Devil Triggest
You think so? I was trying to be as sincere as possible. "Devil Trigger" is the most adrenaline-pumping theme out there. Right up there with Revegeance, Blazblue, Guilty Gear, Killer Instinct, & UMVC 3.

God, I would feel so conflicted, more content for DMC 5 or having Power Stone come back. I mean, so as long it's not going to be radically different play more like Anarchy Reigns
Did you just find this out recently? It's been out for a little while now, but I don't know too that many details about them though.

Yea, that makes a lot of sense.
That is pretty baffling but in Trish's case, she does need some of her moves to be revamped since she doesn't have Sparda anymore. I'm not even entirely sure if they're willing to let her use Pandora at its fullest unlike in DMC 4.

Ya know some credit to Dm C (surprisingly enough) it did at least give Vergil his own DLC story campaign, Vergil's Downfall.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."2 at least gave us the design used for Nocturne, and Dante's "Here's your crown" one liner is honestly my second favorite in the entire franchise.
I can't say goodbye to yesterday…I mean. I like 4 but:
- Dante just runs back through Nero's bosses and kills them
- the entire plot is caused because of Dante faffing around and bringing the Plot Coupon to the main villain
- the idea of a city with a religion of demon worship is interesting except you don't really explore that while you're just shooting every demon that comes your way
- Sanctus is probably the weakest villain of the franchise
- Nero shouts KYRIE a lot
- we got left with a glaring loose end about Nero being Vergil's son for years until 5 came out
- Trish and Lady get turned into walking eye candy and Trish becomes a Dark Skinned Blonde... because.
- Kyrie is entirely a Damsel in Distress
- most of Nero's backstory isn't told in the game itself IIRC, like how or where the demonic arm came from
It's split between wanting Nero to have a serious story and wanting Dante to just traipse through that story. It's the embodiment of "featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series" in the series itself.
Dmc's story sucks too but at least, prior to V giving canon Vergil character development, I liked Dmc's version of Vergil for more than being a sexy-voiced sword wielding Bishounen man.

Technically Dm C is the entire basis of Vergil 4 in DMCV
since Vergil has to have a new gimmick each battle.
and Its no coincidence that Both Vergil's main gimmick is Doppleganger... the only difference is DMCV version is actually hard
____
DMC 1 and 2 Dante are my favorite looks. they look like professional devil hunters even his Diesel look is pretty good
DMC 3 is Dante right out of the shower but gives you the classic look... even without the coat god I miss DMC 3's plethora of costumes.
DMC 4 veers into Final Fantasy Stylish to the point of impractical 'Looks at Lady'
DMC 5 is trying to be so realistic a lot of the looks are rather mundane ... save lady
____
Honestly this is once again a classic Sign, Capcom can't read a room
When DMC V became a hit and people were asking for whats next after Bloody Palace the official response was We have no plans at the moment.
Come the V SE we get exactly what you usually get in a special Edition
Vergil and few new modes and some balance tweaks and alot of focus on how Graphically beautiful the game is...
I think the simple answer is all the Photo Scanning made the Characters look great and realistic but ATE the budget which While I liked Hobo Dante... If we have to sacrifice DMC never looking this pretty again over content I can enjoy... I won't cry too much
V SE
Has Four rather Strong character playstyles, V's playstyle is more of a foundation but is solid enough
No real extra costumes or goodies like LDK for Dante or Corrupted Vergil. I think the real issue is they didn't add the thing most expected COOP for Bloody Palace especially with LDK mode where Three-four players verse literally armies of demons would be hilarious fun.
Then again Capcom kinda has fumbled the ball since DMC 1
DMC 2 was greenlite before DMC 1 was even finished and then no real attempt to get the thing on track happened till Itsuno ... Thank god the damn thing sold well
DMC 3 didn't sell as well but eventually surpassed 2 with its SE
DMC 4 ironically sold better then 1 but Capcom was in its insane "IT DIDN'T MET OUR OVERLY HIGH EXPECTATIONS" phase even though they rushed it out which speaks to how solid the gameplay is when a big criticism of the game is the back half is ridiculously weak
"It says alot about your game that the moment You get to play Dante... The game is a boring backtrack that doesn't throw any real twists at you"
DMCV straight sold better then 4... and Capcom had NO plans outside of most likely agreed about extras before hand to capitalize on it.
and with the SE apparently they had no plans or considerations too.
like No DMC 1 and 2 remakes
No DMC 0 Sparda prequel
No DMC incorporated about the Devil hunters around the world picking up he slack with the Sparda brothers gone etc etc
___
With the Sparda Gone they'll actually have to give Trish a gimmick better then I have an absurdly long roundtrip

This is an outrage against Luminara! It was Trish who did that but fair point.
Sadly, DMC isn't that type of franchise.
Really? I'd say that honor goes to Arius and Argosax and this is speaking as someone who doesn't hate DMC 2 with the rage of a thousand burning suns.
What exactly did you find weak about him?
Not the person you're responding to, but speaking from my own personal opinion: We're told that Sanctus is a Villain with Good Publicity at worst, and that he genuinely has good intentions with his whole Savior schtick, but we don't get to see any of that for ourselves. What we get to see is a walking, talking amalgamation of almost every Corrupt Church cliche, who grabs the Villain Ball at the first opportunity and holds on to it like it's his precious. Argosax, at least, has the decency to not talk, just die.
(personally, my headcanon is that Agnus was really the one running the whole show and Sanctus just happened to be the guy in the big chair when it was happening)

Someone did tell me life was going to be this way.Plus Arius was fairly neat for his Corrupt Corporate Executive X Evil Sorcerer vibe when we actually saw it.
