Content Violations Review: Fanfic.Billy And Mandy Of The Night

How detailed are the scenes? We don't cut works featuring molesters, we cut them if they contain graphic details that aren't necessary to condemn villains.

To recap: Irwin stalking Mandy is creepy and weird but not that graphic or detailed, Dib’s Attempted Rape of Gaz is disturbing but is short and lacks much detail, and Trixie’s rape isn’t described beyond “apparently some rich girl payed a bunch of warriors to beat her up and gang rape her” (direct quote there btw).The “intimate scene” in Chapter 49 is the most concerning aspect; it lasts for quite some time and is notably detailed.

Okay. I'm going to argue for a keep, while admitting that the work is tap-dancing on the line.

The reason is that, ultimately, I don't think this is what we're looking for. The scene that is most problematic, the one between Billy and Mandy, seems to be a fairly appropriate level for fourteen-year-olds fooling around, and taken in the context of the fic, I think it's likely neither titillating nor supposed to be titillating, so much as pushing the limits for the sake of shock value. The other stuff is nonexplicitly "oo, rape and murder, we're so edgy we cut ourselves!" which doesn't even rate.

Agree that this is more an edgy fic than a pedo fic.

I believe that given what ~Septimus Heap said on distinguishing "played for shock" from "played for sexual appeal", we could change the definition of "pedopandering" to mean any work that depicts detailed explicit sex between children younger than 16 to intentionally and knowingly be titillating if we haven't already; AKA "you know it's played for sexual appeal when you see it". Take the rape scene from The Kite Runner or the sex scene between 11-year-olds from It for example; although there absolutely are pedos who read those novels just for the aforementioned scenes, Hosseini and King did not include them to attract pedophiles.

Well, yeah, that's ultimately the rule: we know it when we see it. XD

Okay, based on the reviews, I'm going to hold my nose and switch to keep.
