You know the both ways thing makes sense. just read up on some stuff and apparently she was gonna be an assassin. graduated early and all that. now granted the timeline for that and blazblue 1 doesnt make that plausible, but still.
Well if you think Bolverk is overpowered cuz it can go through the wall blocking the target, let's remember that there are attacks like Jin's 5D too in which it only senses the ground the target is standing on.
Then again, the story rarely mentions the character's power details (apart from opinions like "he/she's strong") unless for powers that aren't a part of their movesets (like Hakumen's Time Killer), so it's not even known if Kagura's really Casting a Shadow or that he's a Badass Normal (like TV Tropes page consider him) with the dark attacks as only gameplay aesthetics.
Alter Memory displays Bolverk as....only regular guns that shoots bullets. But then again, it's Alter Memory.

Personally I'd like an explanation for what Azrael even is. Right now the only backstory explanation for his power is "him big."

Part of the reason I feel nothing for Azrael is because he gives off the feeling of being a rail controller just for the sake of it. Being introduced in the third game of four, and getting only slight development in both the remaining games, does not help his cause in the slightest, and I feel that that purpose was all of which he was meant to be capable. Hatred, disappointment, disgust... each of those is far more effort than Azrael is worth in the long run.

The plot was already becoming way more complicated and the roster size was growing too large. Either they spend time developing Azrael and have a case of Trapped by Mountain Lions or they just ignore it.
Really, I think that while it's a valid complaint, it also kind of ignores the context surrounding it as well.
Like complaining about the lack of individual character stories...even though the roster is at 36 at the moment.

Given the alternate timelines in Blazblue, anyone got an idea where things just got flashpointed(glitched out to the point things dont make sense, like aqua man and wonder woman taking over the world)

Also for Noel do remember that Nox Nyctores influences emotions (the reason of Jin's Ax-Crazy-ness), while for Noel it restricts her emotions to make her fight efficiently.

Noel's Bolverk can also turn into a chaingun, a rocket launcher and a railgun. Now that's destructive.

What do you think her drive does? theres like, 3-4 drives known that have out of battle effects.
I would like for them to implement story fights better, like avoid Gameplay and Story Segregation (esp. on True Endings or single story format like CP/CF); for fights like Hakumen vs Ragna, Azrael vs Bullet, etc., either play as the character that wins in actual story (except Take-Mikazuchi for obvious reasons) OR have you use the losing character but survive on time limit instead of beating them like CP Noel vs Tsubaki, and yeah, no Autos (end only at certain health) for that, Autos are more for stalemate, unfinished, or interrupted battles.
I also want them to sometimes give damage and healths based on their canon power, again avoiding Gameplay and Story Segregation, especially come CF; like (not only those):
- Onlookers and Izanami being immortal, so unkillable (survive with time limit)
- Nerf character's stats against Ragna in CF with some exceptions (like Hakumen's fight with him, but some others are exception like Take-Mikazuchi Nu as she's buffed story-wise)
- Give superior characters more stats vs weaker ones (Azrael given more damage vs Bullet, Es given superior stats compared to Naoto and Makoto, Nine given more damage cuz magic (gave Jubei Game-Breaking Injury in her nerfed new body by Relius))
- Give Susano'o story-wise health and damage (Unlimited or not; Scratch Damage/invincible health except vs Idea Engine unlocked Ragna, attacks do crazy damage), fight with Jin should like CP Noel vs Tsubaki but Susano'o permanently full health.
- Ragna can't heal vs Hakumen.
- More injured character fights (like Jin at CS beginning) have them starting with less than full health, not only CT Unlimited Ragna vs Hakumen.

Seems people just hate it whenever they can (like DBX that shits Ragna on Ruby) and from that story hate is just extension of BB hate (in which equally complex one as GG doesn't get as shit as much).
Was the sole reason is replacing GG?
Screwattack never gave BB the respect it deserved because Nervous Nick despises the series, and he pretty much as top say in many of the site's videos.
That would be the Top 10 Worst Cartoons Based on Video Games, and his anti-BB bias showed big time in that he talks about how he just doesn't like BB. You'd think he'd attack the show for its actual flaws, but... what's even more baffling is that Tao took out Felicia in her Death Battle, which is well before Ragna vs Sol showed us Nick's BlazBlue hate boner. You'd think Tao would have been slashed open if the hate was that strong...
The story is, you know, too convoluted for a fighting game. As somebody have noted, "the moment you put alternate dimensions and time travels you can expect the story to fail". That guy probably meant "audience perception-wise" but yeah. Only nerds can stomach this story, unfortunately (and I'm more of a below-average nerd myself).
