There's been an edit war over removing and readding sections which have tons of natter and justifying edit. I'm this close to axing the section altogether.

I don't have time to go through The Artifact right now, but I excised the BSG bit. I figure a BSG fan might be able to put it back in a way that makes sense, but until that time it's more important that we don't have a 700+ word paragraph clogging up the page. If anyone wants to take a crack at that, it's on the discussion page (you have my sympathy).

Well, I tore the Food section of Americans Hate Tingle a new one, and threatened an edit ban on anyone who wars the stuff back in. However, that entire article is just really poor in quality to begin with. It might be worthy of a separate TRS thread.

Disc-One Nuke. I can't even look at it, it's so full of discussions and disagreements. Another odd thing is that probably half of the examples actually belong on Peninsula of Power Leveling; Disc-One Nuke is about items and equipment, not level grinding. Some examples are simply "you can level up really early and get good abilities if you have enough patience", which belong on neither page but probably on Game-Breaker.

Started on Disc-One Nuke, did the final Fantasy section, some of the rest, folderized pokemon. someone else may want to continue, the pokemon section gives me a headache. Its like reading several gamefaqs walkthrough

I organized the Pokemon section a bit, but I'm not sure how many of them are legitimate examples and not just Magikarp Power. If anyone else has time they can decide which ones to cut.

I took a stab at cleaning up some of the Pokemon examples.

Continuity Snarl is a gigantic Fan Wank natterfest. I guess it's too tempting for a fan to respond to "this series contradicts itself hundreds of times" with "no, it's really because of the great will of the universe splitting off at three junctures and intersecting at various points (we shall call them timelines A, B, and C). The first intersect was [[400 lines of text removed]]

Nohamotyo: Is it just me, or does the Real Life section need serious application of a chainsaw to it?

I'd just whack it and put in a generic thing about politicians, but since it would be such a huge cut I'm a little hesitant to just go charging in without double-checking whether it'd be considered acceptable.

(Not exactly the purpose of this thread, I know, but I didn't want to start a whole new thread about it.)

Well, that's one way to do it, but I think a lot of useful and interesting stuff just got nuked along with the natter.

Yeah, I think just carpetbombing it into oblivion was a bit much. If nothing else, that it's not there will probably encourage idiots to add their natterfests back in.

[edit]
Added a very truncated version of RL section, with a %%% comment about not adding specific RL examples.

@Post 83:

Yeah, someone's gone and reverted all the natter back into the food section of Americans Hate Tingle. The same guy as before, too.

Level Grinding has a bit of discussion scattered through out the examples. I've taken an axe to a few of them, but don't have time to do it all.

The page for Pokemon Black and White is kinda filled with Natter. I'd take a crack at it myself, but, having little experience with the series proper, I don't want to risk deleting anything non-natterish.

On a similar vein, just about everything that has an example on Reckless Gun Usage is loaded with Word Cruft, Natter, and Conversation In The Main Page, but I'm familiar with almost none of the works, so I don't know where to start, even if I had the time (I don't, Dragoncon prep is eating my free time beyond brief peeks in the forums here).

Dealt with black and white. Some of the entries strike me as stupidly reaching to shoehorn things in, but for the most part I just zapped the natter.

I'm sorry, but I don't see any natter in Reckless Gun Usage. Maybe someone cleaned it up remarkably fast after your post, but not according to the edit history.

No, not in RGU, in the works that are referenced in RGU, which I noticed when updating wicks as part of the changes in gun safety tropes.

Planet of Hats is a mess, especially the Star Trek section. I'll try to go over it later, but if anyone else wants to take a crack at it, go ahead.
