resolved Card game Anime Anime
On Cheez TV or Toasted TV there was an Anime series that based around a card game sorta like Yu-Gi-Oh!
Elements I remember include
- Believe there four main characters
- The male hot headed boy protagonist
- Shorter glasses wearing boy who was The Smart Guy
- A girl who was friends with them
- A slightly ditzy girl who was new to the area and was mostly used to ask questions about the game so it could be explained to her and thereby to the audience
- Before each game the players would hold out their decks in front of them and shuffle them
- One game has the protagonist playing the game outside in near a waterway and some storm clouds start rolling in. The opponent points to the sky and makes a speech about how the storm is harbinger of his victory. The opponent gets exactly the cards he needs for his tactics and while the others are wondering how the ditzy girl points out that he swapped his shuffled deck for an unshuffled one while they look up at the storm clouds in the sky.
- The characters going through rooms beating top players until the come to a girl's room and while they are looking for the occupant, a phone starts to ring and the ditzy girl answers. It turns out it's the ditzy girl's room and she is the player, pretending not to know about the game for some reason I forget and have a game.
openManga where a catgirl gets flattened by weird invention? Anime
I think the scene in question happened in a school's printing room. The catgirl stood too close to one of the machines and her tail got caught in the rollers, dragging her through. She's unharmed, but stuck in a paper-thin state. She runs off to find the scientist who made the machine so that he can restore her to normal, which if memory serves is achieved with a (possibly oversized) microwave.
Edited by RadayamopenSome Anime Anime
I have been thinking about an anime. I just remember one episode about a trio of students that were about to have a test, and for some reason, then one of them climbed into a clock tower to fix the abandoned clock there.
openDID Anime scene Anime
I once saw a scene in an anime where three women had apparently been sentenced to death. All three had their hands bound in front of them in a futuristic version of stocks and the woman selected to die first was obliged to bend over so that her stocks would lock into this pillar thing, the effect being sort of like a pillory, only with her neck exposed for the headsman’s axe. Just as the executioner was raising his axe for the chop, the women’s male ally managed to intervene and save all three.
openNinja Girl with a crush Anime
I'm looking for a manga about a ninja girl with a crush on an ordinary boy who goes to her high school. It's mostly from the girl's perspective. There is a chapter where she goes to great length to learn his phone number but at the end it turns out he doesn't answer calls from unknown numbers. In another chapter she accidentally forgets her ninja tools and takes knitting supplies with her instead but manages to take down the opposing ninja with those.
openSuper obscure anime with monsters from the 2000s (possible lost media) Anime
This is... something, alright. Nobody I ever talked to it about knew what I was talking about, nor it seems that it was already documented here. Did I have hallucinated this? I don't know.
I remember in the year 2009 in Italy they broadcasted a Mon anime series, which unfortunately, I never memorized the name. I'm pretty sure it was an anime and not just an Animesque cartoon, because it had that style typical of the Turn Of The Millenium animes. It had at least an Italian dub.
This Mon show was very notable in that it looks like it lacked any semblance of mon-related collectibles, which implies it was NOT Merchandise-Driven, nor it seemed to have evolutions for the mons; this also means that I couldn't possibly have seen Bakugan or a Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh! series.
Other details I can give to better help identify it: The setting was mostly like our world except critters live alongside humans.
The protagonists were a quartet of kids plus the mascot mon, and pretty cliched; the protagonist was a red-headed Hot-Blooded Idiot Hero and probably an Extreme Omnivore as well; the deuteragonist was much more stoic and probaboy wore either blue or black, but also had some un-boyish hobbies; then there's the girl who was a pink-wearing tomboy; and finally the timid yellow-wearing smart guy; plus the mascot Mon who was a white-colored Cartoon Creature. I remember the five main characters bickering a lot with each other.
The main antagonists were a Terrible Trio of Green and Mean devils who were revealed to be brainwashed, but there also were a couple of GreaterScopeVillain.
I also don't remember any of the characters' names.
Some episodes I somewhat remember:
- An episode where the aloof lancer is revealed to like collecting plush toys, but his parents scold him for having such hobbies, but it's also revealed that the big guy from the Terrible Trio also collects plush toys and attempts to steal a rare plushie from the good guys;
- An episode where there's a huge monster on a rampage, and also a Mon that looked like a fire-breathing Jack-o'-lantern (one of the few "generic" Mons I remember from it);
- An episode where The Smart Guy saves the day but mistakes a boy for a girl;
- The Myth Arc and possibly the "finale arc", where the masco Mon flees, the kids try to find him with the protagonist trying to bait him out with EXPIRED snacks (that's very dumb, but one of the only scenes I remember clearly...), all the four kids touch a magic stick and get transported to a special place, where a "butler-like" Mon reveals to them that the mascot had an older brother who did an Heroic Sacrifice, using carvings in a wall to illustrate the story.
