@Uber: I was thinking more of the "I am smarter than everyone else, including Batman, and all you peons better acknowledge it" attitude the Riddler can have. Yue could pull that off very well.
And I just realized that that description sounds a lot like Sherlock, so the fact that I was watching that last night probably influenced me.

"But I don't even know how to do it, either..."
"I'll do everything for you until you master it, Negi-sensei," Chachamaru promised. "P-Please trust me..."
"Okay, I'll do it, then..." Carefully, Negi mounted her and placed his hands on her handles. "Ready, Chachamaru-san?"
"Ready, Negi-sensei," the motorcycle confirmed, before gradually speeding away taking him on his ride.
Satomi gasped then. "Ah! Negi-sensei, wait! You forgot using protection!" she said, running after them with a helmet in her hands.

Caped Crusader, test snippet.
Batman said nothing as he ducked below Croc's razor-sharp claws, instead electrifying his gauntlets and delivering an uppercut into the cannibal's chin.
Even as the mutant staggered back from the voltage running through his brain, his instincts were strong enough to guide him into a counterattack... which didn't do Croc the slightest bit of good.
Where Killer Croc was driven purely by animalistic hunger and rage, Batman was the picture of calm fury.
Muttering a small chant, Batman covered his fist with a powerful wind spell before punching Croc in the kidney and then releasing his magic like a cannon.
His breathing slightly harder than normal, Batman got out his phone and contacted the authorities. "I'd like to report a wanted criminal unconscious in the sewers beneath the financial center. Use better restraints next time."
Turning with a dramatic swish of his cape, Batman faded into the shadows before teleporting back to the rooftops.

As he observed the city from his favored overlook, Batman heard a perverse giggling behind him, before muttering, "Damnit, I've got tests I need to grade..."
Turning around, he came face to face with none other than the Harlequin, a cheerful girl of fourteen in a fetishized jester outfit.
She cooed, "Whatcha dooin'?"
Batman's scowl deepened, if that were even possible. "Save us both the trouble and turn yourself in, clown."
Harlequin pouted, "Aww, but where's the fun in that..."
Then, she grinned as she added in a sing-song voice, "Pro~fes~sor~?"
Shit.
Batman growled, "What did you just say...?"
Harlequin put a finger to her chin and adopted a thinking expression and paused.
And continued, until with a wink she chirped, "La~di~da!" and backflipped across the street.
Shit!
And thus Batman began chasing Harlequin across the Mahora City skyline.

Closing the distance, the Caped Crusader tossed a few wind-guided batarangs her way, but with a few jacks and a ribbon, Harlequin effortlessly deflected them.
"Missed me, missed me, now ya gotta kiss me~!"
Batman paused a moment, before reinforcing his body with magic and catching up to her.
However, despite how clueless she often seemed, Harlequin was indeed an excellent combatant, able to read several of his moves while being unreadable herself. Having evaded a number of blows, she giggled, "I think we can skip to the doggy style now..."
Gritting his teeth, Batman switched gears and swept her legs out from under her, causing her to stumble back... and fall off the roof, eyes wide. "Oop-sie..."
Batman lunged and caught her by the ankle, leaving her dangling twenty stories up.
He checked to see that she was unhurt, and then promptly facepalmed with his other hand. "Harlequin, we have had this discussion before. Do not tell me you 'forgot' your underwear again."
Makie grinned, "Nah, I just decided to quit wearing undies period, that's all!"

Having handcuffed Harlequin and delivered her to the Academy's disciplinary office to be dealt with in the morning, it was a weary Batman who returned to his headquarters beneath Chao Bao Zi.
Taking a pill from his utility belt, Negi Springfield popped it into his mouth and reverted to his ten year-old form, before extricating himself from the costume.
Hakase didn't bother to look up from her thermonuclear research data. "Tough night, professor? No rest for the weary, I'm afraid. Our tests are on the coffee table."
Damnit, this one turned out to be kinda long.... Well, give me any comments you've got! <Beat> That are relevant to the story!

Nimrod: I probably won't be able to pull it off, but I plan on The Doormouse being the Uncanny Valley version of Head-Tiltingly Kinky.
As for the age pills, he created a special type of age pill that doesn't have a time limit. Useful for when he needs to be aged up for long periods of time and doesn't have access to other pills.

