This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Can I have my editing privileges back? They were removed a few months ago for pretty vague reasons. Something about posting that the soldiers of the Wehrmacht knew and supported the war crimes of the Reich sounded like hate speech? On the Historical Hero Upgrade or Historical Villain Upgrade page.

@Goldfritha None of those examples that were commented out contain information explaining how the trope is used. That's the "context" we want — "Why / how is <this occurance> an example of <this trope>"? They are also all written assuming that the reader already knows exactly what the trope is. That's not how examples on a work's page should be written. And you're clearly able to write examples with context, because a number of your additions have great context (this one, for instance: Oblivious to Love: Ruff laughs at Gil for not realizing what it means when a young woman comes to watch him at his training, day after day.)
- Big, Badass Wolf: Gil talks with one.
Big, Badass Wolf is an index, not a trope itself. It contains many tropes, any one of which could have been the one that applies. The example does not identify a trope, and does not explain why the wolf qualifies as an example of the trope.
- Blue Blood: Of vast importance to the "elfs". It can even trump marrying a human.
This trope is about the overall concept of hereditary nobility. So, in the example. saying "it's really important" doesn't give enough context. How is it important? How do they measure it?
In short, "This happens" is not context.
How much context an example contains is not measured by how many words it uses.

~Rorosilky 5: An Edit War over a WMG item is its own special issue. WMG pages are meant for theories that run from the near impossible to the highly likely, which means that arguing on the page seriously is in bad form (see Programme Note). "Confirmed/jossed" is as far as we'll go in validating a WMG.
If you wanted to talk about a theory's realism, you can use the discussion page or PM the theorizing troper. Understood?

Well, I feel like I pretty thoroughly justified why that paragraph doesn't qualify as 'hate speech' but rather a valid example of the trope in question; probably the most historically significant example of it ever, hence why there's a very long Wikipedia article on the subject. And I don't really see how the old edit to American Won World War II was natter-esque, it wasn't much longer than the previous version and corrected some factual errors. I just felt like the year-old version of it was misleading.

Hi. Several months ago I received a suspension. I didn't think I would be able to be unsuspended so I decided to take a break from tvtropes. I would like to start editing again, though I understand if there's some hoops I need to go through. What exactly do I need to do to start editing again?

~Caripija_XXX, the Get Help with English thread is an olive branch that lets you contribute to the wiki even with grammatical issues. It is never acceptable to be rude to the other tropers, but it is extremely ungrateful to be rude with other tropers who are going out of their way to help you.
We get it. It's frustrating when you are trying and still being told you are not doing right - but that is no excuse to take it out on others. Therefore, release of your suspension is conditional on your ability to handle constructive criticism. If you don't think you can take someone correcting your grammar in a grammar correction thread, then there is nothing further that can be done.

As for the grammar issues, looking at edits in which you added examples, they're minimal, and they weren't remarked about in the ATT report. Do check out the English help thread if you feel you need a refresher.
