During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Okay. I watched this movie and I give a try to one candidate I want to discuss.
What's the Work
"Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme" is an animated film released in 2007 that retells the origin of Doctor Strange, as a former selfish surgeon, who, after being unable to cure his hands, seek out the mysterious Ancient One, in order to cure them. As Ancient One and his students introduce him to the world of magic, he find out about ancient threat that looms over Earth.
This threat is my candidate - ruler of Dark Dimension, dread lord Dormammu.
Who is He/What Has He Done
Dormammu is a being of pure corrupted magic, who after taking over his dimension in the past managed to discover Nexus (world between the world and gateway to all dimensions) and take over most of the dimensions, only to be repelled back to his own dimension by Ancient One and sealed there. In an effort to break free and continue his conquering and destruction, Dormammu repeatedly awakens various monsters to cause chaos and kill Ancient One's students. Later on he takes control of hundreds of children and put them in to coma, to feed on their life energy and use their dreams to get to Earth.
As Doctor Strange and Baron Mordo arrive to release sick children from Dormammu's control, Mordo betrays Strange by allying with Dormammu, due to jealousy. As Dormammu uses the children to arrive to Earth, he uses his flesh devouring creatures Wing Marks to kill nearly all Ancient One's followers (as well as countless of other innocent people), with Ancient One himself being killed by Mordo. As Mordo fails to kill Doctor Strange, Dormammu devours him and take away Eye of Agamotto from Strange and flies to destroy Sanctum Sanctorum. Then he releases his creatures in to the Earth and he prepares to conquer it the same way he conquered other dimensions and orders them to go all over the Earth to destroy, kill and feed on humanity. But Doctor Strange managed to prevent this from happening by absorbing Dormammu in to Eye of Agamotto (due to Dormammu being made from pure magic), thus presumably destroying him.
Freudian Excuse/Mitigating Factors
Just as much as original Dormammu has, as is none. He accepted Mordo's help only because he offered help in preventing Strange from releasing children from Dormammu's control and later on he killed Mordo because he failed him. Ancient One tells that Dormammu is a being of corrupted magic, but it never factors to his moral agency, as it never stated if the magic is evil or if it makes him do evil things, like conquering and destruction. For personality, Dormammu displays arrogance (like mocking Strange during their battle: "You are a child fighting a GOD"), bad boss behavior (devouring Mordo for being unable to kill Doctor Strange quick enough) and sadism (As, he releases his army of monsters in to the Earth: "Come, spread in to the night, feast, multiply, for this world is OURS", also he almost immediately threatens to imprison Mordo in the dream world, as he tries to offer his help to him).
Heinous Standard
Well, until the last few minutes of the movie Dormammu is acting only through his creatures, by using his presence to make them more active and kill dozens of innocent people and nearly all followers of the Ancient One, with Mordo killing Ancient One himself. His last creatures, Wing Marks, especially notable for devouring people alive, straight to the bones. And he plans to spread his monsters all over the Earth, making it the same hellhole, his original dimension become.
Ancient One stated that Dark Dimension is "the world consumed by his (Dormammu's) brutal appetite", and we see glimpses

I know we voted down Mordo from this film. I think it was brought up in the same post Dormammu was a GDV.