Uncanny Valley is when something tries to look human. Really hard. Almost too hard. And even if you don't quite know why, they fail hard at it, and their very existence just feels wrong. Often attributed to the Creepy Doll. This can also happen when a Ridiculously Human Robot is just a little bit too human or just a little not human enough. In other words, it's a prime trope for Nightmare Fuel.
EDIT: Damnit, I was thinking the Uncanny Valley version of Ms. Fanservice, not Head-Tiltingly Kinky.

@Heero: Alright, I'm going to be blunt: That did not work for me.
There's pretty much zero introduction to what's going on. Some thing named Killer Croc is yelling about not being able to eat. Some person named Batman is beating him up. Batman apparently has magic. And a cape.
That's basically all the starting segment says. There is no mention of why Batman is going out of his way to deal with Croc. The cannibal comment implies things, but there's no one Batman's protecting, and there's no mention of what started the fight. You drop the reader down in the middle of a scene and then end it without outlining the stakes.
The next scene lets us know that Batman is a professor, and a person named Harlequin/Makie isn't supposed to be aware of that, but...
I don't know how to put this. I guess all I can say is that the lack of a proper introduction kind of kills this segment. Coming into this story blind, I don't think I'd have much of an idea why Batman's getting into fights with these people or why I should care. It feels empty.
Ignoring all of that... Negi doesn't feel ten.

Just making an observation that may come off as a bit cynical so please don't think I'm discouraging you. Looking at multiple fandoms is there some sort of "Instant Awesome, Just make a Character Batman" going on? A writer takes a character typically the Nice Guy, The Idiot Hero, The Messiah, The Butt Monkey, etc. and turns them into dark, brooding, anti-heroes. Of course these are more like Whiny Batman Wannabes then The Man himself.
In this case though you're making Negi literally Batman and he fits the required mold better then say Ash Ketchum would. (WT *TWITCHES VIOLENTLY* as he recalls a few fics that shall not be named. Only that WT will note he will never understand why people give Ash Dragonite when he already has Charizard, since it seems somewhat redundant to do so.)
Thinking about it I'd say of all the Batmans Negi would be nearest too in terms of character would be The Brave and The Bold Batman.

Immi: In Medias Res, Batman Cold Open, and Bond Cold Open. You're right. He doesn't feel ten. Would anyone with the kind of mentality needed to become Batman feel like they're ten years old when they're "on the clock" as Batman?
The segments weren't relevant to the overall plot of the story at all, they were just to showcase the style in which the fic will be written and as an Establishing Character Moment for Harlequin.
Someone once mentioned to me that, even in an AU, people will expect things to generally be the same unless it's explicitly mentioned otherwise, and I was kinda trying to capitalise on that. Most readers will be at least passively familiar with the Batman mythos, if only from some of the movies, cartoons, or videogames, so it's a fair guess that they'll have at least heard of Killer Croc, if only enough to know that he's a villain. Similarly, since it's also a fair bet that most people reading this will be at least passingly familiar with Mahou Sensei Negima, and so they'll likely be able to peace together that Batman is Negi through context clues, even before I say it explicitly. And since Negi is in the role of Batman, but it's still set in the MSN universe, it would make sense that he has magic instead of being a pure Badass Normal.
Beyond that, other things would be explained as the story goes along. Since it ends with Batman apparently having a lair beneath Chao Bao Zi and Hakase knowing his identity, the next chapter would go on to explain that, as well as expositing why Makie is a thrill-seeker adrenaline junkie with a penchant for getting into trouble and not wearing underwear.
World Turtle: Negi's actually kind of his own Batman. When in the cowl, I'd say he's somewhere between DCAU Batman and Brave and the Bold Batman. As for the reason behind it, it's actually kind of inverted from what you suggest - I didn't need to make Negi into a superhero, I just needed a manga character to fill the role of Batman, and it turns out that Negi seemed to work the best.
How hard do you think it'd be just to make Negi his own original costume vigilante superhero? 3-A can still be his Rogues (or Allies), but they can be their own kind of Rogues-not analogues to the Arkham Inmates.
I even suggested their dynamic a few pages back: vigilante teacher trying to keep delinquent students in line.
I don't know why, but I just had this thought of Negi being Doctor Fate's apprentice.
Oh yeah Negi works best considering the rest are Idiot Heroes or Well Intention Anti-Heroes who've crossed lines Batman would never cross.

That is indeed a possible idea, but not one for me to pursue. As you might recall, I earlier mentioned that I was working an entire 'Verse, basically doing Fusion Fic of different anime with DC superheroes intending to create a Justice League. And Negi's just the one who happened to draw Batman.
Part of my problem with the snippet is that "Batman" has no traits that identify him as Negi. He uses magic, but that's about it.
