New theme music also a boxEh? Why would they do that when this is the accepted way of reporting tropers?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Purenessshoot,I responded to the wrong person,my bad!
New theme music also a boxLooks like in their most recent page edit, they reworded it to not have chained sinkholes.
Vehicle Based Characterization | Grief Induced Split | Locker Mail^ Yes, and I thought they understand it. But their most recent PM made it clear that they don't (and insist that I'm wrong one).
Looking through the PM's and edit, their argument is that:
are not sinkholes, which is strictly correct — the pages linked to are relevant to the text that links to them.
Regardless, I would agree that the Chained Sinkhole point about it being discouraged because "The reader has no clue there are multiple links there." applies to editing generally. I PM'd them that with a link to this discussion.
Huh? So the cluster of miltiple links by itself is only bad writing but ok? I've feeling that then it won't listed as specific point since following the plain sinkhole part would automatically avoid it. But guess I would just be more lenient with it from now.
Edited by KuruniSo chained pot holes are strictly speaking okay, but chained sink holes aren't?
Edited by TheharboAs I understand it, chained links are the problem - and that applies whether the links are potholes or sinkholes.
The Administrivia sinkholes page does mention that chained links are treated as sinkholes, but it's not entirely clear (imo) about it.
I've proposed a rewrite (and an addition to the pothole page) over on the Administrivia update thread.
Edited by Mrph1Yeah, the basic issue as written seems to be that chained 'holes blend into one another and are difficult for readers to parse and distinguish. Since this is an interface problem rather than a link-text agreement problem, it would apply equally to potholes and sinkholes.
This query is about Sean Murray I. Please comment about the policy in the linked policy thread.

Mod can check the PM exchange between me and Sean Murray I.
For a bit of background, the troper made this edit which include a chained Sinkholes, and I sent them sinkhole notifier and remove one wiki link.
Then replied that they did nothing wrong, so I pointed out that their specific issue is about chained sinkholes.
Somehow they don't understand that and insist that they did nothing wrong since the parts they potholes are relevant to the tropes. I noticed that they made another edit to the article but now it's fine, so I replied that chaoned sinkholes is when two wiki links are next to each other it look like one link and can confuse a reader, but since they did good job fixing that, it should be fine as long as they never put two links together again.
They replied again, still insist that they did nothing wrong and I'm one who misunderstood the Administrivia, that chained sinkholes only applies if "link names are not made clearly relevant in their context" (in other words, they think it's the same as normal sinkhole, just being next to each othet).
Clearly, they don't bother to read the relevant part of the Administrivia (even with I quoted it in one of the PM). At this point, I don't think I can convince them otherwise.
