A recurring question: When is it long enough to split off a subpage?
While answers varynote , we can usually tell when a subpage is not long enough. Bring any candidates here and we can discuss whether or not they were properly split off and agree on whether or not to merge them back.
Here's one to start off discussion: Pun-Based Title.Webcomics. Merge back to Pun-Based Title?
I'd like to bring up Klaanon. Looking through the subpages, they are padded with ZCEs and things that shouldn't be there, like character alignments (if the fanfic uses these alignments, the trope page should say so). Once cleaned of these, they should need far fewer subpages, and I think many are too short as they are. I'll see how much space they take up cleaned in a word document.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.^^^ and ^^: Those can be merged back easily.
^I think this might take a dedicated thread of its own, feel free to invite fans familiar with the work.
Noticed this page getting a sudden spate of activity, particularly since it was started by a poster with a known issue for gratuitous subpaging (but who has been trying to correct such behavior in the present). Do you think it's necessary to combine all these entries from disparate Marvel subfranchises onto a single page if each folder only has a handful of entries each, instead of just leaving them on the appropriate YMMV pages, only splitting off if they have enough entries to justify a proper subpage (of which only the X-Men and Other folders have more than five entries)? I know excessive consolidation is a serious problem with MCU-related pages.

Splash of Color's subpages are on the shorter side but particularly Anime And Manga, Comic Books, Fan Works and Western Animation.
I think the contents should at least extend past the sidebar. In this case, the parent page is still pretty short even with them folded back.
the fan works page for Codename: Kids Next Door has 6 examples, which feels too short.

Wandering in from ATT, specifically this query (there are too many subpages to list out here).
Is there an issue here?
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meSpinning off from this ATT thread, several of the medium-based subpages for Freudian Excuse Denial and Defusing The Tykebomb (among others) have examples in the single digits (this page has a whopping four examples).
Sort of, but then again, most of those subpages have 20-30 examples. Subpages that are so small that you can fit all of the examples on the screen without having to scroll down is the point where it starts getting ridiculous.

With those splits, Freudian Excuse Denial has 10 on-page examples. That's way too few.
Why not treat this like we do with Character Specific Pages? Every page that's split off and their page of origin both need to each have equivalent byte/character counts (~40k bytes per page). Granted that's a pretty big number for this case, but I think some guideline like that would be useful.
Character Specific Page cleanupThere are a lot of subpages in the Warp That Aesop of Western Animation that feel too short.
The ones for The Critic, Kim Possible, She-Ra, The Smurfs, Voltron, and X-Men are definitely too short and the ones for Adventure Time, Gumball, American Dad, Animaniacs, Arthur, Futurama, Hey Arnold, Invader Zim, Looney Tunes, Star vs the Forces of Evil, and Teen Titans Go might be too.
So, I made a bunch of subpages for Elemental Powers without knowing the conditions for making them and want to know which pages should stay or be reemerged to the main page. (Some have already been remerged)
DishingOutDirt.Anime And Manga (Remerged)
DishingOutDirt.Comic Books (Remerged)
PlayingWithFire.Fan Works (Remerged)
PlayingWithFire.Films Live Action (Remerged)
PlayingWithFire.Live Action TV (Remerged)
PlayingWithFire.Tabletop Games (Remerged)
PlayingWithFire.Webcomics (Remerged)
CastingAShadow.Western Animation
GreenThumb.Comic Books (Remerged)
GreenThumb.Fan Works (Remerged)
So all the ones I listed are fine to merge? Also, how do I merge a page?
Edit: ok I already did it with them all, I just had to look up the Cut List

ObfuscatingDisability.Video Games has only 11 examples, including the one example I just added to it. Is that too short for the page?
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Alright, Imma merge it.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Referenced by... has a ton of subpages that are short and should probably be merged with Trivia/ for the work and the media category subpage for Referenced by... (IMO anything with fewer examples than five should be merged, even three seems rather short). Some that I found to show what I mean:
- ReferencedBy.Ten Cc
- ReferencedBy.The 400 Blows
- ReferencedBy.Adam 12
- ReferencedBy.Alley Oop
- ReferencedBy.Altered States
- ReferencedBy.A Beautiful Mind
- ReferencedBy.A Canticle For Leibowitz
- ReferencedBy.Sonic The Hedgehog 2020
- ReferencedBy.Sonic The Hedgehog CD
- ReferencedBy.Spawn
- ReferencedBy.Super Mario Bros Manga Mania
The fan works page for Codename: Kids Next Door only has six examples, and could be remerged back into the main page easily.

Yes
Referenced By is in a weird "own namespace" purgatory like the moments pages and attitudes are split between "prioritize the own page" or "leave them on YMMV/Trivia until long enough". Could stand to have a larger discussion about it.
HesitantSacrifice.Fan Works has only five examples. Permission to merge back into Hesitant Sacrifice?
Edit: I created a Referenced By thread in Trope Talk.

Discussion so far supports merging the short pages back into Trivia.
I support the move, and it's down to four after hiding the ZCE.
Cutlisted the page. Should I move over the remaining examples?
I'm glad someone thought of making a thread like this!...
Anyways, VideoGameCrueltyPotential.Beat Em Up - deleting it won't be too cruel since there's only two items
