That's because it was done by admin fiat, and skipped the normal process. No one complained at the time because it seemed like a perfectly reasonable change, but it turns out cutting off half the trope out of the name was a bad idea.

Going off what you linked, the individual trope discussion pages have historically been very easy for people to entirely forget about, so I'm not surprised that one didn't go anywhere. Though now that we can @ people in discussions, maybe that will change. Anyway, maybe if someone had made a Trope Talk thread at the time, the discussion would have had an effect.

While I don't super like any of the suggested titles like Shameful To One Beautiful To Another, at least they describe the contrast. Though I do wonder in that specific case if people might miss that the person who has the trait is supposed to be the one finding it shameful... Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.

When is the page move going to be performed? It's nearly a month since the crowner was called.
As to the issue of mundane abnormalities, let us limit to things that aren't covered in any Appearance Angst subtrope. I would also intend to move all examples of cases involving hair colors to the TLP draft "Hair Color Angst"
, which is abandoned by the sponsor but there's a keen interest by other tropers to grab it as long it's Up For Grabs.

I didn't move it right away because I wasn't sure if any rewrites were needed. Since I've been less active with mod work lately (including on TRS), the move can be requested in this thread if/when it's ready (I don't currently feel like moving the page now; I just got done with He Panned It, Now He Sucks!'s page move and don't currently feel like handling another page move at the moment).

Well, in that case I will do a cleanup and probably a slight change to the description to limit the examples. That said, as to mundane cases, there're two options:
- All mundane examples go to Appearance Angst or its subtropes. or
- As I suggested above, mundane examples that fall into one of Appearance Angst's subtropes go there, except Hair Color cases (where there's a TLP for), assuming the lack of subtropes is due to it being rare.
Which do you prefer?

Consensus was to rename Freakiness Shame, due the requirement that someone else has to find the shameful trait attractive not being made clear by the trope's name. What should the trope's new name be?
In any case, if the previous rename is still causing misuse over a decade later, a second rename is probably worth it. Especially since it doesn’t even seem to have been discussed publicly before actually happening.