I've tried giving the most detailed account I could give at this point, and so far nobody else even had the faintest idea of what I was talking about. It could be lost forever..
resolved duo thief old anime Anime
I'm looking for an old anime, probably from around early 2000s or maybe late 90s. The main characters is a duo of a man and a woman, and they're some kind of thief. Each episode follows a different heist where they steal a specific MacGuffin. The reason they're doing this is because they were contacted by their boss or something, and the boss told them to get something important, but the connection cut off before the boss could tell them what it is and they just resorted to stealing everything and checking whether or not the MacGuffin they stole that episode was the right one or not. They always return the items if it's the wrong one.
openIdol show with a gorilla? Anime
No really the first thing that comes to mind about this anime is that one of the higher ups is an gorilla. But for more context: The anime is about three idols and their manger living in either space or a future world where I think aliens existed. I do remember the anime’s runtime was short but how long each episode was is a blur. That’s unfortunately about the only stuff I remember.
So does anyone know what the anime’s name was or am I the only person who remembers this oddity?
Edited by eirigfiopenAnime about an angel Anime
This was from a very long time ago.
I was at Fry's Electronics with my mother. She was look for a DVD of a specific anime, which I don't remember.
One of the series depicted a man and an angel. The man had black and I think glasses. The angel was a woman, dressed in the stereotypical gown, with wings. She had brown hair I think.
The striking thing was that rather than float above her body, the halo was supported by rusty/bloody metal beam growing out of her head.
There where two DV Ds with these two. One I don't remember. The other was the two in a prison cell. The man look panicked while Angel just stood there serenely, smiling at him.
The appearance of that Angel stuck with me all my life.
resolved old Werewolf anime film Anime
old (think 90s/80s) anime film about a woman who falls in love with a werewolf and has two kids, a daughter and a son, with him. the werewolf dies at some point, and the woman and her two kids move out into the country and work on a farm? the woman's daughter accidentally bites someone at school, and the son feels increasingly disconnected from his human side, eventually leaving the family at the end of the film.
openShow based on specific character Anime
The character in question comes from what looked like a fantasy anime that someone was watching next to me. It was a dark-skinned woman with long, straight, mint-blue (or green?) hair.
I remember a couple of other characters, namely a bearded king with light brown hair and a short, blonde girl who looked like his daughter?
The anime in question was watched on Crunchyroll (from what I could tell) and seems recent enough to have been produced in HD.
resolved Comedy Anime Vampire Anime
This was something I discovered on You Tube a few years ago that I intended to watch, but I've lost the name.
It was about a vampire with a female human assistant. He was kind of a goofball and she was kind of hot-headed, but wanted to be his girlfriend and (I think?) for him to drink her blood. He refuses, because drinking human blood made him aggressive. There were also two other humanoid monster people (at least I think they were) living with them; one was a girl who lived in a fridge. It's hazy, but I think they had some kind of job as detectives or monster hunters - I recall that because of seeing the female assistant trying to wake up everyone because they had a job and needed to get on the move.
From what I remember of the image quality and art style, it was definitely mid-1990s. Also the vampire guy had neck-length white hair and a dark cloak.
openShojo anime with two colorful monsters Anime
REPOST: When I was younger, I watched part of a scene from an anime randomly on TV. There was a girl who saw another girl with her parents. The first girl was then chased by then couple, and all of a sudden, these slimes emerge from the mom and the dad that form into two demon monsters with long claws (one red and one blue), which caused the parents to collapse; apparently were possessed by the monsters. The girl fights these monsters, but then the monsters embrace and fuse into a larger purple monster. So the girl fights this thing with magic or something and destroys it, and this causes the girl and her parents to wake up all better. I tried to search for it, but I couldn't find it. What could this anime have been?
Edited by SilvershadeWolfopenAnime with wacky humor and multiple characters Anime
I'm not sure if it was a Shonen anime or Western animation. I only watched it once in TV, in the mid to late 2000s. It was dubbed to Spanish in this case. The plot was action-adventure oriented, with a group of main characters but I don't remember details. The only episode I watched was probably an early one, the group being in a field or a town.
There were two secondary characters who kind of joined the main group as allies, at least temporarily. One of them was an old man who was constantly doing dumb stuff in the background (maybe juggling or using a unicycle) and funnily saying "look at me, look what I do!" or something similar. The other character was a young man who also repeated a line in a similar fashion.
If I remember right, the main characters didn't pay much attention to those two men, as they were background comic relief or maybe just not plot-relevant. Despite the absurd humor, it seemed the series took itself seriously in some degree.
It's not Bo-bobo or Rave Master, but looked similar to them. Thank you!
Edited by combombopenPoetic death scene Anime
Some anime, a character dies, and we cut to their mom or girlfriend out in a field, where a strong gust of wind starts to blow. The mom/girlfriend looks worried at what it could mean.
Edited by IronAnimationresolved Mecha anime where the mecha is armor for the giant pilot Anime
I only saw a clip of it as described in title. There was a mecha in a hangar and it opened up more like armor revealing the pilot was a giant woman. I think it was discussed in the comments for the clip the pilot can also shrink down to normal size.
openAnime with the Characters Sleeping during the Credits Anime
I have this memory of an anime where the characters were all sleeping at night during one of the credits...
The anime in question had a guy with a strange doll and the credits end with the guy and the strange doll waking up to a new day.
I can only remember a part of one episode. A character shoots red lightning from their hands, and stumbles while trying to control it. They were wearing purple, and had light orange hair.
