Hello everyone!
While the tasks I've completed so far go through the review process, my next project I'll be working on is improving the Trope Launch Pad as much as possible.
Below is a list of the current ideas for changes and improvements and wanted to ask the community if I'm missing anything important or if you have suggestions or questions about things currently on the list please let me know! 
- Disable hats/bombs & comments on discarded drafts
- TLP History needs fixing: Bug
- Auto-crosswick when page is launched.
- Three day wait period before any hats or bombs can be added.
- Last edited time visible on main listing page.
- Send notifications to authors of drafts whenever there's a comment or change.
- New TLP header by Willbyr
- Expected launch time input field
- add ability to holler TLP comments
- Tag system. (“Needs better title”, “needs better description”, “needs examples” etc)
- Disable launch button if any tags present
- Add username of who launched a page under Page Info in the sidebar.
- Show last 5 newest tropes launched on home page
- show red links in comments. All links showing blue. (Add Customizer() function to comments)
- increase draft description box size
- edit locks to prevent duplicates and conflicts.
- ^Pop up when clicking launch a trope draft.
- Mods able to remove hats & bombs.
- Bookmark button when viewing individual TLP drafts
- Rename "YKTTW Archive" to "Trope Launch Pad Archive" on discussion pages
- Fix edit time glitch ("last edited by" goes based on last comment and not last edit)
- Status or special notes field: Wish
- Fix TLP search to first use titles then descriptions. Wish, Bug
- Mods and Authors will be able to set drafts to “up for grabs” which will display on the main page
- Be able to transfer ownership to someone else: Thread
- Bombs need a reason and then also display those reasons below the trope. Wish, Wish
- Alter pop up message when clicking bomb: Wish
- Show that you’ve hatted or bombed a draft. Wish
- Be unable to hat your own TLP. Wish
- Change “Launch a New Trope” button text to “Create Trope Draft For Review” or “Create New Trope Draft”.
- Remove your hat or bomb on a TLP draft without switching to the other. Wish
- Disable launch button for anyone but mods and authors
- Change “add hat” to “Launch Ready!” and “discard” to “Not Ready” or “Don’t Launch” and Hat icon changed to Rocket.
- Laconic field, as well as title and description, will be mandatory for new drafts submissions. Wish
- Auto launch laconic page Wish
- Be able to launch other page types via the TLP
- TLP History added to drop-down.
- Multiple sections and/or filters for page types
- make it so that leaving a comment on a draft does not reset the counter on "last edited by" Bug, Bug

- Fix backslash issue in TLP drafts. (Every time you save a draft with backslashes, the number of backslashes gets cut in half, rounded down.)
- Mods able to Thump / delete comments.
- Adds Preview functionality & image upload button to drafts and comments (plus emoji support/bar).

Drafts can be restored just by clicking the button on the side. That's what I do if something gets rogue-discarded; I just restore it and post in the draft who did it (and lately I've pinged them over). I check the discards every so often, but it's nobody's job; people just kinda do it anyway and people are allowed to restore things if they think it warrants a second chance (unless there's a lock obvi)

Are timestamps in draft histories not clickable like in edit histories? Apparently not. Would be really helpful if they were.

I don't see it in the list, so forgive me if this is happening, but didn't we discuss the idea of locking discarded and launched tropes to avoid people adding comments / extra hats and bombs? Because I've noticed far too many incidents lately where a draft is nuked, but people continue to bomb it and sometimes comment on it.

What about the bombs and hats? It feels entirely pointless to let people continue to dogpile drafts that have already been removed from the TLP.

Maybe just disable all functionality aside to viewing the markup? If a draft is discarded it's effectively dead.

Comments should be visible too, if only because what someone posts on drafts can be relevant later (if, say, they have recurring issues that appeared on said drafts, or if someone is re-making it but wants to grab the suggested examples from the nuked version).

A note of how long it's been since a draft was started. Since I can't do time math like "How long ago was Dec 28th 2023 at 12:20:59 PM"?
Or have mouse over text on the vaguer time markers like Yesterday and X minutes ago so the mouseover says things like "Dec 30th 2023 at 12:20:25 PM" when hovering over "Yesterday".
Preview of Name on Launching, cut out brackets, like it already cuts out anything after a quotation mark.

While looking on TLP a bit ago, this occurred to me (and if someone's already suggested it, I apologize; I didn't see it): would it be possible for new TLP pages to have an "autofill" built in when they're initially made? In essence, any new trope page created this way would start with the contents of the following folder:
"Describe trope here"
Examples:
(commented out: "If you don't have examples for a specific media category yet, just comment them out with a pair of ampersands until you do have an entry for that category.")
Films — Animation
Films — Live-Action
Roleplay
Other
Such an auto-filled draft would probably make things a lot easier on people who aren't entirely familiar with all the potential work categories for a new trope page (as it is, I had to do a search for Media Categories to make sure I had a full list as a demonstration here).

Addendum: The draft maker would still have to manually change the "AC" coding to folder coding eventually, when they had enough examples, but the current form would still make a decent start for a draft, by showing the creator the basic idea.

I don't personally see much use for this; we discourage having blank categories and having them pre-hidden won't help at all. The traditional way it's done is that they get added once examples for those categories are suggested, and if the sponsor misplaces something, the community can inform them. All this will actually do is lead to a bunch of launched pages with multiple hidden categories for no real reason.

I think a default draft would be good, but i agree it shouldnt just list every possible category.

Also, in the case of video game tropes, it would be impractical because those usually have their own assortment of sections/folders (Action, Platform, RPG, etc.)
It's best that the sponsor creates folders on their own for the examples. It's part of the job to put effort on the draft.

It's going to be more work fixing up the default template than to write the draft from scratch. And those who use TLP are expected to know how trope pages look like.

Having read the options proposed since my post, I could see just going with the simpler option of having the Trope Entry Template linked to the main Trope Launch Pad page, with a prominent "Read this and make sure you know the page style before preparing a draft" note on it. But it would probably be a good idea to include the list of Media Categories on said template page as well, rather than having to look on a different page for them.

Had a thought that I'm not sure how good it is. For TLP drafts to have "suggested/proposed indexes" field separately
- It helps showing which indexes the draft will be added to after launching, without needing to add then remove them from the description.
- May allow filtering drafts by trope index in the main hub to find similar drafts.

^ I like that, especially the filtering part as it can be tricky to find older drafts that might be similar to what you're proposing. For now, I just prep a "first comment" ahead of time that includes proposed indexes, link to the trope finder query if I made one, etc. and post it right after I post the draft. Keeps the actual draft content cleaner but all of that is still right at the top of the comments.
I also just wanted to check on those proposed TLP updates from a few months back. I've been seeing the changes elsewhere on the site and that's great. Wondering how far out the TLP changes might be?

The TLP is getting the ability to launch other pages besides tropes so we want the name to be more generalized. Please do not add new options to the crowner.
