascot named Trope-tan?
