I was in college when I started hanging out in this thread (when it was started). The point was to be the grownups' table next to the teenaged silliness that happens in places like Forum Games and Yack Fest. It used to be in Yack Fest before it got its own subforum.

Thanks, I was just wondering. I'm far from an old man but I kind of drifted here because, after spending the past couple of years on the Forum Games, the realisation that most of the tropers there are now younger than me hit me like a train.

I was always older than the bulk of the tropers on here because I was 19 or 20 when I found this site, but as I have entered my thirties, most tropers continue to tend to be 13-16.

If anything, we can help you feel younger.

Since I'm turning 21 this year, I figured I could enter here since I'm starting to drift away from the teenage/young adult crowd. In just 10 years so much has changed for better/worse and so much has happened...

Hey, I feel you. At some point, you don't feel the connection with the younger crowds. Part of it is the self-realization of the world around you and the rest for many of us is real life ensuing. Some of us got a boost to that particular phase a bit earlier than most.

Oh I was never "with it". If anything, having started hanging out on Tumblr in my late 20s, I'm more with it, or at least conversant with what "it" is, than I was when I was a teenager.

Same...I walked into our local Barnes and Noble around Christmas time and they'd rearranged everything. It was very jarring.

The most recent thing I'm excited to buy is a 70 liter steel laundry bin with a lid and a bag which costs around $200. Now I'm weighing if I need it that bad and when the discounts will be and if I can buy it in installments...
