OP made by opal6561

Weve Got Ourselves A Blank is listed as a definition-only page, but the "blank" can be literally any word. In addition, (1) searching the trope's name on the website shows no evidence of a discussion to remove examples from the website, and (2) going to this link shows only six wicks. Essentially, there appears to be no reason that this trope is DOP. In addition, for whatever reason, the page's history shows very few edits of the page.

Wicks checked: 6/6.

Correct use per trope page's description, if you can even call it that (2/6, 16.67%)

Both examples are copied in verbatim from the original pages. These are not listed as examples on the main-pages, in accordance with the trope's "No work examples" policy.

  • Superman: The Animated Series:
    • Then after that, screwing with the Mad Hatter using Super-Speed. The "Oh, Crap!" expression does not leave the Hatter's face once in that entire sequence.
Robin: [to Superman disguised as Batman] We got a runner!
      Mad Hatter: Curiouser and curiouser!
  • Toy Story of Terror:
    • The ending, where two cops arrive to arrest the manager for (supposedly, but effectively) stealing Bonnie's toy. The manager tries to sneak out and steal the cop car.
Cop 1: I told you not to leave the keys in the car.
[the manager backs up into the sign, which crashes onto top of the car and totals it. The manager runs off]
Cop 2: [deadpan, into radio] We got a runner.

Non-tropes, like a wick in an index page (4/6, 66.67%)

Possible solutions

  • Cut the trope entirely. There's such a low wick count that this is the easiest option.
  • Allow examples. As I said above, there's no evidence of a discussion to remove examples.
  • Allow examples and rename.

Pinging ~opal6561 for the thread.

As for me, it's pretty much a stock phrase, so we got ourselves a cut vote here.

Cut. We've got ourselves a pointless stock phrase.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.

[tup]to cutting. It's nothing more than a stock phrase.

[up]If we can get superconsensus, we don't need to wait for 3 days to call for the decision.

I'm all for cutting, btw.

Yeah, I think we can waive the Three-Day Rule for this one since it's in such poor shape and there's so much support for cutting.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.

Only took a few seconds to dewick (the entire reason I came up with the idea of waiving the Three-Day Rule), so locking.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.
